The Morning Report — 5/ 22/26

SHAMETHUNE.jpg

Good morning kids. Well it's scum on parade once more, so a day ending in "Y" here at the Morning Report. First, I was remiss (though truth be told I never came across any links, believe it or not) in neglecting to note the passing of one of the most singularly reprehensible and destructive individuals to hold elective office in the past 50 years if not in our history. That would be the former congressman from Massachusetts the late and unlamented Barney Frank.

Here is a complete rap sheet of this friggin' termite courtesy of the invaluable DiscovertheNetworks.

Besides running a teenage male prostitution ring out of his home, he was one of the key architects in the collapse of the housing market and the tanking of our economy in 2008 among other Democrat/Leftist catastrophes that we are still digging our way out from the rubble lo these many years later... His worldview and voting record over the ouse of his career are a testament to Democrat/Leftist scietal destruction in pursuit of absolute power. Period full stop. Odd that on his deathbed he publicly chastised his party for the positions it held and advanced. Nearer my God to Thee or an attempt at taqqiya sunrising to prevent future Democrat electoral wipeouts?

Barney Frank Warns the Left is Destroying Democrats . . ."Many of my colleagues who I know agree with me but are inhibited from saying so.”

As I recall the spoof ditty created by Rush Limbaugh to the tune of Abba's "Dancing Queen" referring to Frank as The Banking Queen, let us move on to the next subject in the "Conga Line of Freaks" per old Yeller Mark Levin, shall we?

Congressional Democrats are moving to shut down President Donald Trump’s proposed $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund, escalating a political fight over compensation for Americans who say they were targeted by politically motivated prosecutions and federal lawfare.

Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, is introducing legislation aimed at preventing any federal money from being used to create or distribute payments through the fund. . .

At the same time, some establishment Republicans are also voicing opposition to the fund. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick told reporters Wednesday that he would “try to kill” the program.

. . . Supporters of the fund argue it represents a long-overdue effort to compensate Americans harmed by politically driven prosecutions and abuses of government power.

Critics, meanwhile, claim the program would improperly use taxpayer money to compensate individuals tied to controversial investigations, including those connected to the January 6 Capitol protest.

Two law enforcement officers who were present at the Capitol on Jan. 6 have already filed a lawsuit seeking to dissolve the fund entirely.

Well as to Jamie Raskin, Cancer is as cancer does. He and his party led by Malig-Nancy Pelosi either directly engineered and orchestrated the events of 1/6 or else created the conditions and fiction that Trump was inciting an insurrection when it was in fact an entrapment sting to create that pretext and illusion to oppress and suppress the enemies of the Left and Deep State. And GOP confederates like Fitzpatrick et al are equally guilty of perpetuating the corrupt status quo regardless of the consequences to the American people and Republic.

And speaking of which that brings us to the next diseased turd floating by in the punchbowl...

The Senate is heading home until June without finishing a reconciliation bill, after Republican tensions over the package coincided with President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX) against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Brendan Pedersen, a senior reporter with Punchbowl News, posted on X: “Thune asked if Senate Rs are responding to politics — ie, Trump endorsements and snubs this week ‘It’s hard to divorce anything that happens here from what’s happening in political atmosphere around us,’ Thune said. ‘You can’t disconnect those things.’”While Republican Senators publicly claim substantive issues with the bill were the driving factor behind the early vacation, Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) acknowledged President Donald Trump’s Tuesday endorsement of Ken Paxton over incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) weighed heavily on Republican Senators’ minds as they skipped town instead of advancing a top Trump priority as planned.

Yes, the Barney Franks, Jamie Raskins and Malig-Nancy Pelosis we are afflicted with are horrid enough but Thune and his ilk and their criminal fecklessness and naked, shameless collusion with them and farcical kabuki "opposition" as is embodied in the likes of JOHN THUNE and sadly many like him all over the GOP is why our nation is circling the drain, or at least was until enough decent people said enough is enough and elected a man who to greater or lesser extent recognized that were headed off a cliff and now 11 years since descending the golden Trump Tower escalator, he has almost singlehandedly at a minimum put the brakes on and has attempted to throw us in reverse. We shall see if MAGA is indeed the start of the movement for American renaissance or merely a speed bump on the road to Hell.

The rejection of Thomas Massie will go a long way but it's only a start!

Thomas Massie’s defeat in Kentucky’s Republican primary was not merely the fall of one Republican congressman. It was the collapse of an illusion -- an illusion that has grown inside parts of America’s online Right over the past few years: that a few million followers, a handful of popular podcasts, several viral clips, and some anti-establishment slogans can replace party machinery, voter loyalty, local networks, money, organization, and real political power.

Kentucky shattered that illusion. Not in a television debate, not in an intellectual quarrel, not in another online shouting match, but in the one place where politics strips away fantasy and reveals itself: the ballot box.

Just like the Leftists, you can expect the voices on the Right to become even more shrill, vulgar and vituperative in their attacks on all of us than even the most strident of Lefties.

Whom we are at long last rejecting for their duplicity and fraudulence in foisting RINO globalists and big government stooges on us. It will be a long time in coming but when all of them are gone from the scene, it will be glorious.

Have a relaxing, fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

16 Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen were confronted by an aggressive man who accused them of faking the moon mission.

'Stop lying! Stop acting! You all never went to space,' the man shouted as he filmed himself approaching the crew.

The befuddled crew simply stood in uncomfortable silence as the man berated them, apparently trying their best to pretend he wasn't there.

The man continued: 'Follow Jesus! God's watching you all!'

As Glover smiled and gave an uneasy wave, he went on: 'Stop lying to the public! Your psyop isn't working on millions of us! NASA's a joke!'

31 Amputation rates are on the rise — especially among a surprising at-risk population

Over the six-year period, amputations rose overall, by 35.3% (from 58.9 to 79.7 per 10,000 people). But among patients whose cases involved opioids, the increase was dramatically steeper, climbing by 66% (from 55.6 to 92.3 per 10,000).

The sharpest spikes in opioid-related amputations were seen in parts of the Northeast and West.

In 2020, just 246 people tried to sneak into Poland from Belarus through the marshy wetlands on the border, according to the Polish government’s records. There was a pandemic on, after all. But over the following year, almost 40,000 migrants from Syria, Somalia, Iran, Afghanistan, India and other countries crossed or attempted to cross this frontier. Those migrants didn’t end up in Belarus by accident. Some were carrying Russian visas or entry stamps. Russia and its ally — some would say lackey — Belarus were, in effect, importing migrants, delivering them to the Polish-Belarusian border and telling them to head to Poland.

64 The author of the DNC autopsy believes Democrats were too hesitant to put President Donald Trump in prison.

“The retrospective evaluation of Donald Trump’s presidency was too positive. Given the ability of right-wing entities to slash and smear the Vice President, it was essential to prosecute a more effective case as to why Trump should have been disqualified from ever again taking office. The grounds were there, but the messaging did not make sense.”

Never mind that Trump’s mug shot proved one of the defining images of his campaign. The photo appeared on Trump merchandise almost immediately after Trump was released from Fulton County Jail in August 2023. The mug shot now hangs outside the Oval Office.

20% turnover in GOPe Senators lately is not enough. We need good candidates.
Posted by: NaCly Dog
======
There are good candidates galore but they don't have funding enough to run except as long shots. And a good candidate in one state would be a lousy one in another.

What we can do is not necessarily ensure good people but set up incentives not to be bad in office like firing the Thom Tillis types.

And far too many people fall in love with candidates--to my way of thinking, the guys picking up your garbage are more important, not so much who is your senator or rep. Falling in love with a politician only means they will eventually betray you and break your heart. Best not get invested emotionally, especially with pretty words when they do their dirty deeds done dirt cheap for donors or party insiders.

They are there to represent us because all the voters cannot fit into the Capitol, so someone has to do the boring and frankly hideous job of legislating. So a studied measure of contempt, dry sarcasm, and willingness to replace them as components is needed. Quality assurance one might say.

1.) It was no mistake; Dick Armey got it right.

2.) As long as we're eulogizing Barney Fag, my favorite thing about him was this: his notorious, nation-wtecking financial corruption aside, I will never forget when, perhaps fifteen years after he walked away without so much as a single charge for sex trafficking in teen boys, he did an interview where he bemoaned the fact that the Republicans' House censure of him for his well-known pederasty had nearly "ruined [his] social life."

Not that it *did* ruin it, mind you - just that there were a couple months when Georgetown AWFLs were uncomfortable being seen with him in their parlors, and child-buggering panderers were skittish about inviting him into their fleshpots. This was an act of lese-majeste he harbored a lifelong grudge about.

Barney Fag's life epitomized the corruption, vacuity and arrogance of America's ruling class during the waning years of the Republic.

I've been around too many political consultants over the years. A very few were decent people, most, I would put on the level of Mel Brooks, "The Producers". And that is in part why the GOP is so bad at politics, consultants don't make money from volunteers and actual popularity, they make money by mailers, robocalls, advertising placements, and communications management. The Rick Jackson phenomenon in GA is an example. This guy spent over $100 million so far--his wife donates to Democrats, he donated to Jeb and Cheney plus Stacey Abrams, he clearly hates having to deal with average citizens in political show and greet, and his campaign consists of slanderous mailers, robocalls, media ad placements, and campaign signage. A fake, gay, Potemkin candidacy allied with the Kemp faction in GA politics.

Dooley for Senate is the same way.

Feeling like the 250 celebrations are completely hollow this year. I’m a pretty patriotic person, and normally I’d be overjoyed about all the 250‑year freedom celebrations. But right now it just feels fake. The admin in the office, including my own elected representatives, clearly can’t stand me or the work I do. It all feels like a performance layered over a bunch of hostility.

Feels like more of a wake than a birthday celebration. I will be mourning this 4th.

1976 had actual unity around it, now everything gets weaponized before the decorations even go up. I'm going to Celebrate Juneteenth , with the flag Asshats name hasn't been Imposed on. Black Lives Matter flag. The Nation is lost currently, I can't celebrate that.

I wouldn't count on a bloody civil War. I would count on quiet acceptance like billions of people do on earth. They accept that they're under the authoritarian boot. There's no heroic uprising.

No way! We will rise. Minnesota taught me that even under extreme authoritarian rule, resistance works. We are an incredible country, and the corrupt disgusting president will not take that from us!

May 15 marks one year since Governor Kathy Hochul enacted a “bell-to-bell” ban on personal phones in public schools, impacting almost a million children in K-12 public and charter schools across the state.

“I think that the cell phone ban has been remarkable,” Dr. Jessica Chock-Goldman, director of clinical services at Bard High School Early College of Manhattan on the Lower East Side, told The Post. “I’ve been astounded by how much of a shift it has been.”

This regime sent a million of its followers to die for nothing during the Iran-Iraq war. They’re busy executing everyone inside Iran who complains too loudly, and much like North Korea, they maintain absolute control over the military and internal security services.

A summer of economic hardship is nothing to them, and the “blockade” is far more porous than we like to pretend it is. Our “good friend” Pakistan has 6 major rail crossings where goods pour into Iran every day. The people will suffer from the economic decline, but the regime won’t.

Nope. Special sessions may be called when Congress is in recess or have adjourned sine die. President can also adjourn Congress if the House and Senate disagree on adjournment.

Normally the House has to ask the Senate for permission to do so which galls the House to no end but they can ask the president to do so.

I keeping hearing that "Trump is surrendering to Iran". It's the most ridiculous propaganda imaginable. The military action was about as lop-sided as you can imagine, and Iran's economy has been practically shut down.

It was clear from the start - and I remember Ace commenting to this effect - that the US and Israel aim to END THIS, once and for all. There would be no point to it otherwise.

All the talk of "negotiation" is for suckers. Either it REALLY means Trump is bribing Iranian insiders or Trump is stalling for time to get ready for the endgame. Trump always gives his opponent the opportunity to do the right thing, but he doesn't really EXPECT them to do the right thing.

168 Starship/Superheavy launch scrubbed at T-40 seconds

"Though SpaceX mission controllers tried several times to restart the countdown when it went into an automatic hold at T-40 seconds due to some technical issues, they eventually decided to scrub the Starship/Superheavy launch today.

At present they expect to try again tomorrow, with a launch window opening at 5:30 pm (central). Expect updates later today or tomorrow."

SpaceX will try again today. As of now. 6:30 PM Eastern. Launch window is about 2 hours.

My educated speculation:
Trying again 24 hours after yesterday's several temperature-related issues inside T-40 seconds, tells me the engineers are confident they understand the cause(s). They'll change temperature limits in the launch sequencer computer program for the T-0 launch pad-vehicle quick disconnects that violated limits yesterday. No hardware fixes. The engineers must have test data and computer models that indicate they can safely change the limits up or down to accommodate the temperatures observed yesterday.

I wish them success today!

180 Iran/IRGC and Hormuz...

Shippers who are paying bigly to just be in the area with their multi-billion dollar vessels are not convinced it's safe. That's the problem, and why we're sitting on our collective thumbs.

The IRGC will "guarantee" safe passage for certain vessels.... for a fee. Some shippers are willing to pay it. But some shippers won't. And some vessels, registered or flagged in a country the IRGC is currently at war with will never be permitted into our out of the Persian Gulf. As long as the IRGC controls Hormuz.

The IRGC, correctly, has assumed that if they hold the Hormuz at risk, they will have a stronger negotiating stance. If they can't control Hormuz....

Prying the IRGC out of their bunkers and hideouts across hundreds of square miles is no easy task.

This is where we are. IMO

Saw a really interesting piece on X yesterday by a guy who goes by the name of GreenBeretNapTime or something like that. Very detailed piece so he is clearly knowledgable about the ethnic/tribal makeup of Iran and the government.

He claims that because of the lack of internet or real media coverage a lot of what is going on in Iran is based on regime leaks or assumptions and not fact. His claim is that there are lots of cracks and fractures in the regimes control and they are being exploited during the negotiations. Sounds at least plausible.

214 I am rather surprised at how many young people walk around the campus and town of the local institution of higher learning glued to their cell phone. For all I know they may bump into people because they're looking at their cell phones. I am glad I grew up before cell phones. It has nothing to do with actual "legislation." It has everything to do with eliminating the grift. That's what the GOPe in the Senate are opposing.

Don't know about that. Most of those types are cynical assholes that pay to play--the industries (mainly subsidized) by the Democrats will continue to donate, the productive industries will tend toward GOP because the Dems are anti business generally.

Lobbyists for the most part are stone cold assholes--they don't care who is in power but they must get their employer's legislative business in play regardless of personal feelings. And Trump has shown, he is the biggest and baddest mfer in DC and not to be trifled with. He is currently sitting on 350 billion buck warchest and runs the RNC. I heard that about "cracks and fractures". How can it NOT be true? You have a situation where the top leadership routinely gets wiped out from bombing! The ones REALLY in control are gone, and everyone else is wondering who's going to stab them in the back to try to either seize power or to sell out to the Americans to save their hides.

That's another thing about the negotiations (and maybe it's really the same thing you're saying). Trump talks of working with moderate insiders, but the Iranians don't seem to know who they are. It could be that they don't really exist, but that Trump says those things to stoke the paranoia they must be having towards each other.

The common narrative about Trump is that he is a deal maker. I think a lot of people make the mistake of thinking that means he will make a deal no matter the cost.

If history is any guide, and it is, Trump makes deals where Trump wins or he finds a way to destroy his opponent. See Massie, Thomas.

Trump knows exactly what is happening in Iran, much more than we do because he is probably getting daily if not hourly updates from those pesky Jews who have been on the ground in Iran for years. He also knows what the mullahs are all about and he also knows the geopolitical issues that surround Iran including the ME and China.

6th years of presidencies and House elections are weird. You usually do not see big losses or gains if the previous election was not a wave election. 2024 was not a legislative wave election nor was 2022 much.

Too many analysts throw in second presidential mid terms in with first term. First presidential term midterms are usually awful. Disenchantment with the policies of a new president, opposing party if a wave exists taking back marginal seats, and so on. Sometimes there is a drubbing but usually over really bad issues--1938 was FDR's dip back into a major recession plus 1936 was a wave election. 1974 was Watergate and hapless Ford. But 1958 was okay for Ike, 1986 was not terrible for Reagan though he lost the Senate, and 1998 was good for Clinton gaining seats.

Senate is more dependent on whose seats are up and good candidates, the House is more attuned to national conditions at the time of election.

It worked so well in 2020 that they shut down ballot counting in six states in the middle of the night and ballot box stuffed like Tammany Hall to barely get Biden an electoral college victory.

The late 60s showed Democrats steadily losing power because of the race riots.

2020 is the exception to the rule...and it's got a weird asterisk.

It has made me more effective.

Will they replace me with it? Well...it also does dumb things so you need to check it. And someone has to tell it what to do just to start with - and that's not going to be some VP or something like that.

So what will the mid term let alone long term effects be? Hard to say.

But at least right now I'm more worried about globo corps replacing Americans with H1Bs.

Of course he is. On the other hand just because some don't agree with his strategy it doesn't make him wrong.

His record of success in foreign affairs so far going back to his first term where he wiped out ISIS in a minute after the experts said it was impossible has given him a long leash in my opinion. And his team both civilian and military is so far above his predecessors I have confidence they have a realistic plan to achieve the goals they laid out.

They have an amount of arrogance that is hard to comprehend. THEY are the critical leaders in government, not some %$#@ who was elected to come to DC for 4 years.

They value their fellow Senators more than their constituents. They sure as heck don't want to hear from us, or God forbid, have to explain why they are doing what they're doing (you wouldn't understand). Just looking at how many die in office, they truly believe that the country would cease to function if we were deprived on just one minute of their "public service."

They have made it clear that they owe nothing to Trump, nor feel any need to do anything he wants.

That's definitely part of it. The machine that Mitch maintained in the Senate still exists, but loyalists are leaving in a drove this year alone.

Imagine Tillis being replaced by Whatley (fingers crossed those registration gains for the GOP in NC pan out...last time Cooper won statewide there were 400,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans, there are now 10,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats).

We'll get some other asshole who tries to hold things up (new Utah senator seems ground zero), but that guy has no pull himself.

I think the worry for some is over how high gas prices will affect the GOP in 2026 midterms.

For shitheads like Kagan, they want US boots on the ground for regime change which is absolutely stupid.

For the uranium, going in and taking it is akin to a trap for US forces. We are very good at force projection but that facility is in the middle of Iran and would take a lot of time to retrieve. Meanwhile it would allow the Iranians to surge toward the US trapped forces there. Something like Anzio in WWII or Bastogne. High casualties are likely.

There is a limit as to what we are willing to do and Trump is not going to send troops ashore just to invade Iran--he just isn't nor should we expect that. The air campaign is holding off but can be resumed immediately but aimed at what targets?

The economic war is grinding down the regime despite being slow and mostly out of sight. And we forget one thing, we are producing the high priced oil for our country, not sending money abroad to buy it this go around. Not true of previous Middle East crises. The money is staying here.

In fairness to the people that made this change the notion there would be so much voter fraud and so many voters that don't pay attention to who they are voting for would have seemed insane.

And on this last point the data is stunning...for example 10-15% of Dem voters believe the Dem party is pro-life. Now imagine you could force those people to sit and watch Dem speeches on abortion Clockwork Orange style. No I don't think that means the Dems lose 10-15% of their vote...but maybe they lose 2%.

Historically, it usually fails. Same for terrorism and political violence generally and this is across countries. Violence tends to keep the government in power that combats it, not the ones that promote it.

One of my old profs was one the big names in that particular area and it is why that violent political movements, if they don't pull off an immediate victory, end up returning to the political process as a party. Sein Fein is an example. So is the party Petro represents in Colombia. And elsewhere.

And the 1964 election put LBJ in charge with large majorities despite the GOP having nothing to do with JFK's assassination. Nixon won a landslide in 1972, in part, because violent student activists, etc. put Americans off on voting D. Even a lot of Democrats ended up voting for Tricky Dick.

GOP is the law and order party, Democrats cannot claim that as they try to move toward defunding cops, etc.

From above, "He and his party led by Malig-Nancy Pelosi either directly engineered and orchestrated the events of 1/6 or else created the conditions and fiction that Trump was inciting an insurrection when it was in fact an entrapment sting to create that pretext and illusion to oppress and suppress the enemies of the Left and Deep State. And GOP confederates like Fitzpatrick et al are equally guilty of perpetuating the corrupt status quo regardless of the consequences to the American people and Republic.

Looking back at Charlottesville, imagine the run January 6th is gonna have!

For example, Harry Dunn (among many others) with his harrowing testimony and Written Statement of Harry A. Dunn, Private First Class U.S. Capitol Police, Hearing Before the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, U.S. House of Representatives January 27, 2021.

Harry's still going strong.

Msm also solidly tied Carlson and Fuentes to "America First."

And someday soon there could be a real statue on the National Mall of Nancy Pelosi & her photographer daughter, Alexandra, to commemorate it.

The mullahs have no other option really. Russia doesn't care about Iran as it is raking in high oil prices with Iran's absence. China is now getting oil from the US in part as an inducement to stop propping up the mullahs.

Iran has pissed off even its Gulf allies by launching missiles everywhere to the extent that their offshore money in Qatar, etc. is now frozen at best, and will be taken by host countries for damages at worst.

Trying to mine the Straits is a no go with USN there and their speedboat fleet can be shattered with an A-10 or copters with cheap cannon fire.

So they are like a guy trying to fight eviction--they cannot go out but nothing much is coming in, they got no money, and it doesn't matter that they have a gun if they are sitting in the darkness, power off, and no water. If they come out, they will be finished off. If they sit, they will likely go nuts and suicide.
