Yep. It's often assumed that this comes from Judeo-Christian religion, but in fact monogamy-by-law with fixed rules of inheritance came from Roman jurisprudence. Jews (and hence, early Christians) at the time of Jesus were polygamous (not required, but allowed). Paul introduced the monogamy thing, I believe. He was Jewish, of course, but heavily Romanized.

The “empty seats” photos are either before the game started or right after the 2nd half started when people are still getting food or using the bathroom.
And most of the “empty seats” shown are the VIP seats where there’s a longer type thing available for seat holders, with catered food and shit. Hmm I wonder if those people will be out of their seats every now and then enjoying the amenities?
All you have to do is look at prices on StubHub or SeatGeek and you’ll quickly realize demand is through the roof for seats.

Here it’s an average Saturday or Sunday during football season for marquee games. There are a lot of people who can afford it. It took me several years of playing high school varsity soccer to develop the proper patriotic hatred of kickball. Especially watching our star Brazilian exchange student flop on the ground trying to draw yellow cards for the opposing team.
I much prefer watching hockey. Virtually the same rules, except for adding in the requirement that the game must include fisticuffs for at least 30% of the playing time. And any player found to have all of his teeth is immediately DQ'd and the team sanctioned.

Honestly, I hate football almost as much as I hate Eurofag kickball. Because of what I find to be the really offensive use of warrior imagery in football. It's not the "field of battle", it's a fucking stadium. And they aren't "soldiers/warriors", they're big beefsteak millionaire athletes. Both are worthy of admiration on their own merits, but I hate it when the two are mixed together.
