Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Lunatic Leftwing Fascists Melt Down as Florida's Assembly Speedruns the New Congressional Map Through Both HousesFlorida lawmakers have approved a new Congressional map that could position Republicans to win four additional U.S. House seats in the midterm elections in November. The 21 to 17 vote for final passage in the Senate came just hours after the U.S. Supreme Court weakened the Voting Rights Act in a decision on a Louisiana congressional district Wednesday morning. Both developments will assist President Trump's national push to help the GOP in the midterm elections. With the Florida redistricting, the GOP likely gains an advantage of two or three new seats as Republican-led states have followed Trump's call and Democratic-led states have countered it. However, control of the House will depend on the votes in November. Democrats have said the redraw in Florida makes several GOP seats more competitive, potentially leading to smaller seat gains if strong Democratic performances seen in recent special elections continue. The bill now goes for expected signing by Gov. Ron DeSantis. He has argued that the state's rapid population growth requires redistricting. And he's urged the redrawing of districts that were drawn with consideration for preserving the voting power of minority communities.
I love how cucky institutionalists still think that these monsters care about the "stain" that their integrity will suffer. But some states are scrambling to redistrict:

It'd be hilarious if the SCOVA struck down the new map, CA really did do a dummymander and ended up losing seats (combined with aggressive DOJ action on counting forever), and a few more red states redraw their maps with no loss.

That is the ruling that says one man, one vote applies to state districting, so instead of a geographic districting (like there is on federal level,) there is all this district bull. The racial part is only part of the problem. It still doesn't resolve the urban v. rural problem. I'm all for cordoning off all the blue cities, but the maps that suggest that only the few hardcore urban areas would remain Democrat misses the point that while urban black populations are dominant in cities, there is also the cohort of urban white liberals who also vote along the same lines, and they have pushed their way far outside the inner city.

IANAL, but one of the lovely things about these newfangled AI summaries is how easy it makes it look up how laws work. When that Texan reporter was assaulted at the Minnesota protest outside an ICE facility, I looked it up to check if residents of different states would get the Feds involved, and found my guess was wrong. The most solid source of Federal jurisdiction is a conspiracy against civil rights, since the family worked together in violence against her 1A rights. The next was *if* the Federal property line extended out past where she was assaulted, then that would be another predicate. There was no third. I don't think people understand just how bad a thing Kagan did.
It looks like not only did she allegedly leak the abortion decision, but she delayed turning in her opinion so as to give leftwing assassins as long a runway as possible to get the job done and off one of the rightwing justices. That would have made it 4-4 and Roe would have stood. She knew they were besieged with threats and required extra protection for both them and their families, but she delayed anyway. Can you imagine the workplace environment on the court now? In that context she is lucky that all Alito threw at her was some shade! Posted by: Thatch at April 29, 2026 05:14 PM (7HCLI) 280

1) Bost v. ---------------------------- Los Angeles has rejected an entrepreneur’s cheap and simple fix to stop the city’s crippling copper wire theft crisis. End Metal Theft spokesman Mark James revealed to the California Post it had created a hardened cover that secures streetlights and would stop neighborhoods being plunged into darkness. The device, which fastens over the lid to the wires, would make it harder, louder and far riskier for criminals to try to gain access. They would cost about $300 to install, are easily maintained and would save the tens of thousands of dollars it costs to repair vandalized streetlamps. But James revealed City Hall chiefs shot it down, instead wanting to focus on converting to solar lamps that will cost up to $6,000 each. Posted by: beckster at April 29, 2026 05:19 PM (kX27y) 308

Keep this in mind:
Trump's win in 2024, if it was 20+ years ago, would have been a wave that swept Republicans to at least a 20 seat majority in the House. Maybe 40. That's how razor thin precise Dems have gerrymandered their states--they held Rs to a small majority in a wave. But they have almost no seats they can flip now either--they need a wave to flip the red seats in their states since they've packed so many R voters in them. I think they did this just so Powell will leave the Board of Governors promptly to avoid questioning. It happened several times in Trump I administration once the DoJ and FBI became subjects of the IG investigation for that department. People resigned or retired to avoid testilying. IG can also give criminal referrals which sticks up the ass of someone like Boasberg as much more obvious to try to stymie indictments based on an OIG investigation. Could this be the new inititive for illegals? Put them in CECOT for awhile and blast them to Mars to form their own colony? ICE could soon inform them: your homeland, CECOT or a future in Mars. Let's see how many self deport over this deal! I am simply thankful I remembered seeing this somewhere vs dreaming: https://tinyurl.com/yd5v6uk5 Granted we know they will become cannibals up there and mutate but I think it's a win win. Add a few Haitians and Somolians to the mix and see who wins (there won't be cats on Mars). He says it's early because his first rocket exploded...but I think we have enough illegals to rush it, Elon. Then send a handful once the rocket is a success then many in cargo rockets. These are the illegals who refuse to go to their homeland and when CECOT is full. Or send some El Salvadorians as well to help them. Either/or. Posted by: SpeakingOf ====== As I said above, an active OIG investigation is targeting the cost overruns. OIG can make Powell testify if he does not leave the board regardless of the 5th Amendment. If he leaves, then they no longer have power to compel testimony. I think this was the backup when Powell did not resign and Boasberg stuck his oar in. And the OIG after the conclusion of its investigation can still give criminal referrals for prosecution to the DoJ. Posted by: whig at April 29, 2026 05:45 PM (E4rtv) 387
