Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Arrogant Smug Liberal RINO Bill Cassidy Not Only Loses Primary, But Loses It to Two Different Candidates, Getting Shut Out of the Run-OffMitt RomneyIf it makes this smug Elmer Gantry pissant cry, it must make the angels smile. Bill Cassidy was a frequent guest on Jake Tapper's unwatched "show," of course. He was usually brought on to, get this, support the Democrats' attacks on Trump. CNN copes and seethes and attempts to defend the Democrats' mole. Trump sent a message by targeting Bill Cassidy. In defeat, Cassidy delivered one backOh it's a moral victory. Awesome. Oh he was fighting for the future while Trump only cared about the past. Awesome. Cassidy offers two contradictory claims, both which, get this, attack Trump and elevate Cassidy's ego. First, he says that the honorable thing to do after a loss is to just accept it and not whine and make excuses and attack one's opponents as dirty schemers. "You don't pout, you don't whine, you don't claim that the election was stolen ... you don't manufacture some excuse," Cassidy said. "You thank the voters for the privilege of representing the state or the country for as long as you've had that privilege. And that's what I'm doing right now."Okay I get it, you are better than Trump. Awesome. But then Cassidy immediately... bitches and whines and claims that Trump is a schemer who unconstitutionally used "the levers of power" to defeat a political opponent. "Let me just set the record straight: Our country is not about one individual. It is about the welfare of all Americans and it is about our Constitution," Cassidy said. "And if someone doesn't understand that and attempts to control others through using the levers of power, they're about serving themselves. They're not about serving us. And that person is not qualified to be a leader."Which is what politics is, defeating political opponents. Isn't it, Bill? You sure thought so when you attempted to boot Trump out of the White House. He's a loser and always has been and I hope his defeat sends a message to the other arrogant, egotistical Fussy losers. ...Cassidy refused to answer questions about whether he'd vote again to convict, now knowing that the entire impeachment case as an op and a frame-up. He's just too egotistical (unwarrantedly so) to ever admit error. He dodges those question by saying he doesn't want to talk about the past, only the future, in a line cribbed from noted moral stateswoman Hillary Clinton. Trump wasn't buying it. And he's now saying: ON TO MASSIE! Cassidy, who pats himself on the back for not whining and making excuses, whined some more and made some more excuses by complaining about people "attacking me on the internet," which is totally the sort of thing that a forward-thinking future-focused statesman should spend his nights obsessing over. Bill Cassidy's wife's dance card is going to be so filled this weekend you guys. Don't imagine that Bill Cassidy is some kind of rock-ribbed True Conservative who only voted to convict Trump because Sacred Honor Compelled Him and He Could Not Do Otherwise. He's a filthy liberal RINO like the rest of the grifter losers: Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) on Saturday expressed concern about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) reputation following another fatal shooting in Minnesota. "The events in Minneapolis are incredibly disturbing. The credibility of ICE and DHS are at stake. There must be a full joint federal and state investigation. We can trust the American people with the truth," Cassidy said Saturday in a post on the social platform X.He has thwarted the MAHA agenda, insisting that every single one of the 70 vaccines a kid gets in the first months of his life are all 100% necessary and that any questioning of this Religious Command from the Gods of The Science (TM) is blasphemy. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his followers scored a big win Saturday when Kennedy's nemesis, Sen. Bill Cassidy, went down in his Louisiana primary. The cherry on top for Kennedy and his Make America Healthy Again movement would be if another Republican doctor in the Senate, Kansas' Roger Marshall, replaces Cassidy next year as chair of the Health Committee. Marshall, unlike Cassidy, is a big Kennedy fan, having founded a MAHA caucus to promote Kennedy's push to combat chronic disease. Whereas Cassidy in confirmation hearings last year grilled Kennedy on his longstanding skepticism of vaccines and has given him a hard time about vaccine policy ever since, Marshall asked God to bless Kennedy and said he'd "never seen a person whose words, written and spoken, have been so misattributed, exaggerated, sensationalized and taken out of context." Three people familiar with Marshall's plans, granted anonymity to discuss his thinking before Cassidy lost his primary, told POLITICO he's been angling for the Health Committee chair for months. An OB/GYN before he got into politics, Marshall has criticized vaccine mandates and supported nutrition-forward health reforms, including a focus on chronic disease prevention. At a Senate Finance Committee hearing in September, Marshall endorsed Kennedy's view that the hepatitis B vaccine is given to babies who don't need it because their mothers don't have the disease. "It makes no sense to me. I've only delivered five thousand babies, but we do a hepatitis test on every mom," he said.

My favorite part about the Romney tweet is the arrogant gall betrayed by it.
"exceptionally brilliant and creative mind, an MD who chairs healthcare, and a person of character. " Which part of that covers the only job description that matters? That is, "represent the will of your constituents." 5 years the votes had to sit and stew for their chance to repay that "exceptionally brilliant and creative mind, an MD who chairs healthcare, and a person of character" for his betrayal. We think we've done the thinking, and we elect these no-talent, no-accomplishment Student Council Vice Treasurers and Disappointed Theater Kids to heed our thinking and merely do our voting in legislative bodies for us.
There is wiggle room here. If all we wanted was mob rule, we'd use a computer to tally the votes of every citizen. In a Republic, the representatives of the people are supposed to engage their brains, and sometimes, yes, vote contrary to what the people say they want. That takes courage, and a willingness to lose one's seat over a matter of high principle. That isn't what we're talking about here, though. Posted by: Smell the Glove ====== The elites like Cassidy or Romney thought they had it rigged to die in office if they liked. That is why they hate populism. It means that their words and actions are accountable to the masses and that is intolerable to these pseudo aristocrats. The Democrat elites have largely folded to their leftist DSA activists but the GOPe types defy their base party voters all the time. That is why they have to go and the filibuster be broken, preferably by the GOP while it still has a chance of governing. The Boston concert is in six days.
Bruce Springsteen's Boston tickets are not selling out likely due to outrage over his high ticket prices, which can reach up to $3,000, making them unaffordable for many fans. Additionally, his political messaging and the perception of catering to wealthier audiences may have alienated some of his traditional fanbase. Too bad he didn't lose the primary before the last war powers act vote. But he didn't want to upset the Republican party, presumably to keep his job. Now he doesn't have a job and we have anti-vaccine quackery. The worst of both worlds for him and us. Is there any chance this guy will start voting against Trump? Him and Cornyn both may be left out in the cold, but they still won't oppose all this. It's unreal to watch. per the NYT, this is a simple case of him being punished for crossing the invincible and triumphant Trump. Given Springsteens intelligence and proclivities, I suspect they cant be lowered, not without losing money on every ticket and having to make it up in volume. As The ARC of History! wrote, concerts are no longer self-serving marketing events for other products. Add to that that Springsteen is a dinosaur probably still spending money and hiring hangers-on like it was the Jurassic Seventies, and theres not a lot of room to drop prices. Actually, the music of rebellious yoof being performed by 80-year-old relics strikes me as more than a little ludicrous. Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh ======== There is a market for nostalgia --in Vegas as a resident. Lots of these old farts are finding that fewer and fewer people actually want to buy a ticket to revisit their youth at nosebleed prices. These dinosaurs hang on in part because as Rick Beato points out, new bands simply are not being created anymore due to economics. It is all a singer with backing tracks and that singer is autotuned and pitch corrected to within an inch of their actual voice. And now AI is making it even more fake and gay than having some meat puppet on stage miming while the 'band' pretends to play. Even in 'live' shows now as Fil from Wings of Pegasus has demonstrated. Milli Vanilli has become the norm even for the dinosaurs. If you want that, you can simply watch old music videos on Youtube. Even smaller acts in smaller towns start at around $50 per person now.
I suspect something similar going on here: people used to go to bars to see a band and get drunk. Local bands were loss leaders for drinking. But if people are spending less at the bar (I dont know if this is true, I just suspect that it is due to the nature of modern bars) the bar needs to charge more for the band. I saw a variation on this when I went to guitar school in Los Angeles in the late eighties. Hollywood was a sellers market, basically, and bands who wanted to get into the trendy clubs had to pay to do so; they had to buy up a certain number of tickets, and then convince their fans to use those tickets. It was already very close to the point or past it where a band had to have someone with well-off parents or some other financial backing just to play local clubs. So, earlier this morning I was sitting in traffic, eating a gas station corndog, when I suddenly realized, eating a corndog in public is actually kind of embarrassing. There's absolutely no way to manly consume a corndog and I felt really self conscious about it.
I think that in the past I have mostly ingested corndogs in the privacy of my own home or together with fellow consenting corndog enjoyers. But suddenly finding myself as a lone guy downing a corndog out and about felt really awkward. When I think about it now, one thing that gives me solace is that I don't ever remember seeing anyone eating a corndog while they're driving, because I would totally remember that. "HAHA! look at the stupid mfer eating a gay corndog! HOMOOOO!", I would happily yell. But I think that the default level of tenting provided with auto windshields not only helps to protect from the harsh sun but also furnishes the driver privacy for their corndog activities. And now AI is making it even more fake and gay than having some meat puppet on stage miming while the 'band' pretends to play. Even in 'live' shows now as Fil from Wings of Pegasus has demonstrated. I haven't stepped foot in a concert hall in many years and have no intention of doing so in the future. Why drive 30 miles and pay inflated prices for parking and a ticket to a routine performance where I'm going to be shortchanged? 100 years ago, there were no good alternatives to going to a live performance. 50 years ago, the alternative (LPs) were bulky and not durable. Today, I can go online and hear for a nominal subscription price a much wider range of works than I could ever hope to hear live. Posted by: Hadrian the Seventh at May 18, 2026 12:55 PM (HdYcL) 247

Even for the big groups like the Beatles, Stones, and Who dealt with the likes of Allen Klein trying to grift every nickel he could from the bands. MCA at the time was basically in bed with the mob and did widespread bootlegging of its own artists denying them royalties, etc. by selling off the books copies of their records. 1960's and 70's was a goldmine and Wild West for groups with predatory managers ruining a lot of groups. The movie records how an Antebellum Southern Plantation was operated, with all its cruelty exposed.
Saw on Insty this morning that Croatia's song for Eurovision this year was explicitly about Muslims enslaving Eastern Europeans (the reason the word "Slavic" exists). That made it very popular with Eastern Europeans and very unpopular with the EU, Macron, and Starmer. Obama's best friend Erdogan apparently filed a formal protest. Coulter..Her defense of the sex perv is kinda ludicrous. For example, she says that he never voted against he SAVE act! Riiiiiight. He just voted for the rule that would not allow it to get a floor vote! How clever! How transparent, Ann. And the rest of her "defense" is in similar vein. It almost reads like a parody.

Most of them, not all are fixated on blaming Israel and a secret cabal of Jews for all of society's ills. That is what is driving the Epstein hate and fixation. Sort of like Dan Brown's crackpot shit about Catholics.
Ironically one thing you get out of Epstein's emails - he didn't like Israel and he didn't like observant Judaism either. 314 Ann Coulter was great when she was funny and irreverent. She did a new thing. Then around 2010 she plunged into depths of ridiculous stupidity.
Her well footnoted tomes were immensely informative about the domestic commies among other things, and Godless in particular was a fucking riot. Posted by: 18-1 ======= Epstein was a con man who screwed everyone around him is my conclusion. Never the sort you actually want in intel as an agent. I can see intel and law enforcement used him as an asset (informer or facilitator) but not as an agent because the blowback would be vast from such a guy and the risk he would try to blackmail the IC or FBI. Using him to provide information or facilitate a transaction to launder money for an IC op, I can see them doing that as the IC uses fronts all the time to limit blowback for what they do. Same as how both the IC and law enforcement use other criminals because otherwise that world is pretty insular and shut off unless you smuggle in an undercover agent at great risk. What's driving Epstein is that it's an op and being driven.
The story had a ton of potential energy and Trump was maybe gonna get close so they decided to hang the whole thing on him through a series of plants, planned lies and escapades. And *maybe* an AG pulling some otherwise very inexplicable weirdness about it. And the plan was to use that story to weight down the second term like Russia before it. Trump put a stop to a lot of it by not allowing it to bifurcate his following. But you can't stop talk shows, news, and so-called "comedy" from harping on about whatever they want. But make no mistake - Bondi's little maneuver was a nice little molotov cocktail to start the whole thing off. Whether purposeful or just through dire naivete we won't know. But I think I know. Epstein was a con man who screwed everyone around him is my conclusion. Never the sort you actually want in intel as an agent.
Agreed. I think Mike Benz is right in that the real action around him is in the classified CIA files, not the FBI files that were released. And I also think there was ultimately less going on with him then pretty much anyone suspects. He was likely cut loose after Iran-Contra and then did private grifting from there, maybe without telling people he no longer actually represented FedGov.
