Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Senate Panel Votes to Hold Fauci in Contempt, as Democrats Attempt to Stop The Vote Through Endless DelaySenate Republicans moved to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress in their pursuit of forcing the former architect of the nation's COVID-19 response to go on record about his actions leading up to and during the pandemic. The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee voted on sharp party lines to charge Fauci, the former chief medical advisor to the president, with contempt after he refused to answer questions from both sides of the aisle over fear of self-incrimination. The move follows Fauci's decision to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights more than 100 times during his hearing last week, which prompted the panel's chair, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., to vow that he would face "repercussions" for not testifying, or at least how Paul envisioned.Fox is implying that Fauci did testify, just "not as Paul envisioned." Fox News is as liberal as CNN. I despise them.

I ran across an argument that the rise of the DSA is really just a direct by product of the overproduction of people with degrees the market does not want.
And the data backs this up - the strongest supporters of socialism are highly degreed people making little money and the biggest opponents aren't the rich as a whole, but people without an advanced degree making good money... Interestingly the answer to that, which few in the GOP are talking about, would be to force colleges to lower costs and point kids to useful degrees... Bannon did and the case was whether executive privilege could be asserted even from a past presidency, Biden could have waived it but didn't. Fauci's problem was analyzed and it started with his opening statement--depending on whether courts find Congressional hearings analogous to court trials, once you open your mouth on the stand to make a statement then you waived your 5th Amendment right. The second is that he was pardoned for likely testimony--again, depends on how it is treated by courts as to whether that pardon made his testimony compellable. The thing that pisses me off the most about the blanket pardon of Fauci is that it covers EVERY federal crime.
Fauci could have laundered money, cheated on his taxes, engaged in terrorism, put gasoline in a glass container, burned tires on his property, engaged in espionage, given national security secrets to anybody, trafficked children, guns and drugs across borders, copulate with a bald eagle, and carry fully automatic suppressed SBRs without a background check or license. There is not a single federal crime that he could have committed boldly and proudly and not face any threat of prosecution. I'm not sure going after Brix achieves much. The media retards have painted Rand Paul as off the rails with his intent to hold Fauci in contempt. The Democrats did their typical stunts to derail that.
Brix is (arguably) a more sympathetic target. Whatever she might divulge isn't going to put Fauci any closer to prison. And putting her in jail might backfire. I've said this before; there are a lot of people, from Congress who authorized the bullshit Fauci recommended, down to the governors and mayors who implemented the lockdowns, to law enforcement, judges, store owners, medical professionals, etc. who are all equally guilty of many different abuses. I have yet to read a single article on anything Fauci was ever competent to do. I think he was a faker the entirety of his miserable career. He seems like the over educated low level functionary that was politically astute enough to cover for his failures and lacunae and move up the power structure to make more money and fame, without ever actually accomplishing anything.
My boss at USACE was exactly this sort. Managed to squeak by on other, more competent workers' accomplishments and get himself into a management position that could cover for his inability to actually do the technical work. Then used that position to smack down anyone who might show him up. Government hierarchies are made for that kind of crap-weaseling. Posted by: tcn in AK at August 06, 2026 03:03 PM (hfIju) 185

The Spanish flu was scary in that the reason it worked like it did is that it set off an overreaction in the immune system of healthy people (cytokine storm.) So it was far more deadly to say a 21 year old dude or gal, than a person whose immune system was already compromised, because their immune response to it was less. 191 RFK claims that both Lyme Disease and RSV originated from gain of function research.
Naturally, the self-appointed fact checkers claim there is no evidence this is true. Because the government always tells the truth. Posted by: JackStraw ---------------- On the face, it would really be a stretch. They do GoF two ways -- gene insertion, and serial passage. Lyme was before we had the tech for gene insertion, and even serial passage requires gene insertion into whatever media you are using as host. For example, they make mice with human genes to give them the right receptors to be relevant, and then they do serial passage using generations of mice. All that was not possible when Lyme was first found. So, not saying impossible, but he has to provide extraordinary evidence for it to be believable. Russia had big investment in blaming US for creating AIDS because they understood it would cleave off blacks (who don't trust gov and were one of the big early victims) and make them become marxist.
