White said only the league could end his challenge by stating its position plainly on the subject of males playing in women's sports.
"I think the WNBA could come out and make a definitive statement about guys with a pair of balls playing in the Women's Association," he said.
Asked whether he would proceed unless the league did make such a statement, White replied, "Oh, no, I'm declaring. And I don't want to be discriminated against. I want fair treatment. I'm a young Black, hopefully United States Senator that would like a fair chance to participate as a sometimes-identifying-as-a-transgender-woman athlete."
White also suggested that he would pursue legal action if he goes undrafted and is not signed to a team.
"I have to file a discrimination lawsuit, right? I mean, that's, that's ridiculous," he said. "We're gonna have to have a huge legal battle about discrimination if I can't play."
White, 35, is also on the ballot in Minnesota's Aug. 11 Republican primary for the U.S. Senate. He was the Republican nominee against Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar in 2024, losing the general election.

I really hate this attitude that if you're not in the top 1000 in all history, you're shit. He wasn't a superstar, but he was a productive player. Career average per game: 11.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.4 steals, 0.5 blocks, in 21.5 minutes. 54.8% FG, 77.7% FT.

He was in 59 playoffs games with 7.6 ppg, 5.9 rebounds per game.

He would absolutely destroy 99.99% of people who have ever played basketball. He was able to play well against the best of the best. But because he's not Michael Jordan or whatever superstar you personally love, "he sucked."

The thing it, this is basically the same playbook the NBA used decades ago -- successfully -- to pitch and promote the new "bad boys" of the NBA.

The younger audience of mostly males wasn't turning out to watch the NBA as much as their fathers did. So they deliberately turned it into a more thuggish league.

The classy older players like Kareem, Doctor J, and even Larry Bird and MJ were replaced with tattooed thugs and wannabe gangsters, some with serious criminal records -- and who like to beat up women.

It worked. The same play is being run in the WNBA, but with the added drama of ugly racial hatred against white players.

I don't think it will work this time.

Travis pidgeon holed them....which was the purpose of the most recent league meeting. It's not, IMO, to "define a woman." It's likely a discussion on how to change the by-laws on new franchise approval....which is not just a WNBA approval process, but includes the board of governors of the NBA.

Asians tend to be most "racist" against other Asians, and it's mostly status- and wealth-based (as they are all basically the same race).

The higher-status, wealthier Asian countries (primarily Japan, S Korea, and Taiwan) look down their nose at the lower-status Asian countries. A lady from S Korea would much sooner date/marry a white guy than anyone from, for example, the Philippines.

There are endless romantic comedies coming out of Philippines where Koreans go to school in Philippines (this is a real thing for affluent Koreans), fall in love with a Pinay or Pinoy, the Korean parents are dead-against it because they consider Philippines low class, but of course love always triumphs in the end.

Well, you get a bunch of woke queer women making eligibility rules...of course they're going to say trans women are allowed. The WNBA was a nothing organization, a joke, so they probably figured it wouldn't be an issue, they could screen out problem candidates with no public backlash, etc.

Now, though, they are getting more popular, much more media (and scrutiny), and with NBA players announcing...it will be much more difficult to stop without appearing transphobic to their tribe.

I recently saw some black male sports commentators talking about the WNBA all star game, and how much of the media was focused on them partying, lezzing out, clubbing, etc, and the one guy said he understands why they're so upset with Clark. It used to be a paid party circuit for black lesbians. A subsidized, easy pay sinecure where they got to travel, act like stars, hook up and get paid, all with no oversight or accountability. Now some straight white girl is exposing them for the mediocrity they are.

professional basketball is a weird psuedo sport. It was like rollerball. At least for a while, it was more spectacle than sport. With the intentional foul replays it has gotten better.

Maybe. I don't know. A lot of fat people have low muscle mass, and when they lose weight, they lose even more. So you end up with a body that has extremely low muscle mass, some extra skin, and there's still a fair amount of fat on them.

They end up weighing the same as a person of the same height and of a healthy weight who never was fat, but with lower muscle mass and higher fat. It ends up looking wrong.

People also typically lose weight from the top down. Face first, then upper body, then lower body. So their face ends up looking gaunt even when their lower body carries extra fat.

It's possible GLP-1 causes even more issues. But the above things all happen to anyone who loses a lot of weight, and many people aren't used to seeing them because so few people lose that much weight without help.

When I was in Korea I visited the Korean Independence Hall. I got the sense that the Koreans don’t like Japan all that much. Japan trying to stomp out Korean language and culture might have something to do with it.

But it also goes back further. For instance, in 1592 Japan wanted to attack China and go through Korea to do it, the Koreans told the Japanese to get bent. Japan invaded Korea. After six years the Japanese gave up because it wasn’t working out too well for them (this was a cause of the rise of the Tokugawa Shogunate).

When I was in Korea I visited the Korean Independence Hall. I got the sense that the Koreans don’t like Japan all that much. Japan trying to stomp out Korean language and culture might have something to do with it.

But it also goes back further. For instance, in 1592 Japan wanted to attack China and go through Korea to do it, the Koreans told the Japanese to get bent. Japan invaded Korea. After six years the Japanese gave up because it wasn’t working out too well for them (this was a cause of the rise of the Tokugawa Shogunate).

347 The thing it, this is basically the same playbook the NBA used decades ago -- successfully -- to pitch and promote the new "bad boys" of the NBA.

The younger audience of mostly males wasn't turning out to watch the NBA as much as their fathers did. So they deliberately turned it into a more thuggish league.

The classy older players like Kareem, Doctor J, and even Larry Bird and MJ were replaced with tattooed thugs and wannabe gangsters, some with serious criminal records -- and who like to beat up women.

It worked. The same play is being run in the WNBA, but with the added drama of ugly racial hatred against white players.

I don't think it will work this time.

The thing is, with Clark and her team you can see that actual BBall is being played, if not as fast or physical as the mens game. Even the *other* team is often running an offense rather than travelling and mebounding. The drama is that the rest of the league does not want to work that hard and is willing to maim the Fever players to restore the status quo.
