THE MORNING RANT: Alberta Independence Is a Necessary Bulwark Against Canada’s Capitulation to the Enemies of Western Civilization

Canada is gone. It cannot be saved nor restored to the polite, commonwealth country we knew in the 20th Century.

Alberta, however, and much of Canada outside of Ontario and the Vancouver-area can still be saved. They need to be saved.

The best-case scenario for Vancouver and Toronto is that they’ll end up demographically and economically like Singapore. The more likely scenario is that they’ll end up as balkanized hell-holes, like Brussels, Paris, and London have become.

The security of the United States and the perpetuation of western civilization in North America requires that the salvageable parts of Canada be set free from its cascading de-westernization.

There is reason for hope. The Alberta independence movement has gathered enough verified petition signatures to force a referendum in October. Albertans will cast a Yes/No vote for the following question. “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”

While this vote is non-binding, if it passes and Prime Minister Carney does not allow the independence process to move forward, the United States and President Trump should support the people of Alberta with pre-emptive recognition of its independence. There are plenty of incentives - and disincentives - that the U.S. can employ to force Carney’s capitulation.

The situation involving Canada really is that dire, as reported by Will Thibeau in a recent article at The Blaze: “Canada Has Become America’s Northern Security Threat.” The sub-headline to that article reads: ”Mass migration, foreign interference, Chinese surveillance technology, and weak border controls have turned a trusted ally into a growing vulnerability.”

Canada is becoming one of America’s most underestimated national security vulnerabilities: a permissive northern platform through which mass migration, organized crime, and hostile foreign influence can reach the United States.

In the early 1960s, Canada’s population was 97% European, based on ethnic origin. That declined to just 52% by the 2020s, due to a mass-immigration regime that rejected Canada’s heritage and intentionally sought to alter the cultural makeup of Canada.

Canada embraced state-sponsored multiculturalism. Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau even described the country as the world’s first “postnational state,” with “no core identity” and “no mainstream.” Canada has combined mass immigration with an increasingly vague idea of national belonging.

If Canada is “post-national” as Justin Trudeau boasts, then Alberta is entitled to be a country of its own, since Canada has ceased to be a nation.

The two greatest foreign threats to the United States, in my opinion, are:

1) The 21st century Chinese empire, which is trying to expand its influence into the western hemisphere.

2) A global Islamic caliphate, which is really just part of the ongoing 1,400-year war between the Christian West and Islam.

Both of these threats are establishing North American toeholds in Canada.

China presents the gravest strategic threat. Beijing does not need to turn Canada into an outright enemy of the United States. It needs only to use Canada as a gateway into the North American system.
Canada’s decision to allow Chinese electric vehicles into the country at reduced tariff rates shows the risk. Modern electric vehicles are not simply cars. Their cameras, microphones, sensors, software, and remote-update capabilities can collect enormous quantities of data.
That policy could put tens of thousands of Chinese surveillance platforms on American roads, gathering information near military bases, power plants, communications infrastructure, and other sensitive sites.

The United States also has a virtually unsecured border with Canada. When Canada was still a 1st-world, pro-western nation, we didn’t have to worry about it. That is no longer the case.

When the United States tightens its southern border while Canada maintains looser entry policies, the northern frontier becomes an escape valve for foreign nationals seeking unlawful entry. The danger extends beyond illegal immigration. Criminal organizations, foreign agents, and potentially terrorist-linked individuals can exploit a border designed around an older assumption of trust.

Getting back to the Islamification of Canada, even the prairie provinces are submitting to government-sponsored Islamic indoctrination. Authorities in Saskatchewan have acquiesced to a mosque’s demand to blast Islamic calls to prayer through downtown Regina, so as to “help introduce” Islamic rituals and obedience to the non-Muslims in Regina.

Canadians living in Regina’s downtown core were subjected to an outdoor Islamic call to prayer broadcast out loud from a mosque for the first time just steps from City Hall.
The Regina City Jamia Masjid used rooftop speakers at its McIntyre Street location to project the Adhan at 1 p.m., marking a trial run approved by police and set to run at least through mid-July.
Anisur Rahaman of the RCJM broadcast told CTV News it would “help introduce” the mosque to both Muslim and non-Muslim residents from its downtown location.

We cannot surrender any more North American ground to the enemies of western civilization. The salvageable parts of Canada must be saved, and it needs to start in Alberta.

Petered out? In the end, GB left the EU. It'll take longer than it should, but ultimately, I think Canada will disaggregate. That doesn't necessarily make me happy, but if they don't get their act together, it's going to happen.

Start with building 100 miles of barriers east and west of all major Canadian population centers. There will still be vast, unprotected swaths of border, but surveillance drones and satellites can pick up any unusual or heavy traffic along those parts.

I've had the same thought about Canada -- a growing security problem for the US.

The same Islamic, Indian, and CCP infiltration has been happening in the US. The problem in Canada makes this worse, though.

The other thought I've had about Canada is that it's slightly larger than the US, but has about 10% of the population. Hardly anybody there. If Canada ceases to function as a nation, and remains a growing threat, maybe...

41 As far as China goes, time is not on their side. The leaders know they have a demographic bomb. The longer they can be strung out, the weaker they will be. However, China's agents in the west are already doing a lot of damage. They may be destined to lose due to their own political failures, but they have been, are, and will continue to do a lot of damage in the United States and the West.

Well, what we have now is nothing, and it's too expensive to attempt to wall the whole things. So, if 48 can start the process, the 100 miles can be expanded to 125, 150, 175 in each direction over time.

Of course, you also have the problem of the Great Lakes. There are a ton of limits to what one can do to secure those shores without depriving Americans of the ability use their shoreline property.

I opine only for myself. I don't quite trust Vance. Maybe it's the footsie with Tucker. He's not necessarily done things wrong, and I appreciate his efforts on spearheading coordination to weed out some of the fraud. But DeSantis has by far the most proven track record, and Rubio has been nothing but stellar the past few years.

The whole job seeking thing went to shit some time ago and from what I can see is only getting worse. My only thought is networking, which I personally suck at, but meeting people and making connections seem to go much further than resume, experience, competence, and work ethic. I was in Vancouver earlier this year and was shocked at how few white people there were. I had been there about 10 years ago. It was very diverse then too but it was at least somewhat “Canadian” looking. This year? Holy fuck I could easily have been in Beijing or Bombay and not known the difference.

If the owner accepts, the inspection will tell me (as it did on the previous house) if the place is as good as it looks. It's a nice little corner house with a shade tree in front, a foyer, a deck the owner will re-stain, a good basement, a 2-car garage, and a little shed that will need some paint work -- but that *appears* to be the only thing that will. Good neighborhood too.

Unfortunately it’s not just one poll. It’s a lot of them. And they all say 25-30% support. I think there was one that showed 35% a few months ago as an outlier.

Brexit polls showed remain winning but it was like 3% lead to remain and leave won by 3%. Polls can be off as we all know.. But we’re taking polls showing 60-30 remain with 10% not sure. Unless something insane happens, that isn’t turning into 51-49 leave.

My 'programming knowledge' has been focused on (Windows) server scripting and administration for the last 20 years, so general 'write an app' or 'serverless database' or 'must have experience building and supporting kubernetes clusters' stuff isn't going anywhere fast. Innovation - I prefer to be doing interesting things like building new systems or automating maintenance or writing code.

I have some cloud experience, and I understand a little more than just the basics of firewalls and networking and storage arrays, but when they want '5+ years administering storage arrays and managing routers', I can't claim that. That was the job of two other groups that I knew how to explain my needs to and how to diagnose when they got it wrong.

I'm glad to report my PS district is now automatically banning any gay themed content for young kids. The last thing was, the pre-K program dropped "Cocomelon" from their entertainment because they had a gay episode, but there have been a number of things the district has pulled, to the dismay of Nearby Gay Commiopolis.

The only thing I can offer is perhaps doing informational interviewing of people in the field you want to work in. If you are not seeking a job (at least not directly) and simply discussing someone's work, that gets you away from the HR screening apparatus that is designed to keep potential job seekers away from bothering employees. What Color is My Parachute is the one book that has preached this since 1960's and it is successful and stayed in print for so long because it is a useful technique.

Libraries or Ebay have this book and I advise reading it for the nuances of doing this. Worked for a number of my students fwiw.

Unless you got a friend that's going to set you up, you need to brush up on Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, and Lua.

The fastest way in would be to try to get a junior web-dev, if you want to continue the tech route.

There are a lot of job postings for programmers that can program UI's and control systems for AV integration.

Take a look at every crash course video on YouTube.

If your current skillset is just general bash or powershell scripting, that's going to be tough.

Okay, so listen. If you see a role that says this and you have 60% of what they want, throw your hat in the ring and create a nexis between what you do know and how you can close the gap. You are a salesman in your interview and you are selling you. The very best you that exists. The other thing is if you are seeing roles pop up that consistently require this skill set, go find some free class on it, even if you know more than the instructor. 1. It opens networking and 2. In your interview, you are going to say “I have recognized this trend as a needed skill. I wanted to close the gap in my tool kit, so I have taken course z, etc etc.” shows recognition of skill gap, recognition of emerging trends and initiative to resolve.

We had a muslim soldier in our unit in 2006 that was a riot and was and damn good soldier.
That said, he was pretty much marinated in the good 'ol USA, and he loved him some bacon.

Basically, he was as much muslim as Biden and Pelosi are Catholics.

The ones coming here to get their jihad on, and spitting out little jihadists are the ones I'm concerned with.

And they won't denounce them either because that would make them a 'bad Muslim' from those in their congregation. It is when a crisis occurs and a choice must be made, they side with one or the other side and that is going to be who they identify with. For Southerners in the time of the Civil War, they sided with their homes, kin, and friends. For Northerners, the same. And the few dissenters on either side were silenced or worse.

156 I have some cloud experience, and I understand a little more than just the basics of firewalls and networking and storage arrays, but when they want '5+ years administering storage arrays and managing routers', I can't claim that. That was the job of two other groups that I knew how to explain my needs to and how to diagnose when they got it wrong.

Dave - IT hiring is some of the worst about doing what you describe. Apply for it anyway, highlight the hell out of the things you can do. Realize unfortunately some of those companies are looking for someone who doesn't exist - some of them may just be essentially ghost jobs to fulfill an in ternal recruiting requirement. Current "Talent Acquisition" practices suck, as do the bosses running those sections. Sorry about that.
And networking is the biggest key - even if you suck at it, lay out a network map, and start filling it.

Yes, those hiring view such as disposable, dated, and are far more critical of them than justified. It is the one form of bigotry still allowed combining age with racial discrimination. It is ingrained into corporate think. This is not the job market of even 2016, it is infested with those making decisions doing so in view of what they think the organization, not them, value. And that marketplace does not value older white men. Tech has become particularly vicious about it.

Small business is less likely to do that because they are often more on a knife's edge of survival but has its own problems simply to keep running and make a profit.

170 Alberta independence has about 30% support. The referendum will fail. Even if it were to pass, there are a number of other hurdles that make it virtually impossible. It's not going to happen. Electing a conservative government there will improve things -- the youth are leaning hard conservative, while boomers are stingily keeping their vote parked with the Liberals. Things are changing as recent polling (the reliable ones, not Ekos or Nanos) shows Carney is losing steam.
