Neat!
Harlan Ellison collaborated with Yerka on a book where Yerka provided the paintings and Ellison wrote a one-page short story for each painting. They get weird. But very cool paintings. The book is called "Mind Fields" and highly recommended if you like Yerka's style of artwork and Ellison's flair for short stories. This is nicely detailed. One could spend quite a while picking the various elements apart.
It looks as if there's living quarters above the shed or mini-barn part. Steps go up to a door, and then there's that crooked enclosed balcony over to the right where the crow or raven is sitting. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at August 18, 2026 09:36 AM (wzUl9) 32

Jacek Yerka is another case of a hugely talented artist who chooses to paint bizarre images as if something beautiful or natural is beneath his attention. It's frustrating and annoying. It succeeds in that I want to look at it with all its many bits but, aside from that, where would you display it. Maybe on the cover of a sci-fi book or similar. 227 My son loved Monster House when he was a kid, up to a point. At some point, he’d be too scared to watch anymore, and we’d have to turn it off.

231 Detroit is kind of a weird name too. We just don’t really think about it since we hear it so often. It really should be Day-troua, in its proper French pronunciation.

Colleges are the best places to run dope. Cops turn a blind eye to drug crime on campus. They want parents to know that police are present in force to protect Oliver and Emma from Ja'marquius and Rogerio, but that Oliver and Emma *will not* be locked up for their drug pansexual sodomy hobby.
These guys had to be pretty sloppy to get caught. Or maybe the payments to the campus substation were late. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at August 18, 2026 10:35 AM (BI5O2) 249
