Another day, another batch of Flock abuses
Wisconsin police pull over wrong vehicle, draw guns on woman after Flock cameras mistakenly identified her car in a homicide case. Twice.

It happened at around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. Video from I-94 in Waukesha County shows multiple officers with guns drawn - and a passenger sticking their hands out the window. Police pulled the car over after a Flock camera flagged it for a Milwaukee homicide. But when Brookfield Police called the Milwaukee Police Department, MPD said they no longer needed the car or the people inside, so officers let them go. FOX6 News reached out to MPD to learn why that car was still active in the Flock system. The department said it was not a Flock issue, but a personnel issue - staff failed to remove a wanted vehicle alert from the system.

If either of them had resisted in any way or showed they were upset by the false accusations being made by the cops they may have ended up dead. We've seen that happen before. Also, the cops say "your car flagged the system" as if it were their fault. It was the system that flagged the car incorrectly, not the other way around. There should be some type of monetary compensation for being stopped falsley with guns drawn.

The world of women’s cycling is currently embroiled in a bizarre scandal involving the alleged use of bra padding to increase the bust area of female competitors and modify airflow around the body. Known as “chest fairing,” the controversial practice can allegedly decrease drag and give competitors an unfair advantage during races. According to experts, a smaller bust can favor the formation of a kind of “air pocket” at the level of the cyclist’s abdomen, which marginally increases the drag coefficient. For example, Bert Blocken, professor of aerodynamics at Heriot-Watt University (Scotland), told the British newspaper The Telegraph that chest fairing could provide a reduction of up to 3.6% in drag. *** Originally reported last month by Dutch newspaper “WielerFlits,” the chest fairing trend caused quite a scandal on the women’s cycling circuit, and on August 4th, the cyclists taking part in this year’s Tour de France underwent an additional check of their clothing. It’s unclear if the checks uncovered the use of breast padding, but it’s clear that organizers aim to discourage the practice.

Driving through a largely unpopulated area of a mid-southern state late one evening, I had my cruise set to 5 over the speed limit and chillin'. After a while, a state trooper pulls up behind me. He just paces me. There's hardly any other cars on this dark desert highway and I just leave my cruise at 5 over.
After a while the lights come on and I pull over.
He comes up to the car and is very nice and polite and asks me some questions. We discuss that it's a rental car and I hand him the paperwork; he checks the VIN. He goes back to his car and sits there a while, waiting on information to come back. Eventually he comes back up and informs me the license on my car is not correct, and that's why he pulled me over - it should be on a different car.
Turns out the license belongs on an identical model car of a different color. He lets me know he'll call it in so that hopefully I don't get pulled over again. Neither he nor I are happy with the rental car company. The rental company didn't seem particularly perturbed when I told them upon turning in the car.

The Iowa 80 Truckstop and Trucking Museum is in Walcott, roughly 160 miles east of the proposed Buc-ees location.
The Iowa 80 Truckstop and Trucking Museum gets quite a bit of car business, they have a bunch of car gas pumps in front, the truck pumps are in the back. Inside, they have clean restrooms and lots of junk food. I think they have a Wendys inside and some other food offerings.
I always stop there when I'm eastbound, as I can fill up and then make it to Indiana and not have to buy gas in Illinois. I hate that state and don't want to give them any money or do anything there except take a piss.
They're probably far enough apart to not have a big impact either way.

40 years ago? I'd believe it was 75-25. I remember when we still had Hardee's in this area, the roast beef sandwich was just never as good as the Arby's one (plus, I could not get a beef n cheddar.)
I remember in college when they came out with coupons where you could get 5 beef and cheddars or 5 roast beef for 5 dollars. Then it went to 4, then 3 and now I do not think they even do deals and kids today are like 'Coupons?'

Sometimes the truck is gone-- they go to local events that are more lucrative than grocery's parking lot-- although there's almost always a few cars at their end of the lot. Steady business for decent product!

Except the little brook trout way up in the Bighorns or Absaroka mountains. Fried in a cast iron pan with bacon grease and a bit of butter inside.

My wife and I stayed with a small group out at a lodge at Little Pecan Island, South Louisiana. Now “islands’ down there are just high points in the middle of a swamp, but the wildlife was fascinating. We went out in a canoe and coasted up next to an alligator as long as the canoe was! They were all over. Anyway there were about 15 of us there, and there was a cook/caretaker, and when i asked about supper, he said “oh well just see what we catch.”
I thought that was a pretty last minute way to plan dinner for a group of people, but he invited me with him to a little pier on some open water behind the he lodge, and he stood in it and started casting a net.
Within about 30 minutes he had two 5 gallon buckets filled with crab, shrimp, and half a dozen kinds of fish. It was astounding! Made me understand why people lived in the swamps - most of it is terrible, but you never go hungry.

I figured they were running a similar game by showing her with huge leads in the polls and that she would be slid through. Which now that I think about it didn't make sense because they can't afford to lose that governorship. Gonna be interesting to see the post mortems. Will the establishment breakdance all over it? Will the DSA threaten to withhold their vote in November? Will they all come together in the end?

There is a third candidate in the DEM race, a white, female state senator. She's getting 7% of the vote. I'd be curious to know whom her candidacy is helping. Her resume sounds pretty midstream. I doubt she's taking votes that otherwise would've gone for Wong.
