Saturday Night Club ONT - July 11, 2026 [D&D]

outdoor-bar.jpg

Welcome to Club ONT - a collaboration of The Disco and The Dino. We built this place for you so you can have some fun. Come in in, grab a drink or 3. Keep it light and friendly. Jerks need not enter the premises (the moose out front is keeping track and you do NOT want to disappoint the moose).

Saturday Night Jokes and Other Funnies

My wife asked me to see a psychologist about my anger issues.

The doctor asked, “If a train was coming down the hallway toward you, what would you do?”

I replied, “I’d get in my helicopter and fly away.”

The doctor asked, “Where did you get a helicopter?”

I replied, “The same fuckin’ place you got that train from!”

-----

"Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl."

The priest asks, "Is that you, little Joey Pagano?"

"'Yes, Father, it is."

"And who was the girl you were with?"

"I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation."

"Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?"

"I cannot say."

"Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?"

"I'll never tell."

"Was it Nina Capelli?"

"I'm sorry, but I cannot name her."

"Was it Cathy Piriano?"

"My lips are sealed."

"Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?"

"Please, Father, I cannot tell you."

The priest sighs in frustration. "You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself."

Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, "What'd you get?"

"Four months vacation and five good leads!"

Drink of the Night

Today is 7/11, so go grab a Slurpee! Not just ANY Slurpee. One fit for The Club!

Hard Slurpee®

hard-slurpee.jpg

Did we just mix a Slurpee drink with booze? You bet we did and it’s delicious.

Grab your favorite Slurpee flavors, add some ice-cold booze and voila! You’ve just reached Hard Slurpee status. Easy, right? It’s like they practically make themselves. So, why are you still reading this? Get that liquor in the freezer, grab a Slurpee drink and start mixing things up. We’ve got our own Hard Slurpee cocktail to make.

7-eleven suggests a few varieties

Party Fuel Hard Slurpee
½ cherrysthebomb.com Slurpee
½ Bloop Razzle Slurpee
2 oz. ice-cold vodka

Poolside Colada Hard Slurpee
½ Pinata Colada Slurpee
½ Peelin’ Out Slurpee
2 oz. ice-cold rum

Sundae Funday Hard Slurpee
½ cherrysthebomb.com Slurpee
½ Peelin’ Out Slurpee Slurpee
2 oz. ice-cold vodka

Freeze vodka / rum before using. Mix after pouring.

Bear enters mall on Alaska military base, poops on floor

A black bear wandered into the shopping mall on Alaska's Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to eat a single peach and defecate on the floor before leaving.

The bear was caught on camera entering the Exchange shopping mall on the base - which is commonly known by the acronym JBER, pronounced "J-bear" - about 9 a.m. Sunday.

The bear entered the Commissary, ate a single peach and pooped on the floor before vacating the building, officials said.

Sting and Rufus Wainwright Wrapped around your finger 720p
https://youtu.be/6scVohi0TYI

With a little research, I have determined that this was from Sting's 60th birthday party, a 4-hour charity concert at the Beacon Theater in Manhattan on October 1, 2011. It's such a stunning rendition, I now consider it the definitive version of the song, much better than his original studio recording with The Police. I'm passing on this little bit of serendipity, and hope my fellow Nightwalkers enjoy it too.

92 This is so appalling I'm gonna put it in the ONT comments instead of a daytime news thread.

Long original, article in Breitbart (3000 words?) today:

"Los Angeles Gives Free Pass to Illegal Alien Food Vendors While Restaurants Get Fined or Even Shut Down"

You assumed that? Me too, but the DETAILS are just horrific, imo.

The Cliff Notes:

1) Licensed restaurants, and food trucks, pay appx ONE THIRD of their gross revenues for licensing, safety inspections, mandatory insurance, complying with fire and safety codes, taxes, employee minimum wage requirements, etc.

2) Illegal alien food stands pay none of that, of course. No required refrigeration, no hand washing, etc. These "illegal (?) operations" are spreading like wildfire, including into affluent neighborhoods. Often they set up shop in front of restaurants. Licensed restaurants are going out of business all over LA-- in yuuge numbers.

3) The City Council and Mayor Bass have explained, indeed legislated, that illegal food stands are EXEMPT from code enforcement, and have instructed police not to cite them or bother them. The rationale?

94 Yeah I've seen a few people wearing masks when shopping lately. I sure hope local stores don't make them mandatory again.

Last go around I 'complied', cuz I didn't want to make life extra difficult for the retail staff. I was one of many who kept the same worthless surgical mask in my purse and pulled it out and put it on right at store doorways. No way that was protecting me, nor preventing me from spreading germs if I had happened to be sick. I quit the charade when they said "don't have to mask if you are vaccinated" --(they didn't know I was not vaccinated)

If there is a repeat I will enter stores unmasked and if challenged I will point out that the mask is not pristine and is only theater as I put it on.

The worst would be if the idiots at my work decided they can't have us WFH again but they do need people to wear a mask; that might push me into "well, good luck keeping things running, here's my retirement notice"

At the ER, well, she looked like she'd been in the ring for a round or two with Mike Tyson. Two massive black eyes and a knot on her forehead the size of a turkey egg. And a gash on her left knee. Lots of blood loss for that, and more units of blood required.

And now completely out of her head and agitated, trying to move around, and reaching for phantom things all around.

129 Mom and her sister made awesome lime daiquiris-- in the freezer. No blender, and it came out nice & slushy because of much rum.

Sadly, Mom didn't pass along the recipe! I sort of remember that she used a couple of cans of frozen limeade concentrate, maybe a lemonade also, and 1/2 (or whole?) bottle of rum. Likely Bacardi silver, but not sure. Mixed it all up in a metal bowl and put in freezer for a while, stirred once in a while to check for slushiness..

Auntie is a total Karen, absolutely TDS, so we haven't spoken for several years-- her choice. Sad.

The nursing home couldn't put a railing on her bed. Oh, no, that would be "restraint", and that's a legal no-no (much horrific abuse in the past is the reason for this, but no common sense in applying it).

They finally got her out of the ER and in room by mid afternoon. Brought her something to eat. Well, Miley and I had to spoon feed her. She did eat a good bit, which was good. And then whole time, well she was trying to use her hands, but it wasn't working too well. We had to hold her arms down just to get food in her mouth.

After that, she continued to flail around, yanking tube and wires off all the time. Finally the nurse got some "mittens", made for this purpose. They keep the hands from being able to do much damage. But the "restraint" thing applies there as well, so they can be removed by someone who has presence of mind, but luckily she doesn't have enough.

So we left her around 9PM, both of us exhausted. And she was still flailing around. They gave her some sort of sedative, but diddly squat it apparently did.

I thought my father could be a real pill, and he was, and my mother was always so sweet and cooperative. No more.

161 Well, just got back from the hospital. Absolute disaster with my mother in the nursing home early this morning. Out of her head, and thinking no telling what, as I was figuring would happen at some point, she tried to get up out of bed. She fell. Big time.

163 141 People use the minority owned biz loans (8A) IIRC to get a six figure biz loan and piss most of it away on lifestyle upgrades. Not their food truck biz. After several months, a year, whatever they file for bankruptcy. They apply for another 8A loan under their wife's name, next is the brother, then the sister, then... SBA doesn't look into the bankruptcy issue much.

$750K house, luxury cars, clothes, etc. and they run a food truck? Uh huh.
Posted by: Martini Farmer at July 11, 2026 11:09 PM (jehhT)

I don’t know about 8A, I was advised to get a 7a. It was no walk in the park to get approved, at all. I ended up needing J to co-sign because I didn’t have $250k in the bank. Not retirement, not net worth. Money. I didn’t have it anywhere else, either, mind you. Which is why I get super frustrated with what ever happened to allow these other loans to be given out the way they are described. I wonder which banks gave them. And SBA backed debt is not as easily discharged in bankruptcy as other debt, either.

This is actually Great News and Trump can return to the Supreme Court w/r/t the 14th Amendment. The retarded "Justice" said that illegals were "subject to the jurisdiction" so that justified birth right citizenship.

But clearly, the illegals are officially, by means of recognition of the prevailing city government, not under US jurisdiction, nor of the state of California being that they are not subject to any of the laws, regulations, licensing, etm.

Illegals, are, de-facto not subject to the jurisdiction as evidence by the official statements of the government of California. Therefore their anchor children are not subject either and can be deported and denied US citizenship.

190 Reading a letter from Ben Franklin to his daughter and came upon a gem of wisdom concerning the Chinese idea of "ascending honor". In a nutshell, when the Emperor promoted someone to the status of Mandarin, that honor was simultaneously awarded to the parents, owing to the upbringing and examples they set. The honor did not extend to the descendants. They had to make their own way.

His take on descending honor explains a lot of what is wrong with our world. In his words:

But the descending honor, to a posterity who could have no share in obtaining it, is not only groundless and absurd, but often hurtful to that posterity, since it is apt to make them proud, disdaining to be employed in useful arts, and thence falling into poverty, and all the meannesses, servility, and wretchedness attending it; which is the present case with much of what is called the noblesse in Europe. Punching back at Iran is one thing, pissing off the Muslim world is another. The West has far too many jihadists and Muslim terrorists to expand the war to Islam in that direct sort of way.

I suspect the reason why the DoW hasn't gone after mosques because they are likely harboring weapons and leadership and should therefore be a legitimate target, is that right now, there is relatively low-level church burnings. That would likely escalate and that escalation would likely start crossing some heritage American's threshold and then Katy Bar The Door.

Maybe that is what we need. But every level of government in the West is anti-Christian and will move Heaven and Earth to defend Muslims and their mosques.

I just looked up the laws on "restraint". Long story short, I can see why nobody wants to do it. Too much legal liability.

These laws were passed in response to horrific abuses (think some patient tied down in a nursing home, wallowing in their own filth being abused by staff, etc). But no common sense apparently can be applied.

It technically can be done, but it requires a doctor's order, and a given order can only last for a short period, and must be continuously reviewed. Tons of documentation are required, and every 'i' must be dotted and every 't' crossed. Anything not order will expose them to all sorts of legal liability, fines galore, and even criminal liability.

So, no one wants to expose themselves to that.

I suppose it's true. If the crusade starts, you can't quit until the enemy is rendered completely not a threat, which in Ishlame's case might just mean eradicated.

Reminds me of what that Japan fellow warned about hitting Pearl Harbor, that they'd have to keep going from California to the East coast.

245 I read about a university study years ago where they hooked senior citizens into harnesses and put them on a treadmill and tripped them on purpose (the harness kept them from falling). The upshot was that just a little bit of time on the trip-treadmill had remarkable results. The seniors were much more able to catch themselves and less likely to get hurt badly.

I also picture the young college student in that lab whose job it was to trip the old folks. They must have felt awful!

And the "military" leadership is the IRGC, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The regular military seems to be keeping their heads down. Perhaps USA and Israel should reach out discreetly to the Admirals and Generals, and let them know that a military dictatorship in Iran would be looked upon favorably as a short-term alternative to the mullahcracy.

There is no unified command, and even the Cardboard mullah is communicating through text. There are probably 5 splinters of the IRCG sitting on weapons, and there is probably two governing splinters and then the regular army. And the street. I have long suspected that the leadership, both civilian and military, have been seriously fragmented across the country. Attacks in the Straights are probably ordered by a local commander who may or may not be under orders from Tehran, and who may be acting on his own.

The one lesson that can be derived from that dogs breakfast of a situation is that there’s no point at all in even attempting to “negotiate” a cease fire. No one in the country has the authority or control required to enforce one.

Rant time: The town's annual festival has run into a problem in the last several years. Specifically, the local health inspector has banned homemade food. Instead of homemade pies and soups and other traditional foods from the culture the festival is celebrating, everything must be made in a "commercial kitchen." Which means customers are complaining because the food isn't as good as they remember, and therefore spend less money. The food trucks that show up, of course, are the preferred alternative of the inspector, even though the tents run by the local churches and schools have *never* had any health issues.

The kicker? A different town festival four hours away IN THE SAME STATE that celebrates THE SAME CULTURE and is held at almost THE SAME TIME... can have homemade foods.

"U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) completed a third round of strikes this week against Iran, July 11, holding Iranian forces accountable for attacking another commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

U.S. forces hit approximately 140 Iranian military targets with precision munitions launched by land- and sea-based fighter aircraft, drones, and naval vessels. Targets included Iranian missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, ammunition storage facilities, communication networks, and coastal surveillance locations ...etc.

Can't they back-track these missiles to their launch point? Just hit every launch point with a tactical nuke, as soon as they launch. Even if they are doing shoot and scoot, doubt they can scoot fast enough to evade the fireball.
