In a release, deputies said they responded to the incident on April 24 at a Chick-fil-A along State Road 100. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim — a minor — who claimed that a customer had “exposed his genitals” to her while she was working at the drive-thru window, the release states. “The victim told deputies that she was handing the customer his food and saw his exposed genitals with a blueish-green circular object, which she believed to be a sex toy, around his penis,” the release reads.Dude, really? ----- AI is asshoe - but this is funny South Africa Cancels AI Policy After Evidence That It was Partially Written by AI Last month, South Africa’s Communications minister announced that he had decided to withdraw the country’s national AI policy after discovering that at least 6 of its 67 academic citations turned out to be AI hallucinations, mentioning journal articles that didn’t exist. “The most plausible explanation is that AI-generated citations were included without proper verification. This should not have happened,” Solly Malatsi said. “This failure is not a mere technical issue but has compromised the integrity and credibility of the draft policy.” The National Artificial Intelligence Policy sought to position South Africa as a leader in AI innovation, while attempting to address ethical, social, and economic challenges, but only managed to embarrass the South African government after media outlets discovered that a significant part of the document had been created by AI.This is actually not surprising to me. I’m reading a great book about Air Force Skyraider pilots operating in Laos in that time period. While a piston prop plane, they were excellent for SAR for downed jet drivers and staying in the air a long time, loitering over an area and dropping nape and CBUs on the bad guys communicating with facc and such. Since the USA wasn’t officially in Laos the pilots didn’t get much credit for the incredible things they did. Posted by: Common Tater at May 07, 2026 10:48 PM (VqV9I) 133

How my week has gone (so far).
On Tuesday, an hour before taking our 8mo old home, she harfed on me while we watched my dude make dinner. Then proceeded to dry heave as pitiful as anyone can imagine for a sweet baby girl. Both of us changed and then we got her home where she rested on my towel covered shoulder. Her mother arrived with the other two (son out of town, of course), and we got the dose for Zofran and 1.5ml pedialyte and she seemed to recover in minutes from how she was. Then ok on pedialyte, as she was very close to an ED visit and I don't get alarmed about a lot.I don't mess around with babies. Her grandfather and I felt off last night and achy and yuck. It returned for me this pm. DIL called tonight and was getting sick and told our son to fly home earlier than planned tomorrow. I used to coach her via phone for other viruses so this is not new.I am hoping she takes a Zofran with sips of ginger ale as I directed (DO NOT TAKE WATER IF HARFING). Other son texted that there was a death in his new wife's family and I provided help for that. I planted 3 plants in gardens. This is the sum total of my productivity this week other than making a menu but not cooking. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at May 07, 2026 11:00 PM (WONhk) 156

A rational catalog of fears and not fears, with which I have no quibbles.
Posted by: muldoon at May 07, 2026 10:55 PM (I0N4X) ******************************* If anyone quibbles with me tonight I will simply tell them to take a Zofran with ginger ale like a robot from this week. I have never taken Zofran (yet) as I rarely get to the harfing stage of any stinkin' virus. When boys were small I had 3 patients as my husband fell fast. We traded as I get every cold. I had the worst stomach virus in history in 1976 before the bicentenniel vacation in Panama City Beach which made me immune (so far). Gave it to brothers. My one bro I could hear snickering at the noises I was making in our bathroom. The next day it felled him like a tree and he apologized (rare). It was one of those where you don't know if you should sit or stand at the commode. My dear Dad was worried about me as I was never sick.Asked what was wrong and I told him (I was hallucinating) "diverticulosis" for no reason. He asked if I wanted to go to the ED and I said yais. Then I woke up better as I guess I passed out. At least he cared about me as my mother went to bed and my brother was snickering in his bedroom. I have to defend happily married couples in that my wedding ring did not change anything in our lives. I still think he's handsome and mine. All mine. If I croak first the wimmens will be after him, but he claims there will be no one else as I have exhausted him for over 4 decades.
I think my DIL will live (she has 2 kids plus baby germ maker upstairs asleep at her house) as she took a Zofran and is going to bed she texted. I am always who they call, so it's good to feel needed. We've known her since she was 17yrs old. When boys were small we gave Phenergan suppositories and they were happy to have them. I was happy to know pediatricians who would call in a Rx over the phone for me vs seeing them. Good night and keep your Zofran close if you have it. Avoid the virus. Cheers! Paul Leary, lead guitarist and occasional vocalist with Butthole Surfers, was born today in 1957. They (and he) are best known for the breakout hit "Pepper" off their seventh (!!) studio album Electriclarryland (1997), a testament to persistence. Even if you don't recognize the band or the song title, you would probably recognize its hypnotic mix of spoken-word verses, trip-hoppy chorus, and reverse-playback bridge:
Butthole Surfers - Pepper https://youtu.be/KRXty8lDUW0 Our image of a band with a hit is frozen in time, while the man goes on. In 2021, Leary released his second solo album in 30 years, and it is.. nothing like "Pepper". As you would expect, but the comparison is unavoidable. His voice is I think a baritone, for one thing, and the title track is wry folk-rock: Paul Leary - Born Stupid (Official Shimmy-Disc Video) https://youtu.be/qIEv9dZCTy4 Posted by: SciVo at May 07, 2026 11:26 PM (Sy6m/) 207

Reform UK: +163 (174) Labour: -125 (32) Conservatives: -26 (37) Liberal Democrats: +3 (49) Green: +14 (20) Other: -29 (12) Which is to say, Reform has won a majority of council seats so far, while Labour is largely wiped out. What we are seeing in the UK could happen here. Conservatives were more or less Pence and McConnell types over there--big corporate statists that dragged their feet over Brexit and refused to send the illegals home. Labour got elected because Conservatives squandered any good will running the UK for 14 years and many Tory votes went to the new Reform Party in 2024 elections. Now, you have the same thing happening on the left, the old working class Labourites are moving to Reform while the more radical and Muslims are voting Green Party or Independent Muslim. The old Lib-Dem party is treading water it appears so far.
Welsh Parliament, Labor is losing most to Reform and Cymru (native Welsh party), Scottish National Party in Scotland is benefitting from Labor's collapse and Reform is getting some love up there as well. This is what happens when a major two party system collapses--either one becomes dominant or the other new parties supplant the old ones. Posted by: whig at May 07, 2026 11:32 PM (E4rtv) 219

Last but not least showing signs of political change even in Blue California. Debate poll on LA mayoral race. From X and THAT James Woods.
" James Woods@RealJamesWoods · 12h An astonishing 88% victory by Spencer Pratt in last night’s mayoral debate. Pratt: 88% Bass: 7% Rama: 5% Will Spencer win enough votes to overcome the usual mass voter fraud by Democrats? His stunning mastery of the facts trounced the talking-point blather of the two hacks." Tonight's movie is "Drive Angry" with Nick Cage and Amber Heard. 2011. Car crashes and gun fights and gore, oh my! Halfway through and enjoying it so far.
My one regret is, it wasn't directed by Werner Herzog, so I don't think there's going to be any GatorCam or IguanaCam footage. Posted by: Idaho Spudboy at May 08, 2026 12:16 AM (L6imk) 257

Mine put me back on Atorvastatin because my lipids were too high, but it made my blood sugar go back up again. He wound up halving the statin and adding another, and that seemed to resolve things.
Atorvastatin seems to mess with gut microbiota and affect bile acid metabolism and blood glucose, and this seems to be a pretty common issue. Posted by: Kindltot at May 07, 2026 11:59 PM (rbvCR) How high did it drive up your blood sugar? They put me on atorvastatin. My A1C while using sugar as a food group was in the lower 6 range. It shot up to 6.9, and the cardiologist says hey now, you're type II, you need metformin. I said press it in your ass, I wasn't type II until you gave me this crap. Not taking that shit. Its the roller coaster these fucking doctors do. Take this..WOAH this is happening, so now you need to take this woah, now you need this... yeah not happening. And I don't think Marco ever sleeps. The "Marco runs Spirit Airlines" video was a hoot. Him lighting up a cigarette of a cigar throughout it and his complete I do not give a fook handling of the baggage were hysterical. Still and all, him mocking Chris Van Hollen and his man crush for Maryland Dad was a revelation. Verbally punch those assholes in the face! Never let up!
