It would look just like the WNBA and be just as profitable.By the way, can I mention a pet peeve? A long, long time ago it was unusual to see a sports team with a singular nickname. Like, "the Avalanche." Rather than a plural, like "the Jets." You Old-Heads might, like me, remember the old "NASL" soccer league. That league featured a lot of teams with a singular nickname. But this stopped being a novelty many, many years ago, as more and more teams adopted singular nicknames. In fact, it's now a cliche. So of course the WNBA has to be the most cliched franchise on earth and feature mostly singular nicknames. Atlanta Dream. Connecticut Sun. Chicago Sky. Indiana Fever. New York Liberty. Phoenix Mercury. Portland Fire. Seattle Storm. I had to look these up, you know. I can't name them off the top of my head like some commenters I could name but won't. (Garrett.) The "singular team name" thing is only attention grabbing when there's one singular team name among many plural names.

"This should not have happened," a league spokesperson told Front Office Sports. "The Atlanta Dream believes in creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. Unfortunately, at last night's game, WNBA security took actions that fell short of that standard," the team said. ... It represents an escalation in response since Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton allegedly cursed out teenage Cunningham fans in XX-XY Athletics gear, also holding signs thanking her for "speaking up for girls," when the Fever visited the Storm last month. Cunningham shamed Keaton on social media. Seattle journalist Brandi Kruse, who helped organize a pro-Cunningham rally outside the game, reported the girls weren't told to cover the shirts or hide the signs. She said Climate Pledge Arena security refused to remove Keaton for harassing fans, though the WNBA suspended her for five home games for unspecified behavior. "They gave us t-shirts during overtime and told us we had to leave or cover our [XX-XY] shirts up," an unidentified woman who attended Sunday's Fever-Dream game with her teenage daughter told conservative activist Adam Francisco after the game. The daughter said they paid $1,000 each for their seats on floor 3, row C, three rows from the court, to support Cunningham and girls' sports. "We did nothing. We were just sitting there," the mother said, adding that she had wanted to make signs supporting Cunningham but refrained so as not to ruffle feathers at the game. Their shirts have variations of the XX-XY logo on the front, and on the daughter's Riley Gaines collaboration shirt, "for the girls" on the back.

Philosophical beliefs are a protected characteristic under the 2010 Equality Act, a way for atheists to protect their Muslim friends and not give a special carve out for religion. This was deemed by a court to include the (rather common) belief that men cannot become women.

What is your definition of a "religion" that everybody will buy into?
Because this is part of the atheist-neglected slop that I had to wade through in order to get to a workable functional model.
So many atheists are content to say "Marxism is a religion", but with a similar sloppiness they will say "What makes religious people dumb is there belief in supernatural beings" or "things without evidence".
Truly those don't both define "religion".
That's why I concentrate on what they have in common. A social structure of a Vision as the image of what it's all about, and societal dynamics like enforcement--which is not essential, but just typical.
So, my point is finer, it cannot be a "religion" because we don't have a workable, functional definition.
What you yourself are citing are social structures. And that's my point, things can have similar social dynamics.

So, sometimes you argue with a fool according to their own folly. Our faith is not only retiring, but to reach out. I am first and foremost a "dialogist". I seek to have dialog.
And in dialog, we must seek illustrative terms, not mere labels. This is also what drives me to seek functional models and descriptions. Not just use terms as the impenetrable shields they sometimes are.
Although it is handy to know the conventions.

In short - Lindsay Clancy murdered her 3 kids back in January of 2023. She took them into the basement one-by-one and strangled them with an exercise cord while her husband was out shopping and getting her meds. This isn't disputed by Lindsay's defense lawyer. To me, there might be a psych defense due to Lindsay's 30-odd medications, but that only should change if she spends the rest of her life in a psych ward or ride the lightning.
While this story is horrific in itself, what's really bothering is there's thousands of women on TikTok that are siding with Lindsay. Some are even going further and saying that the husband's the real murderer, based of astrological signs and how he looked on stand at a single moment. They've even set up a GoFundMe account for Lindsay, in her parent's name to get around the obvious prohibition of using these accounts to support an accused murderer.

Joe Biden used to say he agreed with the Catholic Church that abortion was murder. But he felt at that time that he can't decide for another person (like we do with "other murder"!). So he wasn't going to use his position to enforce the "Catholic Faith" on others.
Okay, and then he said "If I really believed in the reproductive rights of women," he would favor funding abortions so that women can make their choice.
To Joe's "credit", I've never heard him since then argue that he really, truly supports the position of the Catholic Church but he's just not going to impose his belief on others in an official capacity.
But the upshot is that when he started seeing it as a denial of human rights of a woman, he had to do something about it. When he just thought that hey, maybe it's murder, ... nah!

That movie has major issues and also suffered from having its plot shaved down (it originally involved the Pope, kinda like the book the movie's adapted from), but James Woods is great in it. Some of the guitar stings are kewl too.

She is a pretty well built girl. She isn't a total butter face, but she has some bulldog like quality to her. She looks much better smiling as do most. But unsmiling she does not have a great look. But as an older fellow, I kid you not when i say personality and a willing attitude mean more than any physical characteristic as long as you aren't looking like triggleypuff.

I only watched girls HS basketball because I was on the bench or forced in for a long shot and free throws to avoid blackeyes and a concussion (I already had two shiners and one concussion, which was during practice). I was more interested in the HS boy's basketball game that followed. Have not watched girl' basketball since.
Did it take trans in this sport to get national interest?
Now due to Sophie people watch and/or throw green dildos. I think they were green, possibly purple. Or rainbow dildos.
