Short and simple ONT this evening. No whining or excuses as we routinely receive on Friday evenings. It's summer and there are fish to catch. Not ONTs to write.

Could smoking weed protect your aging brain? A study recently highlighted by The Washington Post suggests it might.
Led by the Salk Institute, the work focused on a cannabinoid called cannabinol, which is a byproduct of THC, the active ingredient in pot responsible for its psychoactive effects.
In experiments using human brain cell cultures and animal cells, the researchers found that cannabinol appeared to protect neurons against oxidative stress, a pernicious form of biological wear and tear that leads to cell death. Oxidative stress is considered a critical factor in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Gov. Kathy Hochul has quietly extended a pilot program providing free healthcare to sex workers – with taxpayers footing the nearly $2.5 million bill.
The state Health Department in 2023 awarded $1 million in public funds to two contractors as part of Hochul’s plan to help the “world’s oldest profession,” but new documents reviewed by The Post show the program extending through June 2028, with $1.5 million more in costs.
Under the initiative, sex workers in NYC and the Buffalo area will continue to receive primary, sexual, behavioral, and dental care.

On June 11, troopers stopped a driver clocked at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone in Flagstaff, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

91 The Mrs. presented me with a Fathers Day card this morning entitled, " To My Husband on Fathers Day".

It was beautifully written, in letter form, and unfolded into three short pages celebrating our bond.

I did notice some parts of the letter were highlighted in yellow and some were not. She informed me that the yellow portions applied and the blank portions not so much.

Thankfully there was more yellow than blank, barely.

I look up to the left and armed cops are looking at me through double doors. Hands on head, walk out. They search me. I think two killed, maybe a child.

I have 2 ccs, one is only useable at TSC, the other is my Amazon Chase card and I pay them both off every month, there is no 3.5k balance that needs paid off. Its making me paranoid getting these loan offer emails.

253 Yay! One of my snap traps caught a mouse. The now dead disease vector is in a bag, outside, because garbage pickup is Wed morning. I still think I have another mouse lurking about, but I have lots of traps laying around. I'll get it. Still wish I had a bobkittuh!! Apparently illegal to own privately. Stupid country.

255 Speaking of, there are apparently some dudes who enjoy urinary catheters.

I don't get it... when inserted carefully, they're uncomfortable, and when inserted less carefully, they're painful.

I ran across a medical forum where they were talking about some fruitloop who kept showing up at the ER claiming he couldn't pee and demanding a Foley.

His problem was magically cured when they started assigning male nurses to cath him.

Me, I just do my best to keep my mind off what's going on, even if the nurse is cute.
