Like he just did. Former President Barack Obama took aim at the Founding Fathers ahead of America's 250th anniversary, saying they held a "deep flaw" for their ties to slavery despite being "geniuses." "I think sometimes we get confused in thinking that these two stories are separate. They're intertwined, right? Which is why it's possible for me to be a great admirer of George Washington, and also acknowledge he was a slaveholder," said Obama in an interview Sunday with MSNOW. The 44th president's appearance comes as most Americans prepare to celebrate the nation's 250th birthday on Saturday with patriotic events across the country, while Obama is using the milestone to deliver a more cautionary message about the state of American democracy.Bonus: I mentioned Jill Biden's very suspicious book sales yesterday. Now the NY Post writes it up. Except that Lauren Cobello specializes in bulk purchases of books to artificially boost their initial sales to get them on the best seller list. This is not an objective expert the media is contacting, but an invested, partisan champion of the system itself. As usual. This bitch is just spamming out pro-Jill-Biden spin: Why even contact such a clear partisan as you supposed "outside expert witness"?

Former President Barack Obama took aim at the Founding Fathers ahead of America's 250th anniversary, saying they held a "deep flaw" for their ties to slavery despite being "geniuses."
"I think sometimes we get confused in thinking that these two stories are separate. They're intertwined, right? Which is why it's possible for me to be a great admirer of George Washington, and also acknowledge he was a slaveholder," said Obama in an interview Sunday with MSNOW... "That does not negate [Washington's] greatness, it simply acknowledges that there's a profound deep flaw in these Founding Fathers who were also geniuses and gave us these tools," Obama said. Well, how fortunate for you Barack, in that you don't have a deep flaw in an otherwise sterling character. You're all flaw, you bitchy little pissant. Kudos for consistency. Speaking of spite,...
So some interesting history posted at end of Insty ONT this morning. It seems that many of the small towns in Wyoming (and I guess elsewhere) were just post offices for the temporary camps set up for the rail road workers (often "hackers" who cut trees to make ties, so not just on the main line.) As well as other post offices set up without anyone thinking that the name would become permanent for a town or city. That is why they often have silly names. One example was DuBois, legend has it., pronounced doo-boys because it pissed off the politician who named it after himself and would get annoyed when people pronounced his name that way. --- Let’s understand how the courts work. They don’t like changing things. So, we're back to fuck judges--they have disgraced themselves. Because precedent keeps decisions out of the power of the filthy unwashed. This is elitism. It wouldn't be so bad, if judges weren't trying to make more and more legal precedent so they get this universal review of government behavior. But, fuck judges. Nothing will happen this congress, not with Mitch, Tillis, Cassidy, and Cornyn still around. But if things go well in November, the next Congress could be much more amenable to trying something. I have this running theory that there are five senators taking all the flack for 10-20 others in not getting things done. All five are out (except Murkowski) at the end of this Congress. Suddenly, next congress, that cover is gone. More will have to volunteer to be scapegoats (possible) while the rest of the GOP Senate will be less amenable to not getting things done. The other 10-20 are cowards, hence the cover. And there are those in that 10-20 (like Ernst) who are going, too. = She was a shit head even then. Her boss Zeifman was quoted saying about her: “She was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”… “If I had the power to fire her, I would have fired her.” He didn't fire her, but told her when her time was up she wasn't getting a recommendation. It's bullshit. Alito and Thomas clearly illustrate how there is more immediate context decades within the ratification of the 14th amendment. Posted by: Axeman at June 30, 2026 04:52 PM (Fi81e) Note, in English Feudal society, a Peasant owed 1 day a week worth of labor, to his Lord... as 1 day was God's, that meant 1/6 of his labor either in work, or Money. So, 16.66%. Let's see... 12.4% Social Security... close. 25%- 30% combined state, local, Fed, income tax. Property tax? ie paying the lord to live on hour land... another 1% or so Sales Tax? oh... 9% here. then of course Gas Tax. Sounds like we are a hell of a lot WORSE off then Peasants were. Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Barrett do vote on principle; their vote was entirely predictable to anyone familiar with how the courts work. It’s just that their principle is wrong, reflecting the old and established view of the 14th Amendment that we are currently challenging with new scholarship.
--- So why did they have to make up the story about British feudal claims being our citizenship tradition. Posted by: Axeman at June 30, 2026 04:52 PM (Fi81e) Because birthright citizenship was taken as a given until recently. I don't think it was discussed in any textbook other than as being axiomatic. It's one of those things like "The New Deal ended the Great Depression" that you were just told is true. Roberts (and Barrett) seem to think that they need to preserve institutional credibility, as if they can control anything so nebulous. And doubtless Roberts knew that Thomas would wheel out one of his history lesson specials in a dissent. So he went looking for support for what he "knew" was already there. That he had to fall back on feudalism is actually kind of funny. Apparently nothing else less on-the-nose on our 250th birthday would work at all. Schlichter in summary:
--- So what if the court is acting like the superlegislature the Federalist Papers said would invalidate their reason for being--we're one seat away from reversing all this.... it the Democrats don't win, stack the courts, doing laps with this verdict. I sorta get where he's coming from. The battle is not completely lost. I just can't agree that the SCOTUS having "seats" and "votes" and invalidating themselves--by the admission in this very opinion piece--it's a recoverable situation. Because you've accepted the rogue behavior of a branch that continually expands its area of review. And seems in no hurry to reign the overreach of their profession in, just "Hey, guys, knock off the restraining order from one regional judge stuff!" I never was thinking this is the end. It's a part--perhaps a shadow of the end--but he's trying to talk me out of a funk that I'm not in, and normalizing court expansion (which is happening anyway). Net out-migration for the first time in decades last year. The SCOTUS case was a loss, there are ways around it, there's more political will now than before to deal with it, but the overall effort now is towards remigration. At least 2.5 more years of this, and if the cleanup in elections and immigration is as significant as possible, the win from 2024 can look like small beans by 2028. What a maroon.
Just as one could unfortunately be born into slavery. It also follows, one could be born into a slaveholding family. With me so far? Now what? You modern sophisticated people say “I would have freed my slaves” Maybe. Highly doubtful. The first problem, there wasn’t anyplace for them to go. Let’s say you owned 75 slaves on your plantation. They cost the equivalent of about $50,000 or more per. Democrats would be the last on the planet to do something like that. Plus, inheritance and bankruptcy law was quite different back then. As the heir to an Estate, you were on the hook for debts. That is not the case today. They had Debtor’s Prisons. Totally awful. If you think modern or historical Democrats would go to prison and forfeit hundreds of thousands of dollars in “assets” you’re smoking your socks. Posted by: Skip Clarified the issue and made it a litmus test for new Scotus appointees from the GOP. Case was really a 5-4 decision as Kavanaugh's concurrence for the sixth vote was that Trump did not have that power but Congress could. Most of the bloviating that the court majority did was in fact obiter dicta not necessary to judge whether Trump had the constitutional power. And that is where Roberts and ACB being preening social virtue signalling twats went too far. Like Justice Taney trying to resolve a question forever, Roberts and co joined with the deraged leftist witch coven on the court to misread constitutional history and even British law.
