  • Utah has decided to make it a crime to use VPNs to bypass age verification checks. (Tom's Hardware)

Since anyone can set up a VPN of their own in minutes using open source software and any of a thousand cloud service providers, and tear it down right after leaving no trace of its existence, this is stereotypical malicious idiocy.

So of course the UK and France are pushing similar legislations as fast as they can.

Bluesky and Twitter were once merged. It was called, surprisingly enough, "Twitter".

Then when the woke and statist types, would be authoritarians all, could no longer ban the unclean thinkers within Elon Musk's Twitter, they bounced to their new utopia, Bluesky.

Whereupon they formed new circular firing squads and took pot shots at the impure ones among their hitherto unsullied ranks. More just desserts could not have been found.

And you Euroweenies calling for a rejoining of matter and anti-matter, you can fuck right off. What makes you think that you are in charge?

It is pretty amusing. The initiative to fix Windows is named K2, like after the mountain because it is difficult to climb and take complete commitment to make the summit. K2's nickname is the Widowaker because it is considered the deadliest 8000 meter class mountain to climb.

And just like that behold: Widowmaker 11. Killing off credibility because we can!

38 Brussels has drawn up plans that would effectively see the operations of US-owned social media platforms — including Elon Musk’s X — forcefully merged with those of their more EU-favoured counterparts, such as BlueSky and Mastodon.

The 275-page document published on April 29 discusses the feasibility of forcing both vertical and horizontal interoperability onto all major social media applications, naming X, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as major targets.

According to the study, these platforms could be forced to platform content from their more moderation-focused rivals, as well as be legally obligated to make their recommender algorithms, news feeds, and user accounts interoperable with websites more favoured by Brussels, such as BlueSky.

The EUSSR is going to have to find out the hard way that U.S. companies are not going to be their political censors while also being their piggy banks to which they can add huge fines to the huge taxes they already collect.

At some point U.S. tech corps are going to determine the juice is not worth the squeeze and pull out completely.
