This past week a black bear helped himself to lunch at the PX on JBER. It happens. Automatic doors don't do much to protect from wildlife.

Every year, a moose or two come into Providence Hospital to eat the indoor plants in the dead of winter. Probably kinda tasty that time of year.

Meanwhile, the contractor wants to start demolition next week, so moving out of my kitchen, laundry and bathroom. And, moving the boy out of the condo, hiring a family lawyer to counteract the baby mama trying to end his parental rights to my grandson, weeding the garden and processing cucumbers, and lets see what else the hell God has for me this week.

This summer is just everything all at once.

I'm considering coming out of retirement so I can find a job and rest up a bit. Not really, but honestly!

A relative of mine works in "special education" at a Northern California school district. Her classes are 90% children of (illegal) immigrants -- but almost no black kids. Why not? According to her, "it is illegal to give an IQ test to a black student in California" (due to a CA court case several years back from a black mother who claimed IQ tests were racist -- she won). As a result, it is not possible to measure or know any black student's IQ. And since they are usually giving automatic-A inflated grades in most regular classes, the black kids simply don't quality for Special Ed, which require either a low IQ or a low grade point average in her district. Hence, no black kids in her classes.

lessee - horse artillery is artillery where all the men are mounted on horses. Horses pull the guns in both flavors.

Whereas Mule artillery I believe is a small howitzer gun that can be packed on the back of one mule for very rough terrain.
