Mornin'
Speaking of which, Henrico County in Virginia is asking schools to open the blinds and turn off the lights to save electricity. (404 Media) (archive site) Henrico County has 37 datacenters and is constructing 17 more right now. It's ok. CIA Barbie and her merry band of Marxists/Islamists will take care of it!! Yea, we're screwed. I'm going for a walk. BBL Posted by: Puddleglum, cheer up for the worst is yet to come at July 01, 2026 04:36 AM (sAmhv) 6

Benjamin Ryan V @benryanwriter Replying to @JLimHospMD This is misinformation about #monkeypox. The outbreak is occurring almost entirely among men who have sex with me. And I had such a nice experience at the senior car center yesterday I had a Bible study on Ephesians ( which I enjoyed ) and then the Activities Director had invited me and several volunteers who do all kinds of programs there to a late luncheon, I finished up about half an hour
Too early so I walked around the building which is nicely landscaped As I turned a corner in the back I saw two spotted fawns eating grass. When the saw me they took off running in various directions. They are so funny -The way they dash off and jump. And it was very kind of the Activities Director to give us a luncheon and little gift bags as well Posted by: FenelonSpoke at July 01, 2026 05:05 AM (Yl2Ob) 15

Plenty of Morons saw this coming:
Open Source Intel @Osint613 Saudi Arabia first blocked U.S. use of its bases and airspace for Project Freedom, Trump's operation to keep the waterway open, halting the mission. The White House threatened to withhold missile-defense interceptors until Riyadh reversed course. It did. The rift has strained ties, with Washington now weighing a reduced military footprint in the kingdom in favor of Israel and Jordan. Saudi’s have the Yemen backed Houthi on one coast and the Chinese backed Iran on the other. Oman is hooked up with Iran, too. SA will make a deal with them.

I really do like NPP. My favorite part is that it cashes whatever I have in unsaved tabs so I can just close it and open it right back with stuff still there. Great for scratch notes.

The Saudis live there. They have to consider what happens if Trump declares "victory" and withdraws or if Democrats win big in the mid-terms and force withdraw, or the GOPe align with Democrats and force withdraw, or the Israelis get tired of being Trump's yo-yo and the coalition falls apart... Evening and morning, late toilers and early risers! It's Woden's Day, the start of a new month, and the midpoint of the year, all in one swell foop!
Rain chances are higher today, and I need to go shopping for new khakis. The pair I've been wearing at home for some years, and patched during the Sniffle Scare, have finally reached the end of their useful life. Banana Republic and the Gap each have factory stores in the same shopping center with a J. Crew and an Old Navy. Convenient, if annoying that they're not closer to me. With any luck I'll find what I need in the first store. ("Old Navy"? Hmph. Just try buying an vintage bridge coat or pea jacket there.) UK Prime Minister details (BBC):
A contest for a new leader of the Labour party is expected to begin next month. [July] The winner will then become the next prime minister because the Labour Party is the biggest political party in parliament. Mr Starmer said he will ask the Labour Party's National Executive Committee that nominations for the party's new leader open on 9 July. He said this will be completed before the summer break, which is a week later, on 16 July. In the case of a leadership contest, this will mean that a new leader would be in place by the time parliament returns from its summer break on 1 September.
