Massachusetts Becomes the Tenth Blue State to Authorize Abortions Up Until the Moment of Crowning
Safe, legal, and rare you guys.
Democratic Gov. Maura Healey was met with applause and smiles as she signed away Massachusetts' gestational limits on abortion, making the deep-blue state the 10th to permit the procedure up to birth. Under the Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act, health care workers will have greater discretion in determining whether to perform an abortion later in pregnancy, without facing legal penalties under the state's previous restrictions. Healey said the law is intended to ensure families facing medical complications late in pregnancy can abort their babies in Massachusetts rather than having to travel out of state. Those complications can include maternal health complications and fatal diagnoses. During the bill signing, Healey pledged to keep abortion safe, legal and accessible in Massachusetts for as long as she remains governor.Oh, they dropped the "rare" and replaced it with "accessible," meaning "convenient." Which is the opposite of "rare." 7-Elevens are not rare.

Previously, state law generally prohibited abortions after 24 weeks, with limited exceptions. Massachusetts now joins Alaska, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and Vermont in removing gestational age limits on abortion, along with the District of Columbia. ... SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser condemned the signing of the "egregious" law in a statement Monday, arguing that late-term abortions can involve dismemberment of the fetus.
"It should shock the conscience that tens of thousands of unborn Americans are barbarically dismembered limb by limb and torn apart every single year," she said. "Sadly, that number will only increase with Gov. Healey's approval of the Abortion Up Until Birth Bill. The GOP must abandon the 'leave it to the states' position -- a stance that permits egregious late-term abortion laws like this one -- and advance national protections for unborn children." ... Unfortunately, the Supreme Court already ruled against that possibility.
When they overturned Roe v. Wade-- which set a national policy for allowing abortion-- the Supes basically said, "Nope, Roe v. Wade is unconstitutional, becuase there can't be any nationwide law regarding abortion." That ruling cuts both ways. It eliminated Roe v. Wade thereby allowing many pro-lifer states t set pro-life policies, but it also by the same measure allow pro-abortion states to set whatever pro-abortion laws they want.
It's just going to have to be a state-by-state battle from here on out. We're probably going to have to endure living in a country with states that allow abortion up until birth..
Unfortunately, the Supreme Court already ruled against that possibility.

My next-door neighbor--a total lockstep Democrat--just adopted a stray cat that had been brought in to the city pound. (Well, his daughter adopted it without consulting the parents.) Fat teenage black girls who didn't even realize they were pregnant. That's what accounts for at least half of these 8th-month abortions.
The whole argument about "doctors are afraid to perform necessary medical procedures because they're afraid of being accused of performing a late-term abortion" is a total lie, a fake narrative. That almost never happens. What does happen is that dumb girls don;'t even know they;'re pregnant (or don't want to admit it to themselves or anyone else) until they eventually realize that pretending the problem doesn't exist doesn't make the problem go away.
But the Left doesn't mind this fact at all because the whole original purpoe of legalizing abortion was to decrease the number of black babies, a key part of Margret Sanger's eugenics movement.

I live near a gas station that makes fantastic fried chicken & a local pizza place worked out a deal to have a little mini-counter at that same gas station to sell nothing but pizzas...and they are also, fantastic. A few days ago here in SE Michigan, a Facebook page dedicated to Ann Arbor denizens was lit up over pro-life individuals going door to door and leaving graphic photos of abortions. The AWFLS were incensed that their small children could have seen these images. I mean, these twits carried on, posted ring camera photos of those dropping off the material at their doorsteps, wanted to call the police, etc. Completely lost on them was the fact that the images they were horrified over are the procedures they support and fund. A few brave souls spoke up to remind them of that fact and were immediately labeled as right wing, or worse, men who had no business telling women what they should do with their bodies.

I cannot understand women- if you're fat- not knowing you are pregnant - they didn't teach you about menstrual periods in school health class? And waiting till the ninth month to have an abortion ?!! This is where I'm at in the national discussion. It's horrific that Leftists are killing their own children. I mourn for the suffering of those children. I have done everything I can to convince them to stop killing their children.
But still they insist on killing their own children, and there's nothing more I can do about it. So I look for the silver lining, and take comfort in the fact that they are killing off their own voter base.

This is along the lines of my "human sacrifice is their next thing" theory. Abortion up to x weeks isn't good enough. Nor are exceptions. They want the whole ball of wax.
