5 I can't remember exactly but I think Enya is a massive introvert. Once she got wealthy from her music, she bought a mansion and lived in it alone. I think I respect that. Of course, I could be confusing Enya with some other singer. I could look it up, but I'm lazy.

18 So in medical news, I had my third shot yesterday. Got to talking to the PA about things. He wants to see me in three months to evaluate my progress and if things aren't going well then he wants to look into alternatives.

No biggie. Now here's the funny part. One of the options he brought up was trimming the damaged meniscus. I get home a few hours later and get an email from a guy that I know from the dojo talking about how that surgery is not helpful and in fact could make things worse.

I may have to look more closely at this man to see if he's AI or not.

21 Had such a lovely day yesterday. Went with FenSpouse to get his physical for riding the bus. Stopped on the way at a wonderful fudge and candy shop. There was a little decal on the back of ones of the cars ( I think one of the employees worked there) with a picture of a church and a cross on it. Such nice employees. One woman was talking to a customer about the church she attends and the customer shared that she taught CCD at her church.

Then the receptionist at the doctor's office smiled at me and waved when I went in ,even though I had never met this woman before. Her name was Carol. She told me she is 84. She looks 20 years younger and I thought being so kind and friendly kept her younger.

Before we went home we stopped at Chik- Fil-A
This may not be a big deal 😉 but we had a gift card from some of the kids parents from the bus. That Chik- Fil-A had flowers and balloons on the table.

22 AI is large language based tech. The problems are just beginning to show up. There's going to have to be another basis for achieving Terminator level intelligent artificial intelligence to wipe out human life, if they want real Sky net stuff.
That said, ditching any aspect of this damnable technology is a good thing and we'll just have to thank Ms Whatsername for helping prube the tree.
Every little bit helps.
I am a Luddite, Jacobite, Butlerian type old man who sees any machine purposely built to mimic or control human beings, as a monstrosity. I'm not a gamer either. Mental masturbation is all that stuff is.
My opinion only. Your mileage may vary. Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear. Two for one. Buy one get the other one free. Happy canned prube juice day. Aye skipper. All hands on deck and all that. Been lurking since 2003. Used to post here.

27 Evening and morning to all the far-flung satellites of the AoSHQ Empire! Thor's Day again -- only one more until Friday, the consummation devoutly to be wished.

My day: A few errands to be run today, storms threatening for the afternoon (it's already disgustingly warm and humid here), and Bogart in Tokyo Joe tonight on Movies! at seven. How about you?

28 And it's ok to tell God you're pissed as well.

It reminds me of a webcomic a few years back where the main character was dealing with his teenaged sister in law's anger at God because of her best friend committing suicide. She kept throwing questions at him until he basically said "I don't know." He used the analogy of a doctor working on a child whose too small to understand why he's being hurt by this adult.

Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at May 07, 2026 05:37 AM (iERP6)

I read an article a few months to a year ago about some guys who were trying to install generators and small data and computational setups at oil wells which flared the natural gas rather then trying to capture it. The idea was that the “free” power would offset the cost and potential latency issues from lack of scale. I haven’t seen more about it so I’m not sure it’s working.

30 Somebody texted me yesterday and said "Did I know about pastors in TN getting together to address FBI release on UFO's ? "This same person sent me a long video on exorcisms. I did not tell her I didn't watch it. I just said "Thanks". I did not get a chance to text back. There had to be some tactful way to say, "I don't really care about UFOs and I think if it's produced by the FBI it's probably ( insert rude word) to become the next big thing.

39 @37/FenelonSpoke: Never underestimate the ability of children on the bus to be downright weird.

Also if I never hear the numbers "Six Seven" spoken aloud again, I will be a happy man. Thankfully we're down to maybe one or two idjits that have to start chanting that, the rest of the kids are over it. And this no longer is an every day event. It's winding down, finally.

The story got even better. The girl basically broke down because her friend killed herself due to mental illness and she was convinced that her friend was damned because of that. The main character comforted her and explained why that was not true.

42 It's 78 F. out there, I don't wanna know the heat index, with about 10 mph winds. Not ideal workout conditions, but I do need to get in some exercise today and tomorrow. Dagny and Stirling, the furry thugs, are doing well on their new meal schedule, so they have most of an hour before breakfast. I can feed 'em when I get back.

If it's really raining this p.m., there are some good "noir" type films on Movies! that I can settle in with.

45 I would like to ask prayers for my son, K. He's getting used to his second week on the job. He's has long commutes to people's home so earlier this week he had a 12 hour day. He also has an unfortunate habit of comparing himself to others. "Everyone I graduated hs with is further along in their careers." I asked him how many people he graduated with. He said 400. I asked him "And you know all these people?. "Nobody is you. You're making money. You're providing a service. Work hard. Do a good job and realize that nobody else is you or has had your experiences."
