Repost for the evening crowd.
In important news (Little League baseball): Little had a 2 run in-the-park homer last night (properly scored, no errors contributing), pitched two innings (one of which was K-K-U1, the other of which was 3K), gave up one hit, and one run on a passed ball, despite a close tag attempt at the plate, to close 16-7 in 5. I think my ancient HP laptop is coming to its end. I bought it over a decade ago, back when they came with DVD players built in. It's has a 17in screen and it had Win 8 on it. I added Win10, now it has Linux Mint 23.3. The fan has been making 'I'M DYING' noises for a while. Lately it boots to a black screen, then to the boot screen. I just turn it off, turn it on, and eventually, it boots to my Home Screen. At some point, it will just die. At that point, I take the hard drive out, and toss it in the garbage. I did ok with this old laptop. It's easily 10-12 years old and I used it A LOT. I have 2 other laptops and a mini pc.

For any skywatchers here, look to the western horizon after sunset, and you'll see Venus below Jupiter. Each night it will rise higher and higher for a conjunction June 9th. On the morning side, Mars has finally whipped around the sun far enough for us up here in the US to see it right before sunrise (it was visible well before down in the southern hemisphere). Saturn became visible a while back, and now Mars has joined the morning show. The think waning crescent Moon will be right in between them this morning. That's why they became such a popular breed for families. Probably why a lot of them do turn into indoor dogs. They love their people and are great with kids. But that's just a happy coincidence. She uses her opportunities to subvert leftist indoctrination of her students and tries to teach them discernment. She gets away with this a bit more because there's a huge shortage in her specialty and if the school doesn't keep her happy, it's a serious loss for them. I have another friend at a small-town school who was bemoaning the difficulty of finding teachers who weren't leftoids. She has a role in the hiring process. They get a lot of applicants from KU and it sounds like KU's education program is nutso. My point being -- there are teachers out there trying to cultivate good citizens.
