I am waiting to see what happens with Brazil, and Venezuela has enough pissed off earthquake victims to create a nationwide revolt because of the failures the "Bolivarian" state has in doing anything but stealing, so that needs watching too.
Mexico just had it's debt rating bottomed out and the Mexican central bank is looking to backstop their version of Treasury bonds by buying them off the secondary market if the rates take a dump, so that looks inflationary, and that is dicey in Mexican history too.
I am feeling pretty chuffed about De La Espriella winning in Colombia. It is a matter of if he has enough juice to squash the cartels.

Espriella has a difficult parliament and, I assume, judiciary. He does have a base but it is regional.

There's something I want to say about you and your sister in those last precious weeks and I haven't managed it and maybe I won't this time either, but it might help.

A couple of weeks before my twin brother died, before he went to the hospital for what would be the last time, he asked me to find a best friend from our childhood. Why me instead of his wife? Don't know, don't care.

I was able to.

They were both heroes. Dave was in fact, the guy who was sent to Somalia after Black Hawk Down to find out what had gone down.

So for two weeks Dave sent my twin brother funny videos and emails and songs--I know, because he copied them to me. And Wendell (my twin) had that gift for the last two weeks of his life.

Well, you were that gift to your sister. Because of you, she could have a peace and a sense of completion no one else could give her.

You did a wonderful thing.
