61 Busy afternoon/evening cooking! Bachelor efficiency means that I sauteed an onion (cast iron pan/EVOO), then fried up a pound of hamburger patties, then fried 2/3 lb. more scattered ground beef for spaghetti. Poured the last portion of beef with any remaining oil into the dish with the jar of spaghetti sauce and some of the sauteed onion. Boiled the noodles, now using the same pot and strainer for mac and cheese for my mom.

Minimizing cleanup per dish by making multiple consecutively in the same one is key! But then I'll be making a bean & bacon casserole for accompanying my parents to a nearby family reunion (mom's side), to go with the announced pulled pork station. Basically making it for her credit. Not what I had planned for the evening, but I don't mind.

In a proposal obtained by Breaker Media, Owens describes Paramount’s decision to settle President Trump’s lawsuit over the editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris as “perhaps the worst legal strategy ever employed by the worst-run media company in the history of America.”

157 I'm loving the World Cup visitor reaction videos that I've seen so far, I'm not even looking for them, but (for example) Bridget Phetasy has been putting montages in her regular Dumpster Fires. And I read that not only did we have enough stadiums lying around that all we had to do was change up some playing surfaces, we could actually do it again without using any of the same stadiums.

Let that sink in. Wouldn't that be awesome? I am all in favor of the idea of bidding for the next available host country slot, however it works, on a platform of America's World Cup II: All Different From Last Time.

Probably lots of countries want the gig, but we can say hey, we're not even going to have any repeats. Entirely different set of stadiums that the 2026 visitors did not see, they're just sitting there waiting to be used for this, and can you say that? NO, NO YOU CANNOT.

196 F117 Stealth bombers used to (still do?) fly out of Holloman AFB, outside Alamogordo, NM. Guessing that top shot is from then and there.

I am easily confused!

And tomorrow, I have to navigate Dallas and Ft.Worth.

Oh, that's going to be fun. I lived out there for over 24 years. I know what it's like. Good luck.

I recall driving through Austin, and thinking, WTF is going on, but then, all is well. And I have no clue how I managed to navigate that stupid city.

===============

I hated getting around Austin for that reason. Someone explained it to me, "You have to get off these freeways at the right point, and then it's all parking lots. You drive through the parking lots."

Is that just Austin keeping it weird?

Before the virus lockdown they had an airshow out of Quonset. We go float around and watch all sorts go screaming up and down the bay.

When the Stealth flew over it was different. That thing is intimidating.

203 When I learned that Rush was touring again, I initially thought, here we go, just two tired old guys riding it out. but I've seen vidyas of them with Anika on drums. Holy, crap, they are having a blast! Anyone able to see them live needs to do so.

It would be SO lovely to see you if we can work it out. Let me see what all he has in mind. He's the trip planner especially when we're in TX!

208 My friend was the best man for his brother's wedding in Paris. At the reception, he raised his champagne glass and said "Eggs, cinnamon, bread, and maple syrup."

It was a French toast.

(This was only a test. If it was real, this post would be deleted.)

In Dallas and Ft Worth, I'd say doing about 25 mph.

Do so. I had a chance to see them in Billings way back in 1982, during their Signals tour, but my Dad had a weird blind spot regarding rock music shows. He was convinced I would take the brown acid or something. Same with Kansas, which was ostensibly a Christian rock band. I had given up when Black Sabbath and Judas Priest rolled around.

217 Glad that people are enjoying going to Rush nowadays. Pretty sad though that the number of new rock bands is pretty small nowadays. Digitizing all my music on CDs and LPs has reminded me of the heyday of rock (and other music) of days gone by.

221 lin-duh, yep, Rush on Sunday night and probably some hiking. We bought the tickets long ago but the rest of this trip has been hastily planned as neither of us were sure how much time off we could take!
