The Morning Rant

punk-monkey.jpg

"America First" isn't just a tag line. It distills a very simple idea that has been lost for a very long time. In fact, it is best seen as a warning to the gaggle of politicians and pundits whose every waking hour is consumed by the notion of a new world order that supersedes the normal human condition of nationalism and patriotism.

Put simply, "America First" is the entirely unremarkable idea that the function of the American government is to protect and defend the interests of the American people, American culture and society, and the American economy.

There is no addendum or subsection that requires American blood and treasure to be spent on any other country, unless it furthers the interests of America. Our alliances must be of benefit to America, or they should be discarded. And most of all, The conduct of America should be entirely self-governed, without any subservience to outside interests. The United Nations, the World Health Organization, NATO, the EU, OPEC, and a host of other international organizations constantly seek to force American subservience to their rules and mandates. Even sovereign countries try to hold America and Americans to their laws. The UK recently beclowned itself (even more than usual) by announcing that they will prosecute Americans for violations of the UK's draconian on-line hate speech laws.

And here we have a particularly egregious violation of our sovereignty by the EU, which has a bug up its pompous, superior, elitist ass when it comes to big bad American corporations being better and more efficient than European companies.

From Brasília to Brussels: Trump Should Broaden His 301 Offensive.

Earlier this year, iRobot, the company that made the Roomba, filed for bankruptcy and was sold off to a Chinese supplier. The cause was a decision made in Brussels, three years ago, to block Amazon’s rescue offer. Thusly, an American company was regulated out of existence by a foreign bureaucracy. A Chinese competitor inherited the spoils, which is a fair summary of how the European Union’s (EU) so-called consumer protections work in the real world.

iRobot is no isolated case. The EU has built an entire regulatory architecture for precisely this purpose, with two pieces of legislation: the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the Digital Services Act (DSA), marketed as consumer protection but functioning as industrial policy directed at firms headquartered in the United States.

In fact, five of the seven companies Brussels has designated as “gatekeepers” under the DMA are American. European competitors, on the other hand, are usually spared, and Chinese firms face notably lighter compliance pressure. It’s hardly an accident.

This is a direct challenge to the sovereignty and economic leadership of America, and a nakedly partisan attempt to create through regulation what Europe is unable to do with innovation.

The EU and its mandarins are content to be overtaken by China, invaded by 3rd world Muslim hordes, and bought out by Gulf oil money. But competing with America and Americans? That is a bridge too far.

Europe is probably too far gone, but the Western Hemisphere is not, and an American-led regulatory structure that rewards innovation and hard work, and allows market forces to operate, will create the foundation for the economies on our side of the oceans to dominate.

The triad of Marco Rubio at State, Howard Lutnick at Commerce, and Scott Bessent at Treasury, understands this very well, and they should expand their pressure on our hemispheric partners to change the paradigm of the zero-sum economic game that the EU insists upon playing.

So I guess Brussels can sleep better, regulate American businesses, and no one will do much to stop them.

I would like to think this, but I don't think we have seen the level of groveling they are willing to do. They are complacent to allow an immigrant hoard to walk in and rape their women. Have I got a deal for you!

There is a sports bar in Portland called "The Sports Bra", which shows only women's sports. It's been around since 2022.

It has received millions of dollars of free publicity, and they are doing crowdfunding to take the concept nationwide - to thirty other cities!

This is your big chance to cash in - just $250 is enough to buy a piece of the Sports Bra!

If you actually read the financial statement that comes with the crowdfunding proposal, you discover that:

1) The Sports Bra has never made money.

2) As the novelty has worn off, The Sports Bra has been losing increasing amounts of money over time.

No matter - this is your big chance to get in on the ground floor!

It's like investing in Amazon in 1999!

87 Europe is probably too far gone, but the Western Hemisphere is not, and an American-led regulatory structure that rewards innovation and hard work, and allows market forces to operate, will create the foundation for the economies on our side of the oceans to dominate.
-------

Europe is too far gone. If you've worked with Europeans in the last 20 years you know that they have adapted a culture of utter laziness and entitlement. That culture has been enabled by the largesse and kind heart of the United States of America that has shielded them from danger since WWII and allowed them to spend their time and money on gaywad "cultural" pursuits and not the creation of anything that is actually valuable to commerce.

Forget Canada.

Saving LATAM might be possible. There are some green shoots with non-communists getting elected in a couple of countries and we should be doing everything we can to bolster those governments and show them that capitalism is the way forward, not the bone-lazy socialist bullshit that a LOT of that region has grown to know and love.

The building is being built to withstand missile and drone attacks, with several floors underground that will serve as a defense system for the President and cabinet members. The ballroom that sits atop the underground network will be paid by President Trump and donors; the government funding is for the military defense complex that will sit underground approximately six stories down. This is a remarkable explanation by President Trump.

It is breathtaking — sculpted, almost — with a curve along the waist that serves no functional purpose but makes you want to weep. The base is slightly uneven. Gianni explains this is intentional. Quibbling on the difference in price and value.
A home may maintain its value while the overall price of homes may decrease or increase.

As it is now, we are in a false market driven by entities such as Blackrock buying homes by the tranche then artificially driving up the price coupled with Knum Knutz Powell driving up the interest rate.

This gets straightened out the price of homes will decrease, however, their value may be retained.

Interest rates are the price of buying money, just like the cost of buying a car on installment plans.
The difference is that if the government decided to force the price of cars extremely low "to make sure everyone had transportation to improve the economy" then eventually we would run out of cars available to buy - and when it is interest rates forced low, the Fed and the Treasury can just "print" more money
