Well, now my willowed post is on-topic here: Anyway - if you look at enough of these videos, cooking, baking and the like, you see that the thumbnail advice to Creators is to have a woman holding food in the thumbnail. That's like 85% of these videos. They hold the food, they present the food, I guess it gets clicks or literally everyone wouldn't be doing it. So obviously not the case in the ones where it's men. I think the men generally just show the food. But just go with me. Posted by: ... I went to the Celtic Festival in Monterey, California. They had this bagpipe marching band. The guy who lead it was a very tall, black-skinned dude dressed in dark-green tartans. Impressive as hell. I wouldn’t have asked him for cab fare, lest he would’ve kicked my ass and ground it with his heel into the dirt.

It is harder for a rich man to get into Heaven than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, but with God all things are possible,
Here’s the catch, we are almost all rich, by Biblical standards. If you don’t know where your next meal is coming from you are poor, hence “Give us our daily bread.” If you know where your next meal is coming from you’re not poor, but not rich. If you know where tomorrow’s food is coming from, by Biblical standards, you are rich. Thank God that with God, all things are possible. Praise God! Post traumatic salmon disorder from all those salmon croquettes my mother would make on Fridays during Lent. She’d used that nasty canned salmon that had those little crunchy vertebrae. I loved my sainted mother but she was no Betty Crocker. Posted by: TxAnn at July 31, 2026 11:30 PM (SjAWL) 199

>> Cousin chart:
I didn't like that because it used "grand uncle" and so forth. That was never common usage, the brother of your grandparent is a great uncle. And that's pretty standard. However it turns out genealogists actually prefer "grand" for that level because of the symmetry with grandparents. So they use that and say to hell with common usage. Tousi says reports are that over 120,000 military-age Muslim males have invaded these cities in just TWO DAYS. Camp of the Saints, anyone?
And they're already flooding into Barcelona. The locals are freaking out. Posted by: Beverly at July 31, 2026 11:14 PM (reMys) If there are that many, someone has organized this... there is money behind it somewhere... or at least some organization. Lots of good musicians played for Lumber Fusion over the years, but they couldn't stay together long. Splintered into various factions.

Speaking of the cousin thing, I laughed my butt off at a story my mother's first roommate told me. She was trying to figure out who we were (turns out we were related through my maternal grandmother's mother's side). Anyway, trying to get a handle on who my local neigbors were, she knew one well, and told a funny story. He hit on her in a bar, not knowing who she was. They were second cousins, and she knew it. She let him go on for a while, even leading him on a bit, then dropped a mention of "aunt so-and-so"... She said he got a look on his face, and then she confirmed the relation. That just stopped him dead in his tracks, and he slinked off. Now, if he knew I knew that, he would be mortified. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (w6EFb) at July 31, 2026 11:35 PM (w6EFb) 209
