Ravens are crows on steroids. My son told about the time he was working at old Faithful, and saw a half dozen ravens take over some dude's truck. They quickly managed to open the cooler and start feasting. The guy arrived a little later, and the ravens drove him away, and continued to eat. Ravens are scary smart, and huge.

I don't have two-thirds of the shows from 2014, where he was #1 Borzoi in Breed rankings, and none from 2015. What happened to teachers or upper class-men doing the grading? Making out the test. What to and not to emphasize.
Doesn't that mean that all the questions have to be the same? All the answers have to be the same? That's not education. Posted by: Braenyard - some Absent Friends are more equal than others _ at May 07, 2026 08:49 PM (HBgiC) 124
I'm no fan of our local school district. But I still have kids there. The fact that it affects the university systems too is bad because I will still be vested there too for at least the next 5 plus years.

FFS we have been told all these years that the oceans are heating up and we have to sacrifice to keep that from happening and then they turn around and want to put data centers in the ocean to keep them cool, thereby heating the ocean just so we can have videos of cats roller skating. It's all a f'n sham.

I've never been a huge racing fan or anything, but that Barber road course in Birmingham looks cool as hell. I think I'm going to go there next spring for the IndyCar GP.

It was a mess that kept on giving for months. I think I had to take my late mother there once during that time and everything was paperwork. I forgot what happens during this. There are supposed to be back-ups but yada, yada, yada. Not that simple. Posted by: Stateless - He ain't heavy, he's my dog. at May 07, 2026 08:56 PM (Sco7b) 128

I'm guessing that the IT security team for the company that produces the Canvas learning system is not first rate. Paying the ransom may be their only option. Posted by: Semi-Literate Thug at May 07, 2026 09:00 PM (VWtfl) 132

Posted by: Count de Monet at May 07, 2026 08:58 PM (wVcYX) The Detroit Lions made it so easy to give up football when it went woke. Down 1, down 2, down 3 - punt. Down 1, down 2, down 3 - punt. And when they were mostly mathematically eliminated by week 8 or so, it was easy to not be a die-hard football fan. I was once on a Green Bay Packers forum for months. The nicest people. I was cool too. They were amazing. I missed it, thinking it was today for some reason, but May 5th was the cross-quarter day, halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice (halfway defined in terms of the sun's ecliptic longitude). So by the so-called "solar season" definition, where the equinoxes and solstices occur at the centers of the season, summer started May 5th. Otherwise, that was "peak spring". The Enviro Left: "Cheap energy keeps the hated subject classes prosperous. We must eliminate cheap energy to weaken and enslave them." The Government Left: "Sounds great! Leave them shivering in the dark! Yeah, that's the ticket!" Tech Lord Leftists: "Nonsense. Our clankers need shitloads of cheap energy to enslave the hated subject classes, and the clankers are much more efficient than your puny human hippies." The Government Left: "STFU and STFD, you dirty hippies. You heard the money men! Time to nuke the fuck up! Get to smashing those atoms on the double!" The Enviro Left: "Understood. Let the gigawatts flow." It's always about the best way to fuck you over, in every single policy decision, every single time, no exceptions. Once you accept that cold, hard fact, America makes much more sense. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at May 07, 2026 09:09 PM (qHJne) 138
