The former premier of the Soviet Union once stated "I can prophecy that your grandchildren in America will live under socialism -- Our firm conviction is that sooner or later Capitalism will give way to Socialism. Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you."

And so here we are almost 70 years on and although the Soviet Union is also now the former Soviet Union, existing as it once did as Russia. regardless of the thuggery and corruption of its current leader Vladimir Putin, the question is, was Nikita Khrushchev right, or is the jury still out on his prediction.

Let's take a gander at a few things that might shed some light on the situation. First up, we have the Dairy State, to which I escaped from NYC merely 5 short years ago.

Well, it's nice to believe as some do that Mike Rogers will beat this fiend. But please remember that beyond the base, Michigan's elections are run by Governor Wretched Whitler and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson who were both, especially the latter, instrumental in the thievery that stole the state from Trump and gave it to Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants Biden in 2020 in the middle of the night in Wayne County where election observers were ejected, the windows covered and 18-wheelers full of ballots hauled in.

So, as we close out the week, let's try to end on a much happier note:

Ever since Donald Trump returned to the White House and especially since Trump’s Liberation Day tariff announcement, the economic press has reported that American manufacturing is struggling under President Trump’s tariffs. Even worse: stories have frequently claimed that manufacturing is struggling because of the tariffs. The Wall Street Journal declared manufacturing “in retreat.” The Associated Press said tariffs were “hurting American manufacturers instead of helping them.” Reuters reported that import duties had undercut manufacturing.
There’s just one problem: none of that is happening. If tariffs are hurting American manufacturing, someone forgot to tell the factories.
The Labor Department reported Thursday that manufacturing output rose at a 4.6 percent annual rate in the second quarter. Hours worked increased 2.6 percent. Productivity, which measures output per hour, rose 1.9 percent.

And on top of that, we have this bit of orgasmatronia!

President Donald Trump signed two executive orders Thursday that end birth tourism and expand the definition of who does not qualify for birthright citizenship. . . The first Executive Order non-exhaustively identifies certain categories of children of aliens who are not entitled to birthright citizenship consistent with historical exceptions to birthright citizenship recognized by the Supreme Court in Barbara. The second Executive Order delegates presidential authorities to the Secretary of State and Secretary of Homeland Security and directs them to halt the practice of birth tourism.

Well, I'm sure the lawsuits will start flying and the usual crackpot nutters will threaten SCOTUS justices and their families but who knows? If Roe v. Wade could be nixed, perhaps there's hope that the 14th Amendment could actually be read and upheld as written and intended. My concern isn't necessarily with the Leftists it's mostly the RINOs who will stab us in the back.

So we're in the mass grave or marching to it, but perhaps the first shovel-full of dirt has yet to be dropped on us?

So they scrapped the whole commune deal. Somewhat quickly, because these weren't over-educated retards like from today's "higher" learning. Every family was given a plot of land. They could sell what they grew and made.

First winter - pity food from the natives. Next winter - abundance because you worked to eat. Apparently, they paid off that loan pretty quickly too afterwards.

What happened to the old school Democrat party is not complicated at all - it was based on nothing but thievery and racial grievances, but had managed to gain control of a lot of electoral systems. It had nothing left at all to offer younger voters who it was not serving in any way - but the things it controlled made it a ripe candidate for a takeover.

And that, obviously, is what is happening. I believe a big story in the future will be the revelation that the DSA is almost completely funded and led by the CCP, through intermediaries like Neville Singh. There’s a LOT of dark money behind them.

Here's what I think is most likely but subject to change. R's keep both houses (undeservedly because they're assholes who hate us) but the Democrat "strength" and "energy" is shown by a number of unexpected victories from their loudest contingent.

The story ends up being "yes these people are extreme but the average person is worried and scared about the future and the Democrat Party must start listening to them to win and to make a difference".

This paves the way for (possibly) a bridge candidate who can marry the old establishment'a moderation and money and sense (ha ha) with the open communism, "working person values" and "finger on the pulse" of the new breed.

It *could* be someone totally associated with DSA but I'm not certain of that at all.

Although i certainly don’t like the idea, i have to sympathize with the city councilman. Given that all levels of government are subject to the 1st Amendment, on what legal grounds could they vote to deny?

I think they voted against volunteering for a large and expensive lawsuit they were guaranteed to lose. From a local report on the matter: “The site was already zoned for a place of worship and the plans did not ask for any exemptions from city rules. City staff also noted that it was fully compliant with established city requirements.”

Where I used to routinely see (and narrate) things 5 or 10 years in advance, sometimes these days it's only six months. Or less. And very often I actually undershoot what is going on and they surprise me. But still in the direction I could see.

I didn't say trannies were going away, just that they would fall as the permanent going concern.

I didn't save the comments - and saying it now, it probably doesn't seem like I was seeing or saying much, but I was. And always sounding about as crazy as I do now.

It had been bubbling under the surface and I could see it ready to burst through. Our reality is frighteningly planned. Trump was not part of those plans. Which means God can and does step in any time no matter what I think I "see".

They could have denied the mosque on zoning requirements, easement offsets, whatever bullshit reason they make up. It's done frequently enough with other things a local government doesn't want.

No - against a group with financial backing, you’re not only going to lose in court, you’re going to end up paying a multimillion dollar settlement to them. It’s explicitly stated that the zoning had long approved of such a use for that site.

The legal issue is the same as if in a dominantly Baptist town, can the locals ban the construction of a Mormon church? Or s Jewish synagogue? It’s easy to say “well they’re different “, but under the law, they’re not.

Yes, loss-leader. Head of Costco has gone through great efforts to not change to price of their hot dogs (which is why they got rid of the polish sausage dogs they used to have at their food courts, although I couldn't taste the difference).

When I was on dialysis, I used to make my own...I added NO salt (see how much salt per flour tortilla you buy)...I'd add herbs to it to give it some flavor.

At a guess, burritos assume a certain subset of ingredients whereas wraps are a free-for-all. Otherwise, essentially the same.

I guess you could have a wrap and feel noble that you weren't appropriating Mexican culture.

302 Pork ribs in the pot with cumin, chili powder and a couple of heads of garlic. Cover with water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to just barley a simmer until the water is gone. Pull the bones out, shred the meat and scape some of the stuff on the bottom of the pan into a hot skillet to get the shreds crisp.

Roll the shredded pork along with what you want into a flour tortilla and top it with the fried stuff. ...Buuurp...enjoy.
