Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Wednesday Morning Rant![]() Give credit to more sensible Democrats like Sen. John Fetterman and old Clinton hand James Carville who see the DSA slipping into the DNC like a skinsuit, and recognize the danger...The danger isn't hard to recognize. It has a great big red flashing arrow reading "DANGER" pointing right at it. What is astounding is that many seem to be surprised by it. How can men like Carville - or even those on the right (pseudo or otherwise) - be surprised by these developments? The PJ Media article touches on it, albeit as a simple lament: The advantage we hold -- at least for now -- over the DSA, is that they have spokesweasels like Romer going to TV, actually trying to sell a radical agenda wholesale instead of piecemeal. Today's voters won't have it, but what about tomorrow's voters, the ones who were never taught American history or civics? This is why those generations are not taught anything recognizable as history or civics. This was the point. This is why the Left did their Gramscian March. The March has been grinding on for decades, designed to bring us to where we are now. The core issue - and it's one that has been obvious for at least a decade, even for those only paying casual attention - is that the March has to end eventually. If they spend decades subverting, capturing and refocusing institutions, they must take their gains at some point. The March depends on a stage of final conversion. In that final stage, they collect their winnings and use them to formally do away with the old system and replace it with the new one. Once most means of effective opposition are destroyed, they must formalize what they built. The Long March must be followed by the Rapid Conversion. The sticking point is the question of when. Not everyone in the coalition will be on board at the same time and universally agree that the time to attempt Conversion has come. The last time it seemed to come up in earnest was under Obama, and the non-Conversionists won that round. The March continued, albeit a bit a faster. The drive to Conversion was accelerated, but Conversion was not attempted. There is a generational issue at play, as well, in that the people to whom they've promised Conversion will eventually demand it. When that time comes, the Marchers have to deliver and become Conversionists or they will be destroyed by the Conversionists they so carefully bred. The conflict over Conversion must occur because first a plurality and then possibly an outright majority will demand it if the March was successful. It will be brutal and violent and filled with infighting, but it will have to happen no matter what. It's the logical end state of the March. Carville and those like him believe that the Conversion should for now remain where it has always been: in the future. Those in this camp believe that the March is not yet done, there is not yet enough control to pursue Conversion, and that attempting it now is high-risk and may result in defeat and it is reckless for the entitled Party youngsters to conflate their privileged status with actual power when the Marchers are still the rightful shot-callers. The DSA and those like them believe that those like Carville are fuddy-duddy Boomers who don't know what time it is, that Conversion needs to happen now or it will fail because the March is finished and is increasingly subject to outsider threats by regressive sub-human wreckers - and besides, they're owed it. The Marchers promised Conversion, and it's time to deliver - or else. I don't know which camp is correct, but it was obvious that they had to reach this point. The Marchers spent decades cultivating radical, amoral (at best) monster babies and their efforts brought stupendous success. They got an entire generation of monster babies, and it was a mega-generation at that. The Millennials are a radical generation, lovingly crafted by the Marchers to be aggressively progressive - and it worked. The Marchers developed them and promised them victory. Now that they're middle-aged, the Millennials are moving into positions of real power and as they move up, they want to realize what they were promised - and they have the extra motivation of an aggressive push from below by their even more radical (if numerically smaller and much less monolithic) younger cohorts. The March is not yet quite in the rearview mirror, but it is in its endgame. Conversion will be attempted, and the only remaining open questions are "when" and "will it work?" I don't know, but I think Carville is whistling past the graveyard and knows it. He and his kind spent decades promising Conversion - and their monster babies are getting tired of waiting. It is worth remembering that the Boomers were similarly divided between the radical left and the majority of more conservative people. The radicals all got jobs in academia, media, and politics, but their world view got demolished by Reagan. Most Boomers became stockbrokers, got mortgages and kids, and in general, became propagators of traditional Americanism. I am hopeful something similar is brewing.

I don't think the rise of the DSA and guys like Neville Singham being investigated are a coincidence.
It takes money and resources to fund a march and what we've learned recently about Cuba and Singham, which is shorthand for the CCP, it seems pretty clear a lot of the DSA momentum is do to foreign funding. Posted by: JackStraw at July 29, 2026 11:19 AM (viF8m) 11

2020 was the first attempt to do that. They wanted a complete collapse of the economy worldwide and civil conflict. That's why they were grooming red cadre military guys like Milley, et al. The problem I have with the Fauci grilling is that it's kind of like how they handled Hitler. They put it ALL on ONE GUY. So he's the fall guy. In reality, Fauci is just another puppet, working for larger, darker forces, who escape being exposed. When I hear Republicans say it was all to feed Fauci's personal megamania and bank accounts, it's just disgusting.
Ask, "Why are the Dems so unanimously on Fauci's side?" Their states were harmed more than red states! Fauci was part of a REPUBLICAN administration! Why aren't they trying to pin this on TRUMP!?! This is a MEDICAL matter, right? [sarc] The answer is because they work for the same puppeteers that pulled Fauci's strings, and Trump is their worst enemy. Why does the DSA message resonate?
Because the vast majority of Republicans offer nothing. No alternative message. They do nothing. Because we don't have leaders*, we have managers. They didn't "come up" through America--they were born in the C-suite. Their loyalty is to their caste, not to their country. * except Trump. And oh how much they hate him for that. So much of their seething hatred is born from exposing that they'd rather safely manage the decline of America than take a stand, any stand at all, to protect and save her. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
The difference is the old standard-bearer of Democratic socialism was old, ugly, angry Bernie Sanders almost incoherently screeching about "Wall Street." He was like the frowning, scowling, smelly uncle screaming at trees that nobody wanted to invite to family events. But even then, Bernie probably woulda been the Democrap nominee in 2016 -- if he didn't take a dive for Hillary. The newer gen of Dem socialists are younger, mostly better looking, more dynamic, with generally more positive messages, and much more media-savvy. Of course this is a much better "pitch" to voters. It also comes at the right time when the country is staggeringly wealthy and there's an entire younger generation of over-educated but under-qualified "downwardly mobile elites" who want the CEO's salary but don't want to work for it. The old decrepit wing of the Democrap party will cling to power until it's ripped from their dying hands. But that day is coming. They have only seen inequality and they want better things for all." Then - "you know, at one time, the dominant parties thought Civil Rights was extreme. Maybe it's just a matter of perspective." Etc etc etc and on and on and yawn and yawn I already have the whole movie in my head. That's just the next few. Carville and company's only concern is who on the Democrat side has their hands on the levers of power. It really doesn't matter what the DSA would do with it. It's that Carville, etc. would lose their ability to tell people what to do, and more importantly, grift for themselves.

An excellent post.
I'm old(er) and view Carville as just trying to keep riding high on his War Room persona & antics of yesteryear. He, Bill & Hillary, George Stephanopoulos, many other old American heads still floating around are done governing anything & anyone - unless they're sending big money. Fetterman is from PA, had young parents who worked for their success. He attended great schools, married a woman who came with her mom & brother to the US illegally, & they now have 3 kids in private school. But ALL in their household routinely interface with 'common' people. Millennials are a different, crafted species altogether. In institutional power, they may have deeply progressive views on climate change, economic inequality, and social justice, but their methods will shift toward policy, legislation, and bureaucratic management. Much of their political focus may be structural reforms to affordability & family support systems & rewriting internal rules of governance & corporate culture instead of tearing it down. But their children will also be quite different governing: 👉Generation Alpha: The Radical Trajectory And a radical Conversion WILL happen, radically. None of this amounts to a pot of piss because nobody is ready to engage in the level of violence required to shift the tides.

I need a clarification on Republicans and not fighting. If you vote republican you are part of the party. Where is it not the obligation of all Republicans to fight?

Fauci got a blanket pardon for things up to the date of the pardon. Put aside the robo-pen issues and assume it's a valid pardon.
Because he has a pardon Fauci can't plead the Fifth so he has to testify truthfully. Paul could set him up with a perjury trap. Or Fauci would need to sing like a canary. But hold on -- Fauci might argue that Joe's pardon is only for federal crimes so he still has exposure on past crimes and needs the Fifth. This gets into the weeds, and I'm not a criminal lawyer. Paul's next move is to hold Fauci in criminal contempt and jail him until he testifies. This happens to journalists who are protecting their sources. I'll take the bet that no judge will interfere in this. Going to jail is for contempt is Fauci's best move. Posted by: Ignoramus at July 29, 2026 12:11 PM (dtajH) 162

"The real working class in this country want nothing to do with the DSA. The ones who are attracted are the college grads who partied for four years "
Working Class of all ages outnumber College Grads by 2 to 1. The big shift is how the Leftists have driven the white working class out of their historic home in the D party. It's why Trump's been elected three times Posted by: Ignoramus at July 29, 2026 12:18 PM (dtajH) 164
@130
>>So he plead the 5th for future crimes not covered by the pardon. But did he put the pardon itself at risk for not answering anything? There is no precedent of testing the limits or contours of a Presidential Pardon, so he's under no jeopardy. But that does not mean the limits of his pardon should not be challenged. Those in this camp believe that the March is not yet done, there is not yet enough control to pursue Conversion
Actually, for some number of them, they think the Conversion is already done. They wanted to halt the train at the last stop. They just wanted to knock down enough of the old to get to that point, then they wanted to get off. These are the people that idiots claim are "red-pilled" because they only want gays and not trans-folk - like JK Rowling. They're still socialists or Progressives, but they didn't want the full Gramscian March. And most of them don't realize that once they get the train going to the stop they desire, it has to keep going - going back to their stop will eventually bring them right back here some time in the future. It has to. That is the purpose of the journey. Posted by: GWB at July 29, 2026 12:36 PM (kU0PQ) 166
Anyone *stupid* enough to believe in a $30 minimum wage can't be reasoned with.
Or 15. Anyone who has lived longer than that should realize from experience that all you get out of that is the $75 Happy Meal and the $10 can of Coke. Posted by: Azjaeger at July 29, 2026 12:47 PM (3/XaG) 167
This is excellent. It describes exactly what is going on and what has been going on for the last two generations. We are seeing actual socialists become elected. I also wonder when we'll reach the point they think "time for the Revolution".
