MSNOW Cancels Weekend Live Programming; Will Run Cheap Leftwing Podcasts From Earlier In the Week Instead

Canceling 2/7ths of the weekly original programming is always a sign of strength and profitability.

MS NOW is canceling the evening news program The Weekend: Primetime, as it focuses on re-airing its video podcasts as well as its Crooked on MS NOW offerings.

Beginning Sunday, June 28, at 6 p.m. ET, MS NOW's weekend-night offerings will be a taped affair as it will air episodes from Crooked Media's video podcasts, including Pod Save America, Pod Save the World, Strict Scrutiny, Lovett or Leave It, Runaway Country with Alex Wagner, Hysteria, Assembly Required with Stacey Abrams, Offline with Jon Favreau, and What A Day.

It will also air episodes from its own video podcasting unit, including The Best People with Nicolle Wallace and Why Is This Happening with Chris Hayes.

In a memo to employees obtained by TVNewser, MS NOW president Rebecca Kutler said the network's Crooked on MS NOW block has brought new viewers. Kutler added that there will be jobs impacted by this transition, but the network will continue to be staffed during those hours and overnight in the event of breaking news, and has nearly 40 open roles across the network.

...

Meanwhile, the network announced that Alex Witt will be departing sometime in the summer. Witt has been with MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) since 1999 and has anchored more hours than any other anchor at the network.

Firing the network's longest-serving anchor is likewise a show of corporate strength.

MS NOW is overhauling its weekend lineup by leaning harder into podcasts, taped programming and outside partnerships -- a shakeup that will also mark the end of longtime anchor Alex Witt's nearly three-decade run at the network.

..

Among the biggest moves is the departure of Witt, one of the network's longest-serving anchors, who plans to leave later this year after nearly three decades with the company. News of Witt's departure was reported by Variety.

...

"After nearly three decades, Alex Witt has shared with us her plans to conclude her tenure with the company later this year, following an extraordinary career," Kutler wrote in a memo to staff.

Kutler praised Witt as "a beloved longtime member of our MS NOW family" who "anchored more hours on MS NOW than any other anchor in our network's history."

...

Kutler also said the network plans to announce additional outside content partnerships in the coming weeks and months, building on its existing relationship with Crooked Media.

The move to just airing old podcasts also shows that people, including retards on the far left, just don't care for the overproduced, underconsidered Corporate Fake News Product any longer.

Via WDW_Pro.

Bonus: Yesterday I linked a NY Post story about Jill Biden's books being bought up by Biden-affiliated PACs to contrive a spot on the NYT bestseller list (which is hardly necessary, as they just make up whatever results they like).

I missed this: Gavin Newsom used his PAC's money to buy up $1.5 million of copies of "his" "book," which he gave to donors as a thank you. (Gee whiz Gavin, this will take a place of honor in my garbage can.)

That $1.5 million in copies, bought by Newsom himself, made up 2/3rds of all "sales" of "his" "book."

Trump should be impeached because the heat is driving the Euro's crazy and turning on each other as this example in France.

Owl Gore was correct and that Global Warming is real and now Europe is paying the price because Trump did not listen to Owl Gore !!!!!!!!!

18 Gavin Newsome also just told the largest lie of his political career (I know, but go with it).

He stated that California's economy has grown at 40%, blowing by every other state. "We have no peers," he said.

The problem, though, is that statement is only true under one very twisted condition:

Score California's economy on Nominal Dollars.
Score literally everyone else's on Real Dollars.

Using Real Dollars for California's economy gives them 17% growth.

When you use the Nominal Dollars to measure Texas, they come in at 52% growth. Florida comes in at 66%.

20 There is a surplus of leftwing media organs so until the government is paying for them there will be significant consolidation and layoffs in the market.

Now if they hired some rightwing voices and instead went for balance they'd open up a whole new slate of potential consumers in a market not so saturated...

32 the corporate media pays Democrat politicians a big advance based on sales that won't ever actually happen OR will happen but only because the politician uses donor-funds to buy the book up -- thus effectively laundering donor money, which is reserved for campaign expenses, into the Democrat's personal bank account, using the corporate media company as a front company.

We get an hour a day locally here of conservative talk radio host Greg Kelly out of NYC. He has read Newscum's book, and I believe is writing a book (or perhaps long essay) critiquing it -- in which Neewscum states that he was obsessed with the suave, slick detective character played by Pierce Brosnan in Remington Steele, and "modeled" himself after that.

I love it. Every time they float some shitball nonentity to be their new standard bearer, they get ratioed into oblivion. No one likes what they're selling. Not even their own people. And likeability aside, they always wind up being perverts anyway, or Actual Nazis, or just strident Bolsheviks who would burn the entire DNC to the ground the first chance they get.

Their bullpen is empty. They got nothing. The DSA are just walking in and eating their lunch. It's glorious.

The borough of the town has flags up on every light pole...local high school and organizations are having a parade which ends at the local park (which will have music, stands, roving performers et al.). Then, fireworks in the evening on the 4th (which they never do, because the founding day for the town takes place in August, and they have fireworks then).

159 Thank goodness for this new CA law! Take that, Trump!
------------------------
Assembly Bill 1084 now makes it easier for Californians who are nonbinary or transgender to legally change their name and gender. Doing so enables these residents to get new identification documents faster than before at a time when the Trump administration is trying to block trans people from getting passports that match their gender identity. Starting July 1, third parties can no longer file objections to adults’ petitions to change their names due to gender identity. In addition, adults, as well as minors whose parents have signed on, must have their name-change petition order issued within six weeks.

169 I really like the story of how CA is going to have high-speed busses now.

It only requires:
1) an internal combustion engine more efficient and powerful than anything anyone has now
2) tires that are longer-lasting and superior to anything F1 or NASCAR has
3) dedicated highway lanes the entire route.
4) fare payers that will ride these busses

Other than that, this concept is just a few hundred billion away from reality.

BTW, did you know there is a physical speed limit for large ships?
At about 50 mph, the speed causes the prop to create cavitation and can't generate any further thrust.

172 "I am truly perplexed that so many of my friends are against another mosque being built. I think it should be the goal of everyone living in a town to be tolerant regardless of their religious beliefs. Thus the mosque should be allowed, in an effort to promote tolerance."

"That is why I also propose that two nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque, thereby promoting tolerance from within the mosque. We could call one of the clubs, which would be gay, "The Turban Cowboy," and the other, a topless bar, would be called "You Mecca Me Hot."

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork, and adjacent to that an open-pit barbecue pork restaurant, called "Iraq of Ribs." Across the street there could be a lingerie store called "Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret" with sexy mannequins in the window modeling the goods, and on the other side a liquor store called "Morehammered."

"All of this would encourage Muslims to demonstrate the tolerance they demand of us."

Back to the topic tho, this seems extra funny because right now some of those podcasts (Pod Save America, Strict Scrutiny) are NOT on t.v. at all. It looks like they're being dredged from the internet as one of the few properties MSNOW can possibly stick in a time slot.

More fun, some of those podcasts (the Pod Save ones for sure) restrict premium content -- aka cheap talk that you would expect from any podcaster -- to "Members Only." You can't view unless you pay to subscribe. I think it eventually becomes available to all, but I wonder what the contracts will do to Members Only and the money it brings those clowns.

Democrats are doing all they can to tamp down the Spirit of 76.

My city has decided to do the Independence Day fireworks show on Friday so that city employees can have the day off on Saturday. Last year, they did the fireworks on the 5th, a Saturday, instead of the 4th so that city employees could have the day off. It makes absolute no sense except that it shows that the government is "of the government employees, for the government employees", we are just their serfs.

Jordan wore #9 during his gold medal runs at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1992 Barcelona Olympics (the "Dream Team").

His older brother, Larry, wore #45 in high school. Michael originally chose #23 because it is approximately half of 45. When playing for Team USA, he could not wear #23 or #45 due to international rules limiting numbers to 4–15. He derived #9 by adding the digits of his brother's number: 4 + 5 = 9.

313 I can't imagine why the media wouldn't making a big hullabaloo over the 250th. Can you fathom what Kamala's would look like?

315 People seem to be into the 250th around here. A lot of flags on house, trucks, cars, even harleys. The dude down the street had a huge American flag painted on the side of his pole barn. Another house is flying a fuck joe biden banner on his fence. People have been trying out fireworks, and its some really loud shit. I think it will be nuts around here on the 4th.

318 There is a word out that Nina Totenberg formerly of NPR has died. Not fact checking it of course because that is the NPR standard of journalism.

Send a card.

I’ve read a few bios of TR. Very interesting guy but I’m not so sure he was good for the country in the long run… one of the original “progressives” (different meaning then but nevertheless not on the right track)… on top of which the name Roosevelt associated with TR helped FDR’s young political career immeasurably. Doubt he woulda been president if TR never existed. And FDR legacy mostly negative IMHO. TR legacy a mixed bag

Formal observation of Canada Day is done by considering the burden your continued existence might be on the people nearest you and the country in general.
