Man Gets Deported from Russia for Reviewing a Leather Skirt Online

In the Russian Federation, the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned, so any sort of association or promotion can have serious legal consequences. A young migrant from Uzbekistan found this out the hard way after reviewing a women’s leather skirt on the Wildberries online marketplace.

In September 2025, the young man, known only as Islomjon, left a written review for a women’s leather skirt, along with a photo of himself wearing the garment. In the review, he wrote: “Great skirt! It conceals not only my figure flaws but even the fact that I’m a guy.”

The photo of Islomjon wearing a skirt did not, in fact, conceal his gender and was most likely posted as a joke, but Russian authorities did not find it very funny. Despite deleting his review and accompanying photo, the young migrant was apprehended and charged with “propaganda of non-traditional sexual preferences by disseminating (posting) information aimed at fostering non-traditional sexual attitudes and the attractiveness of non-traditional sexual relations.”

The offender reportedly admitted his guilt in court, but asked only to be fined for his mistake, and not deported, according to Russian law. Unfortunately for him, a court of law found no mitigating circumstances, and last month, he was sentenced to five days of administrative arrest, after which he was forcibly deported from the Russian Federation.

I'm not saying we should consider deporting people because of what they say or post online. But I'm also not NOT saying it.

Thermos Bottle Design Flaw Causes “Permanent Vision Loss” in at Least Three People

Of all the risks associated with using insulated food and beverage containers, permanent vision loss would probably rank pretty low on most people’s list, but according to a series of consumer reports, it’s a real possibility. At least 27 people have filed complaints claiming to have suffered laceration injuries when the caps violently ejected from the containers upon opening them.

Several models from Thermos’ Stainless King Food Jar and Sportsman Beverage Bottle lines reportedly feature a design flaw that can have dramatic consequences for users. The danger stems from the stoppers designed to prevent leaks and retain heat. If perishable food or beverages are stored for an extended period, pressure builds up and can cause the cap to violently eject when the container is opened.

Unlike other insulated containers, these faulty models don’t have a pressure release valve, which can cause the stoppers to pop out at high velocity, hitting and injuring users. Of the 27 complaints from people claiming to have suffered lacerations as a result of using Thermos containers, three have reported “permanent vision loss”.

Maryland's last Republican member of Congress, Andy Harris speaks about the Key Bridge debacle

(I like to intentionally mispronounce that word as DEB-a-clee)

Congressman Harris: Key Bridge price may have topped $9B; state searches for new builder

State and federal officials made a joint announcement last week that the current contract with Kiewit would not move forward to finish the Key Bridge rebuild, citing concerns with the timeline and cost. U.S. Rep. Andy Harris said he heard the number for the Kiewit-built Key Bridge may have been between $8 and $9 billion.

***

“That is going to show just gross mismanagement,” he said during the radio interview.

Pointing to rising material costs, Harris also said Maryland’s minority business program for contractors may have played a role in the rising cost, but he also cited union agreements.

“The state chose a project labor agreement which can increase the cost from 20-25%,” Harris added.

State leaders announced in November 2025 the latest estimate for the Key Bridge rebuild effort would cost between $4.3 billion and $5.2 billion, with a target completion date of the end of 2030. That estimate came after the original price tag was set at around $2 billion.

After announcing the news to move away from Kiewit, state leaders have yet to provide many details about why the decision was specifically made.

“If the cost overrun was so great, let’s talk about it,” Harris said. “There’s a feeling in Congress that this was bait and switch.”

Check out the whole thing.

I live in Andy's district. For now. There is, of course, a redistricting plan underway in Maryland. Most of the red areas in Maryland (yes, there are red areas in MD -- lots of them) have already been Gerrymandered into blue districts. Have I mentioned lately that I can't wait to move out of MD?

The Democrat controlled state promptly did everything it could to derail his term, and then after he was defeated for re-election, enacted everything he had run on. I left the state and swore to never return. I have to drive through it occasionally, but I do not stop. As with most of the country, Western MD red. Eastern Shore, red. Baltimore-Washington corridor, blue. A pox upon them all.

The Key Bridge was the only harbor crossing that allowed hazmat. There are already 2 tunnels for the inner harbor crossing - neither allow hazmat (including propane tanks). A new bridge is definitely needed.

They could have at least started some kind of ferry service for the outer harbor crossing.

In the '80s, both Anheuser-Busch and Miller started Hispanic Marketing divisions in an attempt to capture America's growing Latino consumer base and sponsored Cinco de Mayo parties to promote their products.

Then, in 1989, the Gambrinus Group, American importers of Corona and Modelo, ran a Cinco de Mayo ad campaign. It proved to be a huge success, cementing a link between Cinco de Mayo and Corona beer that persists to this day.

171 In the Halls of the Thermos King was one of the lesser known Edvard Grieg pieces. Critically and financially a disaster for the young composer, it is notable as it did supply some of the better themes re-used in later, more successful orchestral works.

This suite was cordially infamous for the single movement which is known colloquially as the "My Eye, My F___ Eye" piece, due more for the lyrics than the music, showing that many elements go into a memorable fragment of an otherwise unremarkable composition by seizing onto popular imagination. As the text was in Swedish, the notoriety of the piece was limited to Scandinavia, and its notoriety was spread only as far as its opprobrium was understood.

Trump for all his Trumpness is the branding king. He rebranded two parties.

There are probably reasons why these things happened. The GOP has always been an old boys club in recent memory and not really friendly to outsiders. The GOP was given a chance to run things starting in the 90's and quite frankly they blew it. From a revolutionary start in 1994, they ran a tired old Bob Dole because it was his time in 1996. Then went all in the Bush revival in 2000 forgetting that GHWB's betrayal of Reaganism in his sole term.

GWB's term in office was one where he purposefully betrayed his base voters in order to butter up Dems and let Congress blow out the door with wasteful spending. That set the stage for Obama.

179 The Key Bridge was the only harbor crossing that allowed hazmat. There are already 2 tunnels for the inner harbor crossing - neither allow hazmat (including propane tanks). A new bridge is definitely needed.

They could have at least started some kind of ferry service for the outer harbor crossing.
Posted by: Doof at May 05, 2026 10:49 PM (QMAsf)

You could move hazmat through a tunnel. Just have scheduled "hazmat transit periods", say 8 times a day, a half hour each. Convoy of hazmat rigs pass through, at a sedate 25 mph, then an inspector follows through, looking for spills, and finding none, opens the tunnel again.

That second term was just giving away the store. The whole GOP rolled out the red carpet for Dems and freakin Pelosi to take over, then Bush signed off on half their agenda at least and THEN he and GOP took the blame for the inevitable crash that came after the D's started burning it all down. I think that Obama had the big rig in 2012 to win over Romney and Romney was too gutless to call him in on it. This cheat machine has been running since 2007-2008 with the HAVA act hitting full force. For whatever reason, probably because Killary thought she had it in the bag, they did not turn it on for her and Trump won by going to states that she ignored as not befitting a queen of her stature.

The key for GOP wins was to ramp up turnout enough from the average non voter to win which contradicts everything GOPe based its campaigns on-low turnout and negative ads. You can't beat a cheat machine with low turnout--you have to ramp it to eleventy and that means doing what the base voters want, not the donor corporate class of GOPe.

Dumond always claimed the Clintons were behind it and later Gov. Mike Huckabee freed the pos. Dumond then raped and murdered a woman in Missouri showing he should have rotted in jail in the first place.

Killed any ability for Huckabee to run for prezzie 2012 which I think he planned to do.

The thing about branding and in particular Trump's is once seen it can't be unseen. Think "that face" for Carly - done. Retard for Walz - done. And look at what he did to the Obama's a few months ago. And he let the media amplify the message for him. They are STILL busy countering it. Why? Because somewhere someone realizes that's exactly what he did. The Obama's are extremely important for their general messaging and mindfuckening.

Newsom's post about "missing an intelligent president" - and everyone made it viral by saying well he ignored Biden - that was the point - it was to get Obama and Intelligent back in the discourse... seen and clocked by the masses.

It was a direct counter from the DNC to the damage Trump did to BOTH Obama's. So was putting Malia out there recently. Because Trump's branding video could not be unseen and by the time they realized it it was too late. And we *need* that shit because Lord knows they have been doing it to us for half a century or more.

WTHR INDIANAPOLIS — President Donald Trump targeted seven Indiana state senators who defied months of White House pressure by voting against mid-decade redistricting, which the president wanted to boost Republicans' chances in the midterm elections.

Tuesday night, five of those senators lost in their primary elections.

Indiana House Rep. Ed DeLaney (D) told 13News, "It is concerning. It does prove that if you spend 9 or 10 million dollars of out-of-state money, you can affect some elections. So far, the haters are doing well. It's the problem of primary voting, only those who feel most committed to their party and feel the strongest, in this case, the most angry turnout"

Spanish can be tortured to do odd things as well, but it depends on homologues and edge cases.

Enfocarse means "to focus oneself" and Enfocar is a verb, "to focus"
but "Foca" means "seal" and adding an -ar ending makes it look like a verb, and this is verbing.
So Enforcarse can mean also, if you hold your nose and don't care about proprieties, "To turn oneself into a seal"

"Any noun can be verbed."

The fun in German (and Japanese, and any other similar languages) is making new words by gluing together the existing ones. Which is what they do for most of their vocabulary, anyway.

254 Dumond's life of violent crime began on August 8, 1972, DuMond was charged with murder in Lawton, Oklahoma. He committed the crime with help from two other men. On October 19, 1973, DuMond was charged with molesting a teenage girl in the parking lot of a shopping center in Tacoma, Washington. The second-degree assault charge resulted in a five-year deferred sentence and mandatory drug counseling during the five-year probation. On September 28, 1976, DuMond was charged with raping a woman in DeWitt, Arkansas. The charges were dropped before trial with the condition he undergo counseling.

DuMond received his second sexual assault conviction from a rape perpetrated in Forrest City, Arkansas in 1984. The victim, Ashley Stevens, was a 17-year-old cheerleader and a third cousin of then-Governor Bill Clinton.

He was castrated with his balls in a jar kept by the Sheriff in 1985 and sent to the state pen. Freed by Huckabee in 1999, he moved to Missouri where he raped and killed another woman. On June 22, 2001, DuMond was arrested and charged with the September 20, 2000, rape and murder of Carol Sue Shields of Parkville and raped/killed another woman for which he was about to be charged.

They left a lot of messes behind them including Fahmy Malek, a state coroner who was so lousy at his job, he claimed that two yutes smoke so much dope that they went to sleep on the railroad tracks among his other awful pronouncements on curious deaths in Arkansas.

Supposedly something similar about Pence but people from Indiana would know that better than I. I also think that is why Mark Sanford purposefully sabotaged his own possible run for the White House with his Argentinian floozy. He didn't want to run for it I think. You really have to have fire in the belly to do it as it is miserable work. Carter ran for two years after leaving GA governor's job and appeared at every little place, set up living in Iowa for a time, etc.

Hard enough to run statewide, very hard work to run across the country and most of the people running campaigns are scumbags that want power and money out of the gig.

If not the Bushes, probably someone like Karl Rove who really deserved GWB's nickname for him as Turdblossom. Rove was trying to get Missouri to pass that awful ranked choice voter because Missouri was no longer a swing state.

They got ranked choice voting done in Alaska to protect worthless Murcow after Joe Miller knocked her off in the primary and she won (illegally according to law) as a write in independent with Mitch funding her.

All to protect those awful GOPe grifting machines--the Danforths in MO, the Bushes in TX, and the GOPe Murkowski Stevens machine in AK.

He has some interviews out there, mainly in UK, but a few here as he has toured the US extensively since the late 60's. But interestingly enough, he noted he purposefully did not follow blues guitarists unlike the rest of his Brit compatriots in the 60's. He got his influences from jazz, classical music, and Celtic folk songs.

He can play fast or slow and mixes it up during live shows. A lot of which are on Youtube now including those with his ex wife Linda Thompson.

321 And Fairport Convention is famous in UK, Sandy Denny was part of that bunch until she got fired by being a bit out there. Nick Drake was kind of an orbiter but his weirdness never really made him someone to work with in a band.

Thompson left the band himself because he had a bandmate that got into speed and Thompson got sick of trying to play with the guy at concerts.

Massive discography of all sorts of songs over the years. Which in part led to his song, Guitar Heroes where he quite adequately demonstrates where he got certain techniques from including the Shadows.

Playboy once wrote him (as part of a story they planned to do), of naming the most important songs over the last 1000 years. Thompson ended up with an album and concert tour with songs dating back 1000 years as well as more modern songs he worked into the act.

Guy was already an encyclopedia of old folk music songs in UK so it wasn't a hard lift for him.

If you heard his guitar soloes when he cuts loose, you would think they are metal at times. And he can play a mean acoustic guitar as well.

For what it is worth, some of the old Brit metal bands actually incorporate older Celtic melodies that the folk singers used into their work.

They were all in a small island touring around the clubs in the UK at a time where musicians kept stumbling into each other, particularly in London in those years in pubs after gigs or watching others play gigs.

E.g. a young Phil Collins tells of heading to a pub just about legal age or slightly under and Keith Moon was pulling the taps having a great old time as bartender until time was called. Pete Townshend was an early pub attendee at the UFO club and got to be good friends with David Gilmour--later putting him on the album. The Rolling Stones, Faces, Kinks, and the Who all knew each other as London based groups as well.

And while Keith Moon and John Entwistle were mad at Roger Daltrey at the time, they were hanging with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. They hit him up about their idea for a new band and Moon told them it would go over like a Lead Zeppelin.

Several fake photos of me are circulating these days, generated with artificial intelligence and passed off as real by some diligent opponent.

I have to acknowledge that whoever made them, at least in the case attached, also improved me quite a bit. But the fact remains that, in order to attack and invent falsehoods, anything is really used now.

The point, however, also goes beyond me. Deepfakes are a dangerous tool, because they can deceive, manipulate, and target anyone. I can defend myself. Many others do not.

For this reason, a rule should always apply: check before you believe, and believe before you share. Because today it happens to me, tomorrow it can happen to anyone

I trained in classical piano for about 10 years as a yute.

Can't play anymore due to arthritis but I've always liked a variety of music including some early metal. Classical, jazz, swing, big band, rock, some pop, and even punk/metal up to the 1980's. Digitizing all my lps reminded me of things I listened to once but forgot over the years from all sorts of musicians. Ironically I never cared much for folk back in the day but like it more as I get older.

Tinnitus in both ears, a side effect from psoriatic arthritis makes it a pain sometimes but music can even make that better for a time.

For me, the key marker is good song, good musicianship for that song, and I will give it a listen. If it is really good, then more of a listen. Third time, I might buy a copy of it.

342 Hmmm, this Richard Thompson dude. Since I got pulled into it, here's my thoughts if I had to do a technical breakdown. Guitar wise, nothing special at all difficulty wise, BUT, the dude got a great ability to make a lot of sound with doing very minimum. He plays around within the chord patterns, very minimum movements, but picks the right stuff. Thats his true magic. Like David Gilmour from pink floyd, not fast at all, not complex, but he does more with one frigging string than some guitar players do with 6. I think that Thompson dude's magic is doing stuff that sounds good, it fits, it compliments what he's doing without killing himself. It don't sound forced, or clumsy, and it flows. He could probably play endless variations of his songs and they would always sound good with the approach he has. He makes music with little effort. Thats why he sounds good. He fills the space with what matters. That is an art. Its not a technical thing, because there is very little of that. Its a soul thing that guides him.

Well, we shall see. Issue which I knew going forward with the surgery is that the implant changed the weight distribution of the back which is now putting more pressure on degenerative discs in the thoracic and lumbar. Can't get the normal steroid shots or nerve blocks until the surgeon tells me that the implant is bonding. Can't take NSAIDS because it affects that either. And insurance insists that i have steroid shots before I can get the more expensive ablation (which I had in 2021). And under weight and activity limits right now that probably will be extended depending on imaging tomorrow.

About all I can do is post here, drive a short distance to docs, fix a meal, and work on digitizing my record collection. I have about 600-700 hundred lps plus some collectors 45s to do over the next year. And also digitizing old family photos to distribute around to family while people are still living to enjoy them.

I used it to rate my hearing loss at pitches and volumes, you can adjust the volume and the htz. My thoughts were on what pitches are missing and the possibility of getting a board to alter or enhance missing or diminished areas. Didn’t take down the information on tinnitus but it referred to discovering what htz one is affected with and blocking or neutralizing it.

Per AI - Aspect Details
40 Hz - Cognitive Enhancement Improves focus and working memory
Neural Synchronization Facilitates coherent communication between brain regions
Potential Therapeutic Effects May aid in conditions like Alzheimer’s and fibromyalgia
How 40 Hz Works
Binaural Beats: Listening to slightly different tones in each ear can create a perceived 40 Hz frequency, helping the brain synchronize its activity to this rhythm.
Flow State: Engaging with 40 Hz can lead to a state where productivity and calmness coexist, enhancing overall mental performance.
In summary, E2 at 40 Hz is a frequency that significantly impacts brain function, particularly in enhancing cognitive abilities and potentially aiding in therapeutic contexts.

349 Practical Considerations
While A7 is the highest note, it is important to note that E7 is often used in compositions. This is because notes above E7 can be quite challenging to play and are not commonly found in violin sheet music.

Summary of Violin Range
Note Frequency (Hz) Octave Position
G3 196 Lowest Note
E7 2637.02 Commonly Used
A7 3520 Highest Note

Dance band drums, what is the common pitch of the ride cymbal?
I need to know the pitches in htz

18" ride: ~300–420 Hz
20" ride: ~250–360 Hz
22" ride: ~220–320 Hz

Interesting that 40htz pitch is E which, I'm told is a favorite key for guitar players.

I've had a dip in hearing as part of my psoriasis is targeting the scalp and the ear canal at times which is why docs think the tinnitus and hearing loss is related. Ironically, I used to hear with perfect pitch which is annoying to lose.

Spent a year in marching band and parents wanted me to be Glen Miller and thus a trombone. Want to make someone with perfect pitch crazy--give them a trombone to play--extremely difficult to hit the same notes identically which is bad enough on a piano, awful on open tuned instruments like a trombone.

Posted by: Braenyard
======
Not really. Have no problem with researching it. As it might help flares in psoriasis.

The tinnitus strikes worse when I am flaring from inflammation spiking. Weather changes, stress, sleep issues can all trigger it. And psoriatic arthritis likes to move around in targeting as it attacks the underlying layers of skin as the enemy of the immune system. That is what does the damage if the skin happens to be in a certain spot.

Thanks deeply for the prayers that you have given in my name. There are others here that have it far worse including cancer, amputations, severe heart issues, etc. Mine is just pain and back spasms for the most part now along with the arthritis.

My problem is that I cannot travel long distances right now and my mother is in a state requiring a long trip to see her. She is in rehab after breaking her hip in a fall at her memory care facility. Having to rely on my sister, the facility, and our hired social worker to visit my mom in care to make sure things are ok. She has vascular dementia so it is hard to check on her condition by talking with her.

Makes me feel like I am failing as a child because I cannot be there now for her. That is what is bothering me (along with the damn insurance co and hospital billing dispute over my pre approved surgery.)

Posted by: whig at May 06, 2026 01:15 AM (E4rtv)

358 Whig, I can sympathize.

How some people dread dentists is how I feel about back doctors. This comes from growing up in a sawmill town where you would commonly see some poor bastard slowly shuffling down the street, hunched over like he was off to ring the bells at Notre Dame, with people clucking about how he had gotten "back surgery."

Posted by: Idaho Spudboy at May 06, 2026 01:17 AM (hNnmQ)

359 Whig I'm sorry about those feelings. They are reasonable feelings but not entirely true.

I don't think you would judge me so harshly if it you heard that was me in the identical situation as you.

You might think less of me, OTOH, if I didn't feel bad about it so I get why you do.

He stopped eating and drinking weeks ago. No heart problems, blood work is great, no BP problems, sugar is fine. He will not listen to doctors, will not take meds, refuses treatments. I don't know what the fuck is going on in his head. He says he can't swallow, but won't let them find out why. he has a hernia, but won;t let them operate. It goes on and on. I see people fighting for every day they can get and this chucklehead is content to just waste away in bed when he has nothing that can't be treated. I don't know if its dementia or what, but he is deathly afraid of doctors. He shuts down every suggestion. He can't see good, needs new glasses, has the insurance and it won't cost him a dime. Nope, don't want to hear it. I'm baffled by it all.

This is what I'm thinking. It has to be some kind of dementia. I have zero experience with that because nobody in my family ever had it, so I have no clue about all the shit that happens. Somebody told me that late stage dementia patients lose the ability to swallow, but it has happened in early cases. I have no clue. He got some kind of mental block, a paranoia, something. When this first started happening another friend took him to the hospital. The doctor saw the hernia and says we can fix that no problem. Nope, didn't want to hear it. Another time they wanted to do an MRI. He says no I'm claustrophobic. I said dude, you know whats real claustrophobic? A fucking casket. Didn't want to hear it. He was having a hard time peeing. They gave him flomax. He took it for 2 days said it made him dizzy and stopped, so he stopped drinking. He says they could fix it but its too terrible to talk about. I have no clue. It has to be all in his head.

If they wear out you just get new ones. Kinda nice really. Well of course they are made wrong because yang poon. The bores were all off center and the screw holes weren't even accurate. Good USA made lifter blocks are $500, and these are probably $100, but they never used to be shitty like this. I think the supplier changed where he gets them from. I had the shop dude order ones that are made in japan. They are real nice, it was what he should have got in the first place, but the books don't specify where they come from. It was easy to tell with these, because they are shit. I found an old box and got the part# and we matched it up in the books. Yang poon strikes again.

Exposure to 40 Hz sensory stimulation (via light, sound, or ultrasound) restores gamma brainwave oscillations, which are typically disrupted in Alzheimer’s patients, leading to improved memory, learning, and cognitive function.

This non-invasive therapy enhances neural connectivity and synchronizes brain activity, with combined audiovisual stimulation showing superior results in reducing cognitive decline compared to single-modality treatments.

Physically, 40 Hz stimulation directly targets pathological buildups by reducing amyloid-beta (Aβ plaques and tau tangles in the brain.

It achieves this by activating microglia (brain immune cells) to clear toxic proteins and by dilating meningeal lymphatic vessels and blood vessels, which accelerates the glymphatic system’s ability to flush waste from the brain parenchyma into the cerebrospinal fluid.

How many hertz is the trumpet's high C? (big deal for trumpet players)
The trumpet's high C is approximately 1046.5 Hz.

What are the htz of the low E string on the double bass instrument?
The low E string on a double bass is tuned to 41.2 Hz. This is the fundamental frequency of the open E1 string, which is the lowest note on a standard four-string double bass.

What is the htz on a standard electric guitar?
A standard electric guitar in standard tuning has the following fundamental frequencies for its open strings:

Low E (6th string): 82.41 Hz
A (5th string): 110.00 Hz
D (4th string): 146.83 Hz
G (3rd string): 196.00 Hz
B (2nd string): 246.94 Hz
High E (1st string): 329.63 Hz

These frequencies are based on the international standard pitch of A4 = 440 Hz

Yup, yang poon. The problem is all aftermarket stuff is yang poon. Mostly the bolt on crap like fenders, oil tanks, gas tanks, headlight assemblies, tail lights, etc. Very few American companies make that, and if they do its custom looking shit, not reproductions of original stuff. You're not going to find an American company making repro gas tanks for a 1956 panhead, but Taiwan does, so you have no choice. You can find American stuff for engines and transmissions, and its all I use. Pricey, but it works. There are a few times where the yang poon stuff is ok IF its made right, and its a crap shoot.

That would drive me nuts. Harley has done that only a few times. What does piss me off is the parts books because they don't list the change accurately. Harley changed the gear tooth pitch on everything in the cam chamber in late 1977, basically mid year. The cam, pinion gear, and breather gear. They can be used as a set, but can't be miss matched. You can put a 1978 gear set in a 1971 if you use them as a set, but you can be using a mix. What do parts books say? 77-back, 78-forward. Totally wrong, a late 77 uses the 78-up set. If you didn't know this and were some schmo looking online for parts and happened to have a late 77, you can't be using what the book would call 1977-back. I constantly fight with some of these shop owners over shit like that. They order the wrong shit.
