Have you still your headquarters in Stralow? At this time of year and in the land where no lemon trees are in bloom, can this be thinkable? But where are you then? That is the question, and for a practical man the first requirement for correspondence is to know an address. Therefore, I have to take advantage of the kindness of others. In other words, Karl Marx is a transient with no fixed abode and does not update his father on his current whereabouts. But he "takes advantage of the kindness of others," which I assume means he gave this letter to a mutual friend to deliver to the itinerant communist dipshit. His father's kind of witty. He's mocking the idea that Marx has no "material" to write to him about. At least, one should suppose so, if one bears in mind: 1) that you have no lack of subject-matter, 2) that your situation is serious enough to arouse great interest, 3) that your father is perhaps somewhat partial in his attachment to you, etc., etc., etc., and yet after an interval of two months, the second of which caused me some unpleasant hours full of anxiety, I received a letter without form or content, a torn fragment saying nothing, which stood in no relation to what went before it and had no connection with the future! If a correspondence is to be of interest and value, it must have consistency, and the writer must necessarily have his last letter before his eyes, as also the last reply. Your last letter but one contained much that excited my expectation. I had written a number of letters which asked for information on my points. And instead of all that, I received a letter of bits and fragments, and, what is much worse, an embittered letter.Marx was a manic-depressive lunatic, as one could gather from his Exclamation-Point-Riddled-Rants!!!, and I imagine the last fragmentary letter to his father was written in his style of deranged excitement and denunciation, which caused the poor dad to worry. Frankly speaking, my dear Karl, I do not like this modern word ["embittered"], which all weaklings use to cloak their feelings when they quarrel with the world because they do not possess, without labour or trouble, well-furnished palaces with vast sums of money and elegant carriages. This embitterment disgusts me and you are the last person from whom I would expect it. What grounds can you have for it? Has not everything smiled on you ever since your cradle? Has not nature endowed you with magnificent talents? Have not your parents lavished affection on you? Have you ever up to now been unable to satisfy your reasonable wishes? And have you not carried away in the most incomprehensible fashion the heart of a girl whom thousands envy you? Yet the first untoward event, the first disappointed wish, evokes embitterment! Is that strength? Is that a manly character?FUCKING GO OFF KING! You yourself had declared, in dry words, that you would be satisfied with assurances for the future, and because of them renounce all outward signs for the present. Did you not make that renunciation word for word in writing? And only children complain about the word they have given when they begin to feel pressure.I don't know what this means but the sense I get is that Marx has pestered his father relentlessly for money, writing only when he needed some, and at some point angrily declared he would trouble him no further for it, and now the father is asking: Did you not tell me directly that you would no longer make demands on my wallet? Are you a "child" who now regrets that declaration and seeks to undo it? Yet here too your luck holds. Your good mother, who has a softer heart than I have and to whom it still very often occurs that we too were once the plaything of the little blind rogue, sounded the alarm, and the all too good parents of your Jenny could hardly wait for the moment when the poor, wounded heart would be consoled, and the recipe is undoubtedly already in your hands, if a defective address has not caused the epistle to go astray. Time is limited, for Sophie is to take the letter before the post to the von Westphalens, who now live far away, and this good opportunity also was announced to me only today, so that I must conclude. As a matter of fact, at present I would not know what to say, at most I could only put questions to you, and I do not like to be importunate. Only one thing more my Herr Son will still allow me, namely, to express my surprise that I have still not received any request for money! Or do you perhaps want already now to make up for it from the too great amount taken? It's a little too early for that.I think the means "I am surprised I have not received a demand for money since your last one," as he goes on to mention "too great amount [of money already] taken." What a shock, a spoiled communist, refusing to pay his parents any kindness, only writing when he needs more money to continue loafing around without contributing anything to society (and indeed, as the fullness of time will reveal, doing a great deal to destroy it.) But they have public transport and single payer healthcare queues to make them feel better when they get home. The left, on the other hand, doesn't think it's a nice story at all. They hate America for its riches and simultaneously curse it for having so much poverty. Choose a lane, guys.

Videos of Brits discovering Buc-ee's and Texas BBQ are outright delightful. Breaks their minds in the absolute best possible ways. Whats also interesting is how ignorant and propagandized they are about America once they first arrive. Some man on the street interviews of various furriners of what they think America is like or American food is like (before they've yet experienced it) are astonishing. It's like they've been getting their knowledge about it America third-hand from North Korean government or something.

Many have been noting that the propaganda arm of the world and American media — Americans are terrible and their country is dangerous and trash and you should avoid them — is crumbling. Too many people came here and saw it with their own eyes. What has seen, in person and then on X/TikTok, cannot be unseen. Can't stop the signal. It also shows us the freedoms and abundance we need to preserve and defend at all costs! As a plus, the Canadians have been acting the way Europeans THOUGHT we would behave — surly, unfriendly, stingy. (Sorry Canadian Morons! But I'm getting schadenfreude from it.) Liberals are miserable because their entire worldview is fake and demonstrably untruthful. It’s why they want to control every ounce of information you digest, every liberty you can experience and the government, so they can coerce and force you to live their lives.
The truth is always peeking around the corner. They can’t hide from it and every time it rears its head it’s a reminder of their lies, failures l, vulnerability and mendacity. It’s the thing under the bed, and their worst dreams all rolled into one big pile of the truth coming straight at them. Guys, I have to share how much I'm enjoying the way that WordWeb added a little discreet (and discrete) AI.
"AI suggestions: This is a slang term, likely a misspelling of *fugazi*, which means something fake, counterfeit, or phony." If you're not familiar, WordWeb is a handy lightweight dictionary/thesaurus app where you don't have open a browser (or switch tabs if you're in one), just highlight a word and ctrl-alt-w (or ctrl-right-click) and up it pops. They had already added a Wiktionary tab, which I use all the time, for richer details than the built-in database can provide. But now it can handle foreign words and slang at the first glance! https://wordweb.info/free/ Posted by: SciVo at June 22, 2026 04:29 PM (Sy6m/) 274

When I saw the guy picked up the crappy muffins… if he was actually excited, he won’t be as soon as it gets in his mouth. Americans gobbling up this "never seen a supermarket" grift. American culture shock is apparently just unbridled consumerism and Walmart... You know most are fake or parody right? But the free water is needed in Europe. Greedy ass continent charging 4 euros for a bottle of water every time you go out. I like america. Wish it would embrace free healthcare, increase the minimum wage, get money out of politics and stop electing anyone who says the word "jesus" in a semi coherent sentence. The one couple I've seen, James and Siana (he's the bearded guy with muscles and she's the gorgeous blonde from London) started this love of the USA in the past year on their youtube. Have visited over 20 states. Invited by a Southern family for Thanksgiving, which blew their minds and included hunting. They are trying to come to America to live.
I saw one of their videos, and they were begging for money to come over here. Some of these folks are just frauds, taking advantage of some American's desire to be liked by Europeans. Sorry, I'm feeling cynical today. Posted by: Archimedes at June 22, 2026 04:35 PM (Riz8t) 312

A letter I got from them, today, was dated June 3. It took 19 frickin' days to get here from New Mexico. Not south Africa, but from Albuquerque. I honestly can't decide which I've loved more. Seeing the genuine expressions of joy from our European cousins (and visitors from around the world) marveling at our food, our vehicles, our stores, our customs and our kindness....
...or seeing the panic-riddled, angry, angst-ridden responses from the American Left, predictably shrieking, "Propaganda! Right-wing psy-op! These people are NOT really enjoying themselves!".... ...quickly followed by their six-paragraph denunciations of America, Donald Trump, capitalism, white people, etc., etc., etc. When you meet us in person, in our lands, and you come to see firsthand our ways, we're actually pretty damned likeable. But the part they miss is what “free” gets you. Like everything govt gives away for “free” it’s rationed and shitty. It’s hard to get into college in Europe. And there’s no $30M library or gym on campus. Everything is old and run down. There are the exceptions like Oxford but that is NOT free, even for UK students.
It takes a special kind of cluelessness to call it "free". Who do you think pays for it, you twits? Do you think it just falls unbidden from the sky? Posted by: Archimedes at June 22, 2026 04:45 PM (Riz8t) 381

I saw that Canada chased out some US Hockey players, because of their visit to the White House and meeting Trump, He requested a trade from Ottawa because they wouldn't let it drop and kept going after him, the GM said the Press and the Fans were a factor in asking for the trade. I went to school at an army base in Germany. We lived out in the countryside, so the army chartered tour buses as our school buses.
were i was in italy, the army had regular bus service going to and from base. green busses, naturally. the school busses were just more of the green busses. had an italian bus driver take a corner on two wheels once. never saw him again. I can't speak for the rest of the areas but I can guarantee you the Scotts were not hanging out with the far left in Boston. They were drinking pubs and bars with largely white, working class clientele that are not part of the 2 Spirt LGBTQ+ circuit.

Every other host country has to spend billions on building stadiums, improving roads and airports, building hotels, all sorts of shit.
All we did was spend a couple of bucks putting in real grass in said stadiums that had artificial turf. Everything else is just there already. We have 80k stadiums and major airports in every city and more hotel rooms that can ever be filled. They prep for a once in a.m Lifetime situation that is an average Tuesday for us. I wish a university would offer a course on Marx and instead of his useless, importunate, political bleating and economic theory of streamlining begging by upgrading it to robbery, it would consist of studying the letters he wrote asking for money and the replies he received.
You could even appeal to feminists by showing how his wife had to work difficult and menial jobs because he was too busy sitting around a library regaling people with his idea of how to rearrange society to his own best satisfaction to get a job of his own. There is your patriarchy. Posted by: Thatch at June 22, 2026 05:14 PM (i0077) 488

curse it for having so much poverty
But we really don't. We've 1) defined poverty upward because we're so wealthy, and 2) our numbers are inflated by drug addicts and such, who really should be institutionalized. (Also, there's some amount of inflating the numbers just so you can get more money for your "programs.") Posted by: GWB at June 22, 2026 05:16 PM (kU0PQ) 490

Seems if it were, we could find non-elitist Euros complaining about how awful things are here. But they're hard to find, honestly. Posted by: GWB at June 22, 2026 05:18 PM (kU0PQ) 491
There are two parts to the story on the left. At the top you have the people running the party, they fully recognize that you need poverty to build resentment. Thus it is poverty by design. Middle class get's more independent? Soln: import a whole new set of people that will be dependent on govt. welfare. Better yet, if they can do it in a way that includes a pre-determined mindset based on socialism.
Then you have the useful idiots that have been indoctrinated or are so low IQ that they support the machine without any resistance. This is why the left needs the media to push this propaganda; and why they need a boogeyman. Posted by: Trip at June 22, 2026 05:26 PM (ADSqk) 492
