Army Veteran Violently Assaulted Because He Decorated His House with Trump Flags Dies on Memorial Day

He was beaten so badly he died within days.

The owner of a heavily decorated pro-Trump home in Southern California has died days after he was beaten to a pulp allegedly by a Navy veteran.
Kerry Sheron, a 69-year-old Army veteran known locally for covering his residence with MAGA banners and American flags, died Sunday night after nearly a week hospitalized in critical condition.
The attack happened May 20 outside Sheron's home in Escondido, police said.

Prosecutors allege 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler attacked Sheron in what officials described as an unprovoked assault.
Butler, who has been described in local reports as a Navy veteran, has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder, elder abuse, criminal threats and battery.
"It was a single punch to the jaw," Garcia said. "The victim then falls to the floor, and there are subsequent hits to the victim's head area."
Security footage obtained by local media allegedly showed Sheron standing outside his Buchanan Street home before the suspect approached and attacked him. A nearby witness reportedly attempted to intervene before the suspect fled the area on foot.

In the days before Sheron's death, his wife, Maria, gave an emotional update, telling reporters there was "no hope" for her husband as he remained hospitalized with devastating injuries.
She also said the family had been preparing for the worst after doctors warned that Sheron's condition had rapidly deteriorated due to severe head trauma.

Now, I'll be honest, I don't think too much about complaints about anyone on either side "politicizing" deaths. Deaths are, either factually or arguably, a consequence of policy choices. I don't think it's out of bounds to point out that someone's policies result in excess deaths.

But this I do object to: Posting this on Memorial Day. Memorial Day is for honoring those who gave all in defense of the country, not puppeteering their bodies to make political ads.

They had nothing good to say about the dead of war until they caught hell for only seeing the honored dead in terms of political propaganda.

A gunman was killed in a shootout with the Secret Service outside the White House on Saturday, after officials said he took out a gun and started firing at officers.
What we know:
The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the area of 17th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the U.S. Secret Service, a person walked up to a security checkpoint, pulled a handgun out of his bag, and started firing at officers. Officers shot back, hitting the suspect. A male bystander was also hit and suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Paramedics took the gunman to the hospital and later died, the Secret Service confirmed. Police have identified the suspect as Nasire Best, 21, of Maryland.

Near nonstop political violence by the left against the right is pretty incivil, isn't it, Mike?

There was a case 15+ years ago when we lived in connecticut where a guy got into a fight at a bar and punched a dude who fell and hit his head on the curb in the parking lot. He died before the ambulance got there. They charged the guy with murder but IIRC it got downgraded to manslaughter in a plea deal.

Don’t take this the wrong way Ace, but it’s not a policy, it’s a choice.

We put on the uniform to defend the country. Every one who does that no matter how they serve, realizes it can end in death- and we’re ok with that. It comes with the territory.

Being in the military is a dangerous job. Hundreds of soldiers die each year on training accidents. The rigors of combat kills scores more through suicide.

That said, anyone pointing out the deaths of soldiers and using it to grandstand is not just dishonoring those soldiers, it is demeaning their service and reducing it to a political throw away line.

We're in the "Bloody Kansas" phase of ACW #2. The Democrats have come to realization that they can't win in the ballot box, so they're resorting to violence.

Maybe I'm just a crazy optimist, but I think that the strategy of violence will alienate most American citizens. Pres. Trump is going to hang this murder around the neck of the Democrats.

Being drunk or high generally is not a mitigating factor in crimes. The exception is for crimes that require ‘specific intent’ to commit the criminal act. For example, some ‘murder one’ capital crimes require a very specific intent to intentionally murder the person you kill. If you are very drunk or high at the time, you might get the benefit of the doubt in being unable to formulate that level of specific intent.

As much as I love President Trump, I am most disappoint with his significant policy reversal a couple weeks ago -- publicly stating his support for allowing approximately 500,000 to 600,000 Chinese students to study in American universities, arguing that removing these students would cause lower-tier U.S. colleges to collapse financially and described it as "insulting" to tell China that their students are unwanted.

[And, as The Wifey points out, how many of those ChiComm students -- virtually all from very wealthy families -- are going to be attending "lower-tier U.S. colleges" anyway?]

231 In Savannah there was a decent South African sandwich place, Zunzi's. But I think it was, like all the different influences, Italian, Dutch, Swiss, on SA cooking. The food was good. Instead of deli cut meat, it was roast meats in a fresh baked roll. I liked it. It would have a line city blocks long.

Not excusing this guy for anything but if he is a veteran and being treated by the VA for PTSD or some other mental issues literally anything can trigger an psychotic episode with the drugs they hand out.

Heck they gave chantrix to vets to quit smoking. That drug had multiple black box warnings for psychotic issues but they handed that stuff out like candy to vets to help us quit smoking. I took it for about a week and had multiple issues and some seriously fvcked up dreams. They got mad when I quit taking it.

I think it's a mistake to look at things like Venezuela, Cuba and Iran as discreet foreign policy issues. Aside from being generational problems for us they also all have one thing in common, China.

China not only had effective control over Venezuela they also controlled the Panama Canal. Now they don't have either. It's no coincidence Hamas has been all over Venezuela for years, they were part of the China access because of Iran. And now we are taking down Iran and securing another crucial waterway, the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump has gained a lot of negotiating power over the last few months over China. Now the discussions of what China needs to do are coming from a different place.
