Correction: NY's primaries are on June 23, not tonight. Dan Goldman will not be booted out for another three weeks, alas.

Another big race: In New Jersey, the Blind Sheikh's lawyer and character witness, and member of an Al Qaeda front group, and the man who claimed there were no tunnels under the hospital he worked at (despite a Hamas commander being killed in those tunnels, will probably win.

Democrats also have a big primary in the solidly blue 12th District, where Democratic Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman is retiring. A whopping 13 candidates are on the ballot. The frontrunner is plastic surgeon Adam Hamawy, a progressive former Army physician who saved the life of now-Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois in Iraq (she's endorsed him). He leads the field with $1.0 million raised and has benefited from $1.6 million in outside support from American Priorities, a super PAC that supports progressive Democrats who are critical of Israel.
Still, the Egyptian-born Hamawy has attracted scrutiny over some connections from his past. This includes volunteering for a medical association in Bosnia in the mid-1990s that later was found to have ties to Al-Qaida, and a relationship with Omar Abdel-Rahman, known as "The Blind Sheikh," who was convicted for his role in the 1993 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

I don't think I'll be posting much so check in with Ed Morrissey for more coverage.

In California, of course, we'll see the primaries for LA mayor and CA governor. The current top three candidates for governor are Obama/Biden corrupt non-entity Xavier Bercera, Republican Steve Hilton (that British populist who used to appear on Fox News), and evil billionaire lunatic Tom Steyr. I sure hope that Republican sheriff Chad Bianco can pull head so we can have two Republicans in the general, but I doubt it.

In the mayor's race, polling has it Basura first, Pratt second, and Nithya Raman third. Pratt has to hold on to second to make it to the general, and we also don't want Basura to get more than 50% of the "votes," because then she wins the contest without having to go the general.

Update: You're not going to believe this, but another Zohran Mamdani-endorsed congressional candidate turns out to be a communist.

Darializa Avila Chevalier, a democratic socialist congressional candidate endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, deleted a previous Twitter account that included thousands of posts and reposts expressing support for abolishing police, prisons and borders, as well as seizing private property and nationalizing major industries and calling into question Israel's right to exist.
Avila Chevalier, a 32-year-old investigator at a public defender's office in New York City and doctoral student, has emerged as one of the most prominent left-wing challengers in the country after Mamdani endorsed her bid to unseat longtime Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat in New York's 13th Congressional District.
But the posts from her since-deleted account from over the last decade have drawn scrutiny amid her high-profile challenge of Espaillat, a five-term incumbent and chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. That primary, scheduled for June 23, has become a closely watched proxy battle between the Democratic Party's establishment and its ascendant democratic-socialist wing, with Mamdani's endorsement last week elevating the race's national profile.

Some states do not allow you to wear political clothing but from what I can tell, SD you can wear whatever you want. He loves confrontation so I suspect this isn't over.............

In theory yes; in practice no. I believe that he would have to break 50% in order to win outright, and he's polling under 25% in the multi-candidate matchup. If anyone wins in this first ballot, it would be from the fraud machine putting Basura over the top.

So, my theory is that you can witness time travelers in real time at any major event if you are observant and look for them specifically. Human nature is to pick out a spectacle to view. However, during such an event, the last thing on your mind is looking for such travelers.

Most of it is that our ruling class gets wants to get paid by any means possible and use their power to piss all over others. Frankly, as a personality type, the very people that want to win office are the ones most likely to be sociopaths as a class.

Pratt is running for revenge for past wrongs and to help his fellow citizens--that is pretty rare for politicians of any party. I think Trump is in the same category.

In my case and my area, there is a massive spike in batshit crazy behavior, horrible THC intoxicated driving, and synthetic THC drugs sold over the counter as 'hemp'. Police have given up enforcing laws against it as 'hemp' was legalized and promptly the TBD laced became THC laced instead. I also have seen and known artisans that cannot hire young people without them having serious issues with gas station heroin, gummy THCs, etc.

And I think it is spurring murders, etc. This is not the dope of yore with low THC levels but really powerful stuff being sold either natural via plant breeding or synthetic. And I think it is going to get worse before it gets better--each generation has to be burned in order to be a lesson to the newest generation coming up.

In days of yore, it used to be the liquor store. But neither are particularly helpful and I think THC is far more psychoactive than we have been led to believe which risks mental issues--alcohol can soak the brain but it takes a long time to pickle it. Most die horribly of other problems like cirrhosis of the liver or other things first.

But I think psychoactive drugs have the risk of permanently rewiring the brain, perhaps in some cases for the better, but many for the worse. And I think it is particularly bad for young people as their brains are still growing in young adulthood that alcohol simply does not affect in the same way.

Thanks to an earlier SCOTUS ruling, losing candidates have standing to sue regarding an election. If (as we assume) California decides to take a month to count ballots, that will both allow Pratt to sue (with discovery) and underline the need for Election Day to be Election DAY.

A win-win, as they say.

Dave Limp, the unfortunately named CEO of Blue Origin posted an optimistic sounding update on Bezos' Big Boom at LC-36.

He says the tank farm is good, water tower good, and the umbilical tower can be repaired in place. The transporter-erector is gone, but he says they're moving to a "vertical conop", which means vertical concept of operations -- they're going to stack the rockets vertically and transport to pad that way, apparently. He says they'll be flying again before the end of the year.

We'll see. Still no word on the cause of that explosion.

It has been more than a decade since I had one, but it has worried me ever since to think I'd have a bad one and have to not kill the nurse when she handed me ibuprofen.

That time they gave me a mix of dilaudid and fentanyl. My er doc was Doctor Payne. He called it his special blend. He may have been a drug dealer on the side. I did not care as I went from a solid 9.5 on the pain scale to literally nothing.

The plant that kratom comes from is mitragayna speciosa, it’s more related to the coffee plant than the poppy.

It’s found and grown all over Southeast Asia and the Southern Pacific, especially Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The natives chew on the leaves for the effects.

Try going into your average mom and pop gas station nowadays, in many states, it is chocka block full of synthetic 'power' and 'energy' formulations of synthetic drugs with vague descriptions. Back in the day, they sold bath salts until state legislatures banned that. Now the state legislatures and Fedgov are playing whackamole with synthetic drug suppliers and sellers with most of it sourced from China. In many cases, because these are organic compounds, you simply design a new compound slightly different than the old one and sell that until banned. Repeat ad absurdum.

My reading is that Mao's death was the decisive event. The PLA leadership was unhappy with the loss of ranks, the forfeiture of a decade of professionalism and study of modern warfare and their humiliation in border clashes with the Soviets was intolerable.

But while Mao was alive, he could keep the kids crazy.

It was good shit. I literally passed out after only a short breath from screaming for about 6 hours (tried to wait it out.)

I remember Dad driving me home with a huge grin on my face. 'I think im going to throw up, Dad.' He pulls over and I stand on the shoulder while it's snowing, happy as could be. Didn't throw up. Hopped back in and then slept for like 12 hours.

I have a friend who gets bad gout occasionally and a really bad knee that causes him pain, He needed opioids for it. So I told him to try some kratom to see if that would help him instead.

We got some “Pimp Grade Maeng Da” (supposedly the most powerful processed kratom money can buy) to see if it helped the knee pain. He tried it and saud it didn’t really help, That could be because he got tolerance from all the painkilkers he took, though.

A lot of people use it for pain management and swear by it.

It’s also good for ex-heroin addicts who are trying to tamp down urges.

You could try some and see if it helps.
You can buy it online, but it’s banned in some cities, counties, and states have banned it, so you’d need to check on that first.

Kratom won’t touch Percocet.

By the time you downed enough kratom to match a Percocet you’d be passed out on the floor before any pain relief hit you.

I wouldn’t worry about trying kratom in that case.

Good to know. Side note: when I had a kidney stone, percocet did not really 'work' per se. They just made the pain manageable and distant.

That is what was so insane about the cocktail they gave me that time. The pain disappeared. Nearly instantly. Just gone. Not distant.

During my various surgeries and accidents, I am well acquainted with opiods. Frankly I don't care for them. I take them as prescribed and finish the prescription and don't get a second one. For things like knee surgery and the immediate need for rehab, they are a necessary evil but I don't like feeling like I don't care whether I am alive or dead.

I got Dilaudid after crushing my knee cap in a fall from the ER. Don't care for it, makes me nauseous. Had morphine drips in hospital for knee surgery, don't care for it, destroys my personality into a flat affect, had oxycontin, gives me an excruciating headache and nausea. Told docs I was allergic to it. Substitued vicodin, slight relief, but you cannot think on it and it last just enough during sleep that you wake up after 4-5 hours in pain. Had fentanyl for recent spinal surgery, arm and elbow surgeries, etc. It eliminates pain but also thought.

So, outside of actual surgery, I find painkillers as a drag--they give you constipation, they cloud your mind, etc.

Acute pain like kidney stones need treatment. But taking them for chronic pain is like putting a gun to your head and pulling the trigger. I have chronic pain due to arthritic damage from inflammatory arthritis. Major joints are deteriorated, nerves got pinched by bone spurring, etc. My conclusion is better to just live with it and use heat, ice, stretching, pt, movement, and sleep as best as you can. Beats whatever the chemists cook up in the long run plus much less side effects.

I'm with you whig. I'm weaning off oxycodone after almost 5 years on it, after multiple back surgeries during that time. I hate it with a passion and have been off for 2 weeks now. The pain is still there but I'd almost rather deal with that than the side-effects of the drug.

My biggest regret is getting the surgeries. I think they actually made me worse.
