Former DSA Member: We Started This Moderate, Wholesome Socialist Group But It Got Taken Over by Extremist Communists, Somehow

Really? I'm so surprised. Leftwing movements are never taken over by some kind of, oh, let's say "Bolshevik Faction."

Former Democratic Socialists of America member Jake Altman offered an inside look Saturday at the organization he says has been overtaken by communists -- warning the same playbook is now being used to push the Democratic Party further to the left.
"Their organization has been captured..." Altman told Fox News.
"One of my real concerns is that we see a lot of resistance to anti-communism within the DSA, even from the moderate wing of the DSA, and I think this is very, very dangerous."
Speaking on "Saturday in America," Altman warned the organization is anything but "harmless," claiming its members are "perfectly willing to cohabitate with Maoists, with Trotskyists, with Leninists" -- groups he said are intent on dismantling American institutions.
"People who want to pull down American institutions and are very clear about it. People who have this thrill to violence. That is just profoundly troubling at a time when our country is already facing many, many problems," he said.
Altman also said some aspects of the group raised his eyebrows nearly 10 years ago when, while participating in a debate on the organization's behalf, he questioned whether he was the best person to represent its trajectory.
At the time, he claimed, he was reassured that the organization's increasingly radical direction was being driven by only a small faction clustered around "Jacobin" magazine.
"I was debating with Leninists who were saying Bernie Sanders isn't a socialist, and now we're hearing that from DSA, right? Bernie Sanders, AOC, they're not real socialists," he recalled.
"So I think this is just the level of extremism and radicalism we're seeing. People in DSA will try to minimize it and say it's just a few people... they're a small minority. But... look at the executive board. It's full of this alphabet soup of extremist caucuses."
Altman urged Democrats to stand up against a "radicalized base," as far-left DSA candidates secure wins nationwide.
"These people are not operating in good faith," he said. "DSA members are not in the Democratic Party to operate in good faith."

Even Arch-Race-Lefty Van Jones is alarmed about his totally-not-communist Democrat Party being taken over by communists.

But what does universal healthcare have to do with Hamas? With abolishing all law enforcement? With erasing all borders? With treating every wealthy person as a villain? Ideas matter. And these are terrible ideas."

When pushed whether he would consider those who make $250,000 per year as working class, he said, "I haven't asked myself where it starts and stops.
"What I would say is those who are working to try and afford the basic dignities of life and aren't able to do so, I think that that is also working class. Oftentimes we're asked how we divide this country. I think there's only one majority in this country -- it's the working class," he then rambled.
Confused by the convoluted reponse, Garcia-Navarro admitted that Hizzoner's description didn't seem to "ring true," to her.
"It just seems a very easy answer to what is a complicated question," the reporter fought back. "Because politically, if you're saying everyone is the working class, or anyone that gets a salary is the working class, yes, that opens up your tent. But practically speaking, we are divided by income -- and especially if you want to tax people, where you draw those lines matter."
Mamdani then said he would draw the line at around $1 million per year -- which Garcia-Navarro pointed out could alienate potential voters such as a janitor who he's lumped in the same "working class" category as a successful lawyer.

I associate with a lost of leftwing LIVs that makes strong 6 figures and will claim to be middle class.

Their argument is after paying for a multi-million dollar house, two new cars, a couple of overseas a vacation a year, and "help" at home they can barely make ends meet and are taxed too much.

A lot of times, single soldiers who lived in the barracks would get these forced leave situations and they would be stuck in their rooms for a couple of weeks or the chain of command would practically kick them out of the barracks saying "go visit Mom" when these troops had no family to visit. Not to mention no cash to get a plane ticket or hotel room.

Lots of extended camping trips was the result. I know that I did one of those forced leaves staying in the woods for nearly 2 weeks, camping out of my truck at one of the lakes on post.

They spend half their time just handling disruptions from misbehaving kids, and then have to worry about how they react to this misbehavior based upon school district rules on handling behavioral issues. They spend half their time just handling disruptions from misbehaving kids, and then have to worry about how they react to this misbehavior based upon school district rules on handling behavioral issues. Being rich or even somewhat wealthy is largely self-selecting. Working hard, frugality, skill in capital allocation, all help. A tendency to work hard regardless of how much money a person has gives a greater chance of becoming wealthy and staying there. These often aren't calculated decisions but habits and natural tendencies.
