Duckling rescue squad!

Senior dog moves better than Biden and is ten IQ points smarter. And he's rested and ready to serve.

Cat just couldn't let the last little drop go.

German shepherd checks up on the new kittens.

This German shepherd is almost as keen a reader as I am.

Kitty door.

I think maybe hummingbirds would be easier to befriend than crows. Spencer Pratt managed it easily enough.

Oh, and crow update: The crow caller does something, but I don't know what. I can't summon the crows, but I sure can get them squawking. I had about a dozen of them squawking and cawing. But I don't know if their squawking was friendly or hostile, because I don't know if the sounds I'm making are friendly or hostile. I might be saying the crow version of the n-word.

If the crows don't work out, there are other birds.

Dancing with your cow.

Beyond the looking glass.

Even penguins understand right of way. So why do humans not understand they're not supposed to block the doors of buses, subways, and buildings as people are exiting?

Puppy fights are always charming. They might look violent, but damage is minimal because at that age they're basically rubber bands. You can see by the posture and tail carriage that both parties know it's play.

Today is the 61st anniversary of the first American spacewalk, done by Ed White on Gemini 4. Here's a video of that:

t.ly/v9XxN

Note a glove floated out of the open hatch at the 5:43 mark. And further note I had to say first American and not just first. Damned Rooskies beat us on that as well.

Although Alexei Leonov nearly killed himself doing it. His commie spacesuit ballooned too much and he couldn't fit back in the hatch. He had to drop the pressure to dangerously low levels, and became overheated and exhausted. He got back in, but just barely.

94 The Reckless vs the evil empire of Pricks and Minidicks keeps getting more interesting.

A case that was once about 780 stolen sets of Star Wars Lego has now morphed into a First Amendment case because of a tyrant in a black robe.

Two bizarre and insane paragraphs. The Provo UT judge ordered that all of Reckless Ben's videos be removed from the Internet and that he would be barred from making anymore. Then to put a cherry on this shit sandwich, this same judge then said bond is waived because there is no evidence that Reckless Ben could suffer monetary harm.

This is what provoked Patrron's CEO to go online and tell Pricks and Minidicks to stuff their paperwork and to sue Patreon.

June 22d is when Reckless Ben can finally have his day in court. He now has a Civil Rights attorney, high powered one it seems, on his side who is already trying to move this case to a Federal court because of the First Amendment implications.

And now I have this image of Ammon McJerkoff as a Scoody Doo villain going, "I could've gotten away with it."

The Rooskies learned we were planning a spacewalk with Gemini, as EVAs would be necessary for the moonshot. So, they decided to upstage and do it first, and to do that, that got reckless with modifications to the Voskhod spacecraft, and all of that conspired to nearly kill the crew, more than once.

Soviet capsules were pressurized to 1 atm with a normal earth-air mix. And they could not be depressurized. So they had to rig a crude airlock contraption. When Leonov suit ballooned, he had to lower pressure greatly to squeeze back in, but he induced the bends, because of all the nitrogen.

And then, when he barely made it back inside, the inner hatch wouldn't seal properly. They didn't carry any extra N with them, so the system started compensating with O2, and that was very bad for the system (this bit us in the ass with Apollo 1 later). They had to come back down quick. Then the retrorocket system failed, requiring manual firing, which put their landing zone way off course and they landed on a high peak in the Urals. Bitter cold, and it took a day for the rescue crew to get to them.

113 The problem with the word pride in English is that it is doing double duty. The French have two different words for pride: orgueil, which is the bad sort of pride (Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall), and fierté, which is patriotic pride, pride in doing the right thing, and so forth.

What the less insane folks to the left of the "T" in LGBTQ are realizing is they're the ones being "erased." You can't be gay or lesbian anymore because sex is just some gauzy intangible construct, and you're a transphobe if you're a gay man who doesn't want to have sex with a "transman" or a lesbian who doesn't want to have sex with a "transwoman," especially one with their dicks still a-swingin'. Like all victim classes they got used and are now being marginalized within their own "movement." It's kind of fascinating from a sociopolitical perspective.

The Basset became kind of aggressive following me to the door. I asked the old timer and he said Oh he's fine he wont bother you. On my very next trip that Hound jumped up and nipped me in the ass. Or they're really flamboyant and try to be larger than life. One of my friends from school was a classic Theater Kid, loved to sing, tried to dance, very emotional, eccentric and the girl he took to prom was just a friend (and she came out as a lesbian a year later).

Obviously gay, right? Nope. He was just a younger brother trying to get attention from his very cool older brother, who was only two years over and totally overshadowed him throughout schoo. He found an equally exuberant wife.

247 That sounds great! The steak sandwiches were inhaled here and no one even said anything about the whole grain baguettes. 😂. There was minor whining over the green bean fries. But they were eaten, too.

I worked in canneries for six years, Summers, and I grew to loathe green beans. But, my wife likes them and honestly a garden is hardly a garden without beans or peas on trellises, so I grew them, and even canned them.
I find that after [mumblety] years I actually like home canned green beans. I loathe Santiam brand because that is what I canned and I know what went in the cans and who put it there, but home grown beans are good.

251 The first time I saw The Imitation Game, I was hesitant. I was afraid they would have lengthy, steamy love scenes, something I cannot abide; but they dealt with Alan Turing's story well. And I find it rather horrible how they dealt with his condition. One of the most brilliant minds in history, and he died, despondent and forgotten.

I was a kid going to YMCA summer camp when "YMCA" came out, and it was a huge hit with everyone involved.

The Village People had both gay guys and straights, and I think last year it was pointed out that the straight guys didn't get a lot of the gay references.

Donna Summer's "MacArthur Park" is a banger. Family favorite. A bunch of her stuff is great.

My father was a HUGE disco fan. Used 4/4 time and pre-rock and roll dance steps he learned were still valid. After my parents divorced, he lived his best life.

I only recently learned that he ended up marrying my stepmother because after he got tired of the hottest chick in the dating pool, she was next in line.

Disco was a plague. My best memories was watching the disco clubs fall one by one and get taken taken over by the metal heads in the very very early 80's. We swept them clean and they became metal clubs. Dozens and dozens of them with metal bands playing 7 nights a week. It was fucking glorious.

276 There is no evidence to suggest that Alan Turing was a pedophile.
