Val de Funes, South Tyrol, Italy

Watch your step.

In case you missed it, this mini doodle puppy is just too much.

A stray cat nursed eight orphaned hedgehogs.

Parents adopt the shelter dog that their daughter had been caring for.

Boy is reunited with his missing dog.

Dramatic husky is a dying of thirst or something.

Dog adopts injured parrot.

Grieving mother adopts "unadoptable" cane corso on the day of his scheduled euthanasia.

Cute little skypuppy.

I spent a lot of time in food quality. Any of a few I could name were worse than a paper mill.

The smell that hits you when you open a unrefrigerated trailer of raw potatoes in August is pretty bad. Especially when they are liquidating from the putrefaction.

But, the absolute worst. Central Valley of California for the annual tomato harvest. They send the tomatoes from the trucks by washing them into troughs that, like a log ride, carry them along to the processing facility. Once there, they are waterfalled down to a tank for a final rough wash. There is a ton of vapor in the air to carry the smell. It is unforgettable. Just transcendently nasty.

Milk and dairy is bad. But. Even a small amount of spoilage (spill) is easily noticed and so usually they are cleaned far more effectively than any other food plant.

I imagine wherever they manufacture that horrid shit has to be isolated far away from human settlements. I think it would actually be impossible to bear it.

108 Evening, Ace, and Cafe layabouts! Good work day here at Casa de Peon. Roof repair is complete, except for replacing a few random shingle tabs that blew away. Hammer, nails, utility knife, and tar patch will fix that up tonight, easy-peasy. And I took down, sanded and repainted most of the green-painted wood window trim on 2 sides of the house. Really spiffed it up, for a little light labor this afternoon. Nice breeze helped!

126 >> But if the math holds out, this planet packs a Jupiter-class dynamo in a package the size of Mars.

Now that is damned interesting. The problem with red dwarf stars for habitable zone planets is they are very prone to flares and outbursts. And being so dim, the habitable zone is very close in, meaning any planet there could get zapped by sterilizing flares all the time.

K and G are the best bets, but the argue about which of those is truly the best.
