17 "Intel says 'something has to give' with memory prices"

Something will give. It has to:
https://isaiprofitable.com/

The link above shows profit and loss of Amazon, Alphabet (Google), Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Mistral AI, Cohere AI, Deepseek, and nVidia.

The only profitable company right now in that list is nVidia, and that's because they're making the chips and cards and selling them to the rest. The others? All massively in the red.

Then you've got GitHub Copilot massively increasing the cost of using their services, so much so that developers are talking about leaving the platform in droves. The important thing though is that we've reached the critical moment when the prices are about to reflect what has been spent on the thing, and if it can't provide value commensurate to the price, then...

*POP* goes the bubble.

Faster, please.

20 Greetings and good morning, one and all! It's a pleasant day so far here in the GPROMD, at least my handlers insist that it is.

Today we have a contractor coming over to inspect our roof to see if any work needs to be done. Because having a house means your money is no longer yours.

And I'm plotting with mom to fly me out the week after Father's Day. Mom was pointing out that they don't do much other than go to doctor appointments and the commissary. I pointed out that I'd rather see dad while he's still functional.

21 Evening and morning, Woden's Day late toilers and early risers!

I'm surprised to see I made the Top Ten Commenters list for the week ending 5/31. I dunno why it's considered to be a badge of shame; I consider it a testimony to how much all of you stimulate my Inner Snarker. (Wasn't there a character on Get Smart called "Snarker"? Or "Shtarker"? Probably that's an insult in Yiddish.)

Anyway! 78 vicious degrees outside, I refuse to look at the heat index, and I need to go work out in it. Howz about you?

29 Last night I dreamed of my late cat Arizona, the big red tabby-with-white Coon mix. Actually it was not him, but a successor (that I've never had in real life) who looked very much like him.

I was driving in a city unfamiliar to me, along a two-lane avenue that suddenly came to an end at a mini-park. I followed other people on foot around the park, and found myself in a house with a young married couple. I could read her thoughts: She was tired of her husband and his attempts at wit. Suddenly a roach flew into the house, and Arizona II chased it outside and killed it. I was combing a couple of burrs out of his thick long coat when I woke up.

They don't cry much when going to the vet -- but that is an eyeblink compared to relocation. Both are pretty quiet most of the time. The late Marie-Antoinette was a talker, and I expected her to cry during long drives, but she settled right down when we were coming back from CO and adapted as she always did. So who knows.

Now that the primaries are over all the Democrat vote that was scattered among the countless number of primairy candidates is going to coalesce behind the Democrat nominee. The Republican primary candidates ran about even with the leading Democrat primary candidates; that probably represents their high watermark, while the Democrat candidate has another 30% or more coming from these other primary candidates. It is possible the Republican can win but more likely than not it's going to be a wipeout. And so goes the Communist state of California.

76 SCOTUS overruled lower court rulings and said "yes" to the Alabama redistricting map.

Glad to see that. The lower court ruling was a direct slap at the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Louisiana case. I think the lower court justices have a lot in common with Scott Pelley “you can’t tell me what to do!!’”

If Google had been Euroweenapeenin, the EU would have continued to use it. The EU is evil too.

97 >>Now that the primaries are over all the Democrat vote that was scattered among the countless number of primairy candidates is going to coalesce behind the Democrat nominee.

They aren't over yet. Mail in ballots are still being counted.

98 I saw quite a few daisies on my walk today ( They seem like such a cheerful flower to me - to anthropomorphize flowers ) and I also saw and smelled some honeysuckle. Lovely

Have a good day everyone and know that you are a blessing to others .

It is fair to say there is something more than a flicker of opposition to the absolute Democratic control of California for the first time in years. I don't think it's strong enough to overcome the last 20 years of one-party rule. Karen Bass got something like close to 40% of the Democrat primary vote after being directly responsible for the palisade fire and the collapse of livability in Los Angeles. Her communist opponent, ramen AKA noodles, got 25% or so. With a track record a failure like that and they're still yanking down 60% to 70% of the votes well that's a tough thing for Pratt to overcome. Factor in all the people that would vote Republican that have left the state it's even worse. Hope I'm wrong but I don't see it. At least not yet.

113 To assume the people of California have "had enough" is to assume they don't like 3rd World Communism.
Republicans will lose gov and LA mayor by double digits in the fall. Maybe triple digits by the time all the votes are counted in 2027.
