What happened to those days, they seem so hard to find.
I try and reach or you, but you just close your mind.
What ever happened to our love?
I wish I understood.
It used to be so nice, it used to be so good.

So when you near me, darling can’t you hear me?
S.O.S.!
And the love you gave me, nothing else can save me!
S.O.S.!
When your gone, how can I even try to go on?
When your gone, though I try, I cannot go on!

You seem so far away, though you are standing near.
You made me feel alive, but something died of fear.
What ever happened to our love?
I wish I understood.
What happened to our love, it used to be so good.

52 In other news, my 2025 tax refund check *finally* showed up. I'll take it to the bank, withdraw some walking-around money, and leave the rest, as I have to make my quarterly estimated tax payment in early Sept. There will still be quite a bit left over, though.

The house I wanted to video tour this week is now under contract. Two more possibilities popped up, but one seems huge and probably hard to heat and cool. The other is close to perfect -- but is located within a few blocks of two Section 8 housing developments. Still I'll have a look at it, I guess.

The furry thugs are well. They need their rabies shots; I guess that's what the rest of my tax refund will go to.

53 Yesterday, my husband and I went out for some delicious store made ice cream. I enjoy watching the little kids there and how delighted they are at the ice cream. Yesterday, along with little boys jumping up and down and laughing while looking themselves in the fun house mirror that's there - there was a little girl with a long blue dress which must have been like a dress in a Disney movie. She had long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. I think she was there with her grandmother and father. I asked how old she was and she held up four fingers. She told me her name is Lana. What a pretty name. I don't think I've ever heard that name aside from the actress Lana Turner.

61 Tonight the book club meets at the suburban library near me. The topic: "The Cozy Mystery." I'll bring along and discuss Josephine Tey's last novel and possibly her best, The Singing Sands; it may qualify for "cozy" even more than the Christies, Carrs, and Queens I have. And it is certainly more readable than 90% of the modern "cozies" I've read. I don't mind that they all follow the same formula; classic mysteries have theirs too. It's that the moderns are all so dull and the "mystery" element is weaker and thinner than an episode of Barnaby Jones.

And we'll stop to have some ice cream afterward.

So this will be the big story today. Given that she supposedly led by double digits, there will be many claims that the Dem party cheated to deny her the nomination. Who knows, maybe.

But I think it’s even more likely that she *never* actually led, and that it’s another sign that the entire practice of polling is now irretrievably broken, and produces nothing but nonsense results that mirror the biases of the pollster.

If this is so, then double digit misses by the polls are going to become the norm.

These people spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk about the matter.

I have to ask: Am I the only person in the world who gets annoyed when I read that? If you aren’t authorized to talk, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!
