Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Washington Post: 42% of Democrats Think the Butler PA Assassination Attempt that Killed One Man Was "Staged"Gee it's funny, I remember Jake Tapper devoting his show to rebutting "conspiracy theories" for years. And now he's silent as a dummy. I wonder why.The Washington PostYeah I don't believe 1 in 8 Republicans said that. A lot of Democrats know how crazy they sound and are claiming to be "Republicans" who believe Trump had one of his supporters murdered as a sympathy play. Full article: I remember when it was revealed that "Palestinian" leader Mahmoud Abbas was a Holocaust denier. His defenders said -- and this is probably accurate -- Holocaust denial brands a "moderate." Because the harder-core don't deny the Holocaust -- they celebrate it. Similarly, it's the "moderate" Democrats who claim the many assassination attempts on Trump by their political allies were "staged." The harder Democrat position is that the assassins were just bad shots, and they need to recruit better ones. I mean, literally thousands of accounts on TikTok say exactly that. About 1 in 4 Americans think the April shooting at the White House correspondents' dinner was staged, with a marked partisan divide, according to a survey published Monday. Roughly 1 in 3 Democratic respondents said they believed the event was staged, compared with about 1 in 8 Republicans, according to a survey published Monday by NewsGuard, a company that rates the reliability of online news outlets. Respondents between the ages of 18 and 29 were also more likely than older people to think the incident was staged, according to the report.Fake Jake, you want to get in on this or are you all good? Last week, a federal grand jury in D.C. indicted the alleged gunman, charging Cole Tomas Allen with four felonies, including the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump. Soon after the incident that led to his arrest at the Washington Hilton, conspiracy theories began to spread online that falsely claim the Trump administration staged the incident in an effort to manufacture support for the president, the Republican Party and his planned White House ballroom. The NewsGuard survey found that 24 percent of U.S. adults believe the incident at the Washington Hilton was fake, compared with 45 percent who believed it was legitimate. An additional 32 percent said they were unsure. The survey of 1,000 American adults was conducted by YouGov from April 28 to May 4. "It's very striking," said Sofia Rubinson, an editor at NewsGuard. The results underscore broader skepticism that Americans feel toward the government and the press, she said. "Increasingly, people on all sides of the political spectrum are distrustful of both this administration and also the media," she said, but willing to trust unverified information they see online. The White House rejected the conspiracy theories in a statement provided after publication. "Anyone who thinks President Trump staged his own assassination attempts is a complete moron," spokesman Davis Ingle said. Joan Donovan, a Boston University professor who researches media manipulation, said the results are an indicator of the role of showmanship in Trump's presidency. "It just seems incredibly Hollywood to imagine that this is staged," Donovan said of the correspondents' dinner shooting. "The entire apparatus of the government has been turned into a reality TV show."Oh I get it, the psychotic breakdown of Democrats is Trump's fault. Of course. Of course. This is the "expert" the Post called to get context for the left's psychotic break with reality. There were no other experts available.

Sounds right to me. Biden's FBI didn't want to leave any evidence that might trace back to one of their buddies. We said it here on the blog a lot. I think the problem is that it smells like a conspiracy, the way that all the evidence got dug up, the body got cremated without notice, and no evidence that there was a follow up investigation of the incident--and this has happened a number of time.
The entire media for the last 20 year loves to point out how much coverage and investigative power the Feds and local police have, there are television series about it, and then "no one knows nuthin" So the maybe the question should be whose conspiracy was it. The reason the left think all the assassination attempts on Trump are staged is because they constantly stage fake things, so presume that's the normal way of doing things.
2020 elections -- staged Every public opinion ppll taken from the 1960s to the present -- staged All the data purported "supporting" Anthropogenic Global Warming -- staged All the accusations against Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, etc. etc. etc. -- staged Fake protests arranged by the SPLC -- staged. Every so-called "hate crime" of the last 20 years -- staged. And on and on and on. That's all they do. So yeah, of course it's natural that they think things are staged. They live in a completely corrupt politcal hemisphere. Posted by: zombie at May 11, 2026 04:56 PM (Av6i5) 82

Speaking of AI videos, I noticed something recently. When AI videos started coming out a couple of years ago, all the hip kids made fun of the boomers who couldn't spot the fakes. Now that AI videos are getting really good, the hip kids are falling for the videos even harder than the boomers did. I was chatting with him yesterday and he told me he's been on a liver cleanse. I'm already extremely suspicious of cleanses, but I'm holding my tongue. He says phase I just ended, and now he's on to phase II. Phase II involves ingesting Turpentine. Alright, tongue holding time over. I look at him quizically and ask him, "Turpentine?" "Yes," he says. I immediately get on google and am looking for Turpentine toxicity concentration and other similar information. He assures me he's going to only take half a tablespoon per day and it's "pure" Turpentine, distilled from pine resin. I tell him a fatal dose is somewhere around 8 to 12 tablespoons. I see it's a gastrointestinal irritant, a CNS depressant, and can cause pneumonitis if aspirated. I tell him this. He tells me he trusts Dr Andrew Kaufmann. I ask him if he's sure he's not being pranked. Andy Kaufmann? Really? Like the comedian? He says no. I look this guy up. Apparently he's a real MD, but I'm skeptical. My work had a snap meeting this morning to tell us nothing much. We have been under a contract for NOAA for data processing and that will most likely end in June of 2027. I guess our managers and other agencies that understand that we do great work and the in house group NOAA will use in our place, has not demonstrated they can do it as well talked them into that versus the original "we will switch at the end of August" plan.
I hate these very little news meetings. I suppose folks get wind of rumors that are worse than the facts and management needs to present the facts in response. But I don't grok why they can't just send an email. Posted by: PaleRider at May 11, 2026 05:07 PM (PV+Zw) 126

The father of the Moon landing conspiracy was a character named Bill Kaysing. He self-published a little book back in 1976 claiming it was all fake. He got some currency because he was a former employee of Rocketdyne. However, he wasn't an engineer, or rocket scientist, etc, just a technical writer, and wove quite a tale of how they faked it. And that story changed over the years. Now, the flat-earthers and other lunatics picked up on that, but they are just flat-out insane. Kaysing and the others that followed aren't loons like that, just think we didn't and still don't have the technical ability to actually get the Moon. Exactly and the more you look at these events, the weirder they get. Throw in Russia being caught helping organize fake assassination attempts to prop up candidates popularity in Turkey and the whole thing because super suspicious to even the most conspiracy averse citizens. I still think that one is as simple as he cut his ear on the Secret Service agent's holstered gun as he was being pushed down, and they tried to play it off as being grazed by the bullet. 68% of American people believe Gilligan's Island was a documentary.
Posted by: dantesed at May 11, 2026 04:59 PM I can prove Gilligan's Island was staged. The Minnow was a 1964 Wheeler, measuring 38'6" It had two Detroit Deisel engines @ 230 hp each. Maximum speed was 14 knots, with a cruising speed of 12 knots. At 12 knots, and assuming a three hour cruise out-and-back, it could travel 18 nautical miles, which translates to 20.72 miles away from the dock. They would not have been castaways very long. I guess all of that will be special effects filmed in a studio, too. Posted by: SpeakingOf at May 11, 2026 04:53 PM (6ydKt) No need to wonder; some already say (paraphrased), "Well, maybe some of them were real, but Apollo 11 was fake, to make sure we got the Cold War propaganda victory of getting there first, because we thought the Soviet Union was breathing down our necks. You can't trust TPTB on anything; they'll always have a justification for lying to you, and will double down and never admit it." It used to be that there was no apparent purpose but to demoralize Americans and remove a huge accomplishment and source of national pride, but not any longer. With the 'plandemic', we can see the ones that were actually radically skeptical of authority; they avoided the "clot shot," and were proven correct in their summary conclusion (if not their specific reasoning). Others turned out to have just been edgy or anti-American, didn't really mean it (to their detriment), and fell for the psyop. Posted by: SciVo at May 11, 2026 05:24 PM (Sy6m/) 179

Part of the inheritance from the insane purity spirals of the Puritans. Only their religion has morphed into worshipping the Frankfurt school's rotten fruits instead of anything to do with Christianity.
Essentially they have the forms of radical sects but there is no Christ in them. Yeah, that can explain the Professor living it up, just like you can explain how the 2 groups the Scooby gang split up into was Fred and Daphne, and the dog and Shaggy and Velma seemed to do a lot more clue finding.
Velma you Scooby and Shaggy explore the creepy basement, Daphne and I are going to explore the master bed room with hot tub and ceiling mirror. And if you hear a loud moaning sounds that sort of sounds like Daphne its a super scary ghost and you should NOT come upstairs. Posted by: Fred at May 11, 2026 05:38 PM (sKqQm) 240

Posted by: ballistic ====== See what I mean, such is not for the likes of the peasantry like me. Fortunately, Mediterrean and French cooking does not require such expensive food. Chicken Marsala with roasted Yukon Gold potatoes is on the menu tonight. Total cost about $12 bucks for the meal and that includes leftovers to reheat for tomorrow. The amazing thing is how much money was spent to get the Moon back in the '60s. In current 2025 dollars, NASA's budget peaked at around $67B. That doesn't sound that all that much, but it was over 4% of the federal budget at the time. In current budget terms, that would be in the ballpark of $300B per year. Several 100Ks of people were involved with the project over the decade. The truth is faking a Moon landing (accurately) would've been much harder than actually doing it. Leftism doesn't need to go back to actual religions to explain cancel culture, purity tests and purges. It's built in when asking people to believe stuff that makes no sense.
Posted by: Oldcat ===== Puritan culture cross fertilized with Marxism explains the modern left in this country. And culture persist far longer than the actual necessity that created it in the first place. See the Arab world for example stuck in raiding patterns of Bedouins. Leftist religion is based on a warped view of Christianity with Christ which is why there is no forgiveness in them nor pity or mercy. Heretics to them are disposable non people. You see the same issues in the early Puritan colonies and back in Merrie Olde England to the extent that even Cromwell had to brush back those that wanted to go full leftist for their time (Levelers). There is also why the Amish, Hutterites, and Mennonites are so peaceable, they are farming survivors where their most radical brethren were slaughter in Munster. Lutheran and Catholic princes united in Germany to stamp out those proto marxist leftists (community property and polygamy make for a weird mix). Posted by: whig at May 11, 2026 05:46 PM (E4rtv) 262

There was certainly staging in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They had to develop the uranium bomb and the more complicated plutonium bomb. They had to separate isotopes for uranium and breed plutonium in reactors. They had to develop a bomber capable of lifting the bombs and delivering them to target. They had to get the bombs to a forward base within the range of that bomber’s ability to deliver and return. The pilots, bombadiers, navigators, and other crewmen had to be trained. There were a lot of stages!
