Paul Orders Fauci Attorney Removed From Hearing
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., ordered one of Dr. Anthony Fauci's attorneys removed from a Senate hearing Wednesday after the former White House chief medical adviser repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during questioning about the COVID-19 pandemic.
The confrontation unfolded before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, where the Kentucky Republican had subpoenaed Fauci to testify about the origins of the coronavirus and the federal government's response to the pandemic, reports The Hill.
Before questioning began, Fauci criticized Paul, accusing the committee chairman of being intent on securing his prosecution.

"The only conclusion I can reach is that the sole reason he is calling me before this committee is to get me to say something, anything that could vindicate his repeated public pledges that I end up in his words 'behind bars,'" Fauci said.
When Paul began questioning him, Fauci repeatedly declined to answer, invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. He gave the same response to questions from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla.
Meanwhile, the hearing briefly descended into a procedural dispute when one of Fauci's attorneys, David Schertler, repeatedly attempted to address the committee without being recognized by the chairman.
Paul said Schertler had been instructed not to sit at the witness table with Fauci and was not authorized to participate in the hearing, reports The New York Post.
"You will respect these proceedings. You were told not to sit at the table. You insist on sitting at the table, and we told you you would not be recognized. You are not invited here for testimony, sir. You are being disruptive," Paul told Schertler.
"Would you behave this way in a courtroom? No, because the judge would put you in jail. I can't do that today. But I can have you escorted from the premises," added Paul.
After Schertler continued trying to speak, Paul added, "There's a row behind you, sir. That's where you were told to sit … and now you're disrupting the proceedings."
"This is the way Anthony Fauci wants to be remembered: for a lawyer not listening to the rules," Paul continued. "That's the way you want to be remembered, and that's what you're going to do."
Paul then directed security to escort Schertler from the hearing room, saying, "Let the record state that Dr. Fauci will still have the advice of the other half a dozen attorneys that he brought along today."

I do not have enough disgust for the sanctimonious and megalomaniac "Doctor" Fauci and his shyster mouth piece Schertler.

I'll say this for Hitler. He was open and honest compared to Anthony Fauci. And that is my rant for the day.

He certainly benefited, but I always suspected it was because too many minorities were starting their own businesses and beginning to build generational wealth that would make them free from the dem plantation. I think it took time for *biden's staff to consolidate their power. *biden was mentally crippled from the day he and the Democrats stole the election (with an assist from the GOP) and it was they who needed time to get set up.

The covid op gave cover for them. I'm somewhat surprised they didn't prolong it... but the economy was crashing and people were beginning to realize it was nowhere near a bad as the government said it was.

Still, it was a very successful operation into finding how far the Feds could go with getting the public to comply with some seriously asinine mandates.

My grands are very socialized and hauled to restaurants and travel from infancy (8 &5yrs). While I initially protested the daycare at the parish, they have made friends and it's been good for them. Confident kids who have fun.

A stark difference in the sheltered children of friends they know and recently went on a cruise with. Those kids, ages 4yrs and 2yrs are messes, having no social interaction. Partially due to covid. Partially due to their attorney mother who is Puerto Rican and apparently nuts. The father is my son's friend and a nice guy.

They scream if they don't get their way. Are shy with people (except when the 2yr old refuses to stay in his high chair and they think it's cute for him to go to other's tables at dinner). It's not cute when they tantrum in public. Son said never again. They also scream in bed til midnight, even at home. The Scream Cruise.

Vocabulary is limited. A totally different aspect of our grands in every way. I had vague hope that the parents might see the huge difference but apparently they did not and "want to plan another vacation." Not bloody likely.

We all got covid in Big Sky, Montana skiing from the toddler grandson who'd been in daycare (no masking, thank goodness for some sanity for toddlers). It was a cold. His father was the sickest and we all drove home.

We'd all decided that it was not going to stop us from life or travel. Later that year we went to Sun Valley and there was masking for Octoberfest. Except, of course, when you sat to eat as the virus could not touch you then (which was the most retarded rule of all).

Outside we did not mask but saw others doing it and I wanted to point and laugh but am polite. Hiking we saw masks and they would almost fall off trails to avoid us unmasked peasant vectors.

We had fun. I realized early on the dropping dead chy knees people was bs. It was not the Influenza of 1918, thank God. Nor ebola. It was a cold...and I say this being prone to bronchitis.

In '19, I was considering getting out of OR, watching the "by hook or by crook" leftist takeover. I opposed mail-in ballots when it was voted in, and I predicted, verified by '20, that - now "counted" by county employees who's rice bowl was involved - that no bond measure would ever fail. By '20, I was actively looking. Spurred on by the eager adoption of more and more authoritarian covid rules, I pulled the trigger in late '20. Since a significant amount of remodeling was wanted in the new place, it took almost 6 months to fully move. We took.multiple trips between AZ and OR and the contrast was vivid. In OR, masked single drivers were the norm, in small town NE AZ, at its height, less than half of the people were masked outside, or in any venue without a legal requirement, like govt offices. The exception was the Reservations, where they were hit pretty hard,I believe due to a combination of genetic susceptibility and tightly communal living.
