Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Wednesday Night ONT - June 11, 2026 [TRex] Good evening Horde. The time has come for mid-week shenanigans. The bar is open and freshly re-stocked. Welcome to the Wednesday night ONT which means another edition of random overnight fun and games. Pull up a chair and join the fun. Good will offerings of amusing puns are encouraged. Pants are optional but why would you be wearing pants for the ONT? Be nice to your fellow commenters and AoS contributors. This is a Tucker, Candace, Megyn and Bill Kristol free zone. Please. Will reading the ONT content improve your odds of winning the Powerball lottery? Dunno but couldn't hurt to read the content and ensure you're right with the universe. [Top photo credit: AgnieszkaMonk]Antares today announced that its Mark-0 microreactor achieved initial criticality at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) under U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) authorization - making Antares the first private company to bring an advanced reactor to criticality under the DOE Reactor Pilot Program. The demonstration was conducted in partnership with DOE, INL, and BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT), with integration and observation support from the U.S. Army. This reactor validates key reactor physics parameters for Antares' reactors and contributes verification and validation data back to the Department of War's Project Pele. The Mark-0 was authorized by DOE under the Reactor Pilot Program, with the U.S. Army integrated throughout as a future end user. This model of interagency coordination directly supports the Army's microreactor deployment timeline. The demonstration and the licensing pathway it establishes represent a key step toward deploying electricity-producing microreactors for U.S. military installations by September 30, 2028. NASA plans to open up competition for control over the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), which has historically been operated by the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). This move is part of an even larger reorganization by the agency (though NASA asserts that this doesn't mean layoffs). "NASA announced today that they will compete the contract for operating JPL, with Caltech's current agreement ending on Sept. 30, 2028," reads a statement today (May 22) from JPL. Caltech has managed JPL since the lab's inception in the 1930s, and has done so for NASA since the agency was established in 1958. According to the JPL statement, Caltech has been preparing for this possible transition since last summer, so the news "comes as no surprise." But the potential change is part of a larger shakeup for the agency. Until now, JPL and Caltech have been heavily intertwined, with mission personnel, scientists, leadership, and others working closely "across the pond" between JPL and Caltech. JPL mission and program meetings often include Caltech employees and sometimes even take place on its Pasadena campus. Plot E of the Oise-Aisne American cemetery in northern France. Go ahead and look. You won't find it listed on the Veterans Administration website, nor any of the literature provided by the cemetery. Maps will show Plots A, B, C, and D only, those containing 6012 American dead from WWI. Google Earth will just show an expanse of green. It's like it doesn't exist, which is exactly what its creators intended. But it's very much there, and serves a necessary if somewhat unsavory purpose. Plot E is where American servicemen are buried who were executed - by firing squad or hanging - for capital crimes committed in the European theatre during or shortly after WWII. Some of the victims were children. Many were women. Most are forgotten by the modern age, though at least one - Sir Eric Teichman, killed on his ancestral estate confronting two U.S. soldiers poaching on the land - was a prominent member of society who still has his own Wikipedia page. ![]() Bidding paddles are sure to go flying in the air as auctioneer Alexandre Giquello of Hôtel Drouot in Paris, France, accepts offers on the first-ever handbag made with collagen from lab-grown Tyrannosaurus rex fossils, which were reportedly exhumed in the US... With an asking price ranging from €300,000 to 500,000 ($347,081 to $578,469), the ancient accessory is an expensive, albeit exclusive piece that will go to the highest bidder with the deepest pockets. Following an extensive process - including harvesting T. rex DNA, conducting phylogenetic analyses, inserting the materials into a specialized bio-leather cell line genome, transforming the cells into skin and sustainably tanning the skin to create the leather - the scientists have managed to make primeval magic.Should I be impressed with the scientific homage to prehistoric dino ancestors or horrified at the involuntary transformation of T. rex DNA into a purse? It surprises me every time I'm reminded of it, but Chrysler was big in rockets at one time. Redstone rocket was Chrysler.
And then the S-IB, the first stage of the Saturn IB rocket, the orbital only launch vehicle for the Apollo CSM, was Chrysler. _________________________________________ There is a perfectly logical explanation for this. The dude riding the motorbike just broke the monkey out of a make-shift cage. He had been forced to perform slave labor dancing for an Organ Grinder who was part of the City Restoration program at Bakery Square. The Grinder gave pursuit, but the monkey was near sighted, so the Motorbike dude took no chances and was macing everyone. Posted by: Orson at June 10, 2026 10:47 PM (dIske) 126

There is a theory that dinosaurs had feathers, and became birds. Don't know if it's true, but it does make me wonder what Tyrannosaurus Rex might have become. Perhaps ostriches, and they stick their heads in the ground because they're no longer the king.
Posted by: Hour of the Wolf at June 10, 2026 10:40 PM (qx7Zg) There’s a Chinese fossil bed that has produced some truly spectacular finds, incredible detail. Casts of skin with pinion holes and all kinds of stuff. Should add that the line thought to be related to birds is the Theropods, the Bird Hipped dinosaurs. Most of the predators and 2 legged ones. The Sauropods, the great big ones, still look like they completely died out, as did the marine creatures like the Mosasaur. Posted by: Tom Servo at June 10, 2026 11:02 PM (orF8y) 163

94 A division of General Tire (Aerojet-General) built both solid and liquid rocket motors and engines. I picked up an original copy of Ignition! back in the late 70's from one of the guys there. Alas, it was lost during one of my many moves.

The anti-Semitic dictator Erdogan, who commits genocide against the Kurds, supports the terrorist organization Hamas, oppresses his own people, and puts political opponents in prison, is the last one who can preach morality to the State of Israel. The State of Israel and the IDF, the most moral army in the world, will continue to act forcefully against Iran and its proxies that threaten the Middle East and the entire world. Yeah. Rush tickets are $250 per seat minimum. In a stadium. For 2/3 of a band that has not put out an album in over a decade. It's a no for me, dawg.
Posted by: bear with asymmetrical balls, drive-in mutant at June 10, 2026 10:56 PM (yjflf) A bit pricey. I would pay it just to see the new drummer. I watched both full shows so far. She's off the charts. She thunders. Geddy's voice on the other hand sounds like 2 cats fucking, and they seem to be rotating songs from night to night, so you don't know what you'll see. Not into chef's surprise. They played Anthem, closer to the heart, the FULL 2112 side A, and passage to bangkok during the second night show, but not during the first night. Shot a 96 today at a golf course I haven't been too in years. Well, shot a '96'. I had lots of help from St. Mulligan. Lots and lots of help. I did make out on golf balls though. Found lots of them. Went shootin' boom sticks with a friend of mine at a gun club that is behind the middle of no where. Great place. Plan to go back tomorrow and shoot some more. I head back to Babylon DC on Saturday. Meh.

When Florida changed their license plate format to 3 letters and three numbers back in the late '70's, it became common knowledge that plates starting with 'Z' were rental cars. I recall they had to change it after a few incidents of tourists being targeted because of the plate. I still have an old style Florida plate in the rear window of my truck. When phones were owned by The Phone Company, which was responsible for their repair and maintenance: Would withstand a nuclear blast. Could be used to bludgeon a person to death and it'd still be fine.
When buying and repairing the phone became the customer's responsibility: cardboard and tin foil that you were lucky if it lasted more than a year. Of course, hardly anyone now has land lines in the first place. Posted by: Rodrigo Borgia at June 10, 2026 11:09 PM (IG3/x) 183

I tried to lobby my wife to pay something like that to see BOC a while back during the holidays. But the venue was so intimate that attending that show would have made me and Buck Dharma common-law married under Texas law. (Still sad I didn't see that one.)
