Virginia Supreme Court Denies Democrat Motion to Impose Gerrymandered Map During the Hearings Over Its Legality
Comey Indicted for Threating Trump's Life with "8645" Post?

This is not a final order. But the Democrats wanted to implement the illegal map during the period when the Virginia Supreme Court is considering it, and the Virginia Supreme Court refused.

A court's refusal to grant these interlocutory and injunctive motions often, but not always, tips the way the court imagines the ultimate ruling will go.

Let's do a two-in-one: Reports say that James Comey has been re-indicted -- a leftwing judge quashed the last one -- for his "8645" Instagram post, which seems to be an incitement to murder Trump.

Bill Melugin
@BillMelugin_

BREAKING: @FoxNews colleague @davidspunt reports that former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted again in relation to his "8647" seashell post on Instagram last year.

I don't know if anyone really gets arrested or imprisoned for inciting a murder of Trump -- Obama, sure, but not Trump. The leftwing media spends all day inciting murder.

The odds of conviction are better, I think, if they can cast this as a threat to kill Trump, but I don't know if that argument would win. If I say that someone should take out James Comey, that's not me actually threatening him.

And by the way, I never would have said something like that, even as a hypothetical, before this week, but as the left is now engaged in open incitement of violence I'm done being super-careful about my own language.

I just don't see it. "86" can have many meanings.

"86" (eighty-six) is an American slang term meaning to get rid of, discard, cancel, or refuse service to someone. Originating in the 1930s, likely from restaurant or soda-fountain jargon, it is commonly used to indicate an item is out of stock or to eject an unruly customer.

10 "What this means in plain terms:

Jay Jones’ outside counsel from California asked the Court to allow the election process to proceed pending the rulings on the merits of the gerrymandering cases.

The Court said “no.” This stops the election from being certified for now.

The same Supreme Court that allowed the referendum to go forward in March, so voters could be heard, has now declined to override a final judgment finding the constitutional amendment process defective. Strong signal that process matters in Virginia.

The Attorney General asked the Court of Virginia to set aside a final order that exposed a ballot question he would not quote, an Article XII timeline he had to redefine, and a 1912 case that did not say what he needed it to say.

The Supreme Court said “no.”"

Posted by: Formerly Virginian at April 28, 2026 02:28 PM (N1tpc)

29 It would be funny as hell if the Democrats started the Great Gerrymanding Wars, but ultimately had all (or most) of their gerrymandering attempts blocked, while the Republicans's counter-attack gerrymandering responses all (or mostly) succeeded. So that ultimately the Dems LOSE seats as a result of the tit-for-tat gerrymandering.

Maybe that;'s already happening?

All we need to do is will until the 2030 census and the 2032 redistricting, when the 0.8-child-per-liberal-woman vs. the 1.6-children-per-conservative women demographic shift will finally become overwhelming, and the liberals will have aborted them themselves out of electoral relevance.

Democrats have become an urban party which means vast expanses of red country side and outer suburbs and a compact blob of blue around cities and university towns outside of cities surrounded by red.

And that in turn makes it sheer stupidity that the isolated blue citadels try to declare war on their surrounding red brethren. Even nukes don't help as Swalwell, the idiot mentioned once in passing. You destroy and poison your own food production in flyover country yet the number of reds in the sticks are so dispersed that using nukes is simply likely to piss them off.

Cities are far better locations for mass slaughter--disable food service, power, and water to a city, it dies incredibly soon.

You can tell leftist loonies never actually have played old school wargames involving and including the unthinkable.

An example of how they cook the books to absolve the Left of violence in the WSJ today: A graph it published that seems to show near parity between Left and Right wing political violence is sourced to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, which by its own admission reclassified pro-Palestinian violence as "ethnonationalist". It classifies all antisemitism as Right-wing, and all pro-Palestinian "attacks on Jewish individuals or institutions" as "ethnonationalist." This is just nakedly partisan propaganda presented as "data" and then mainstreamed in the American press.

Shit happens when Democrats are a minority because Democrats are almost always compacted in urban areas.

It's the story of the NC congressional map, too. People forget that NC redistricted last year. It was easy and fast (governors in NC can't veto congressional maps passed by the legislature), and it just kept Democrats in their three enclaves in the state.

You destroy and poison your own food production in flyover country yet the number of reds in the sticks are so dispersed that using nukes is simply likely to piss them off.

My favorite muse is, "it must drive other countries insane to war plan against the US, where nuking any major city only makes the country stronger."

All the same, you can't say that Jefferson doesn't give Democrat ideologues breathing room and cover.

I don't contest anything you said, but all the same, it's not to assent to the idea that Dems hide out as "true champions of the Constitution" and it's just whether or not they can fool enough people--and probably will be until the last shovel of dirt is heaped on the grave of the Democratic Party.

That's all I'm saying about Jefferson. There is a good reason why you hire TJ to dash off a protest letter to the King, but use the leadership and deliberation of your namesake to helm the drafting of a basis of law.

Judge had already issued the injunction before the vote that was set aside in March to allow voting for the referendum to occur making those points in the preliminary injunction.

This was just redoing his old homework putting the VA Sup Ct on the spot of either declaring Calvinball law rules in VA (Delaware is paying the price for that in corporate law) or following the law which means the referendum is mort this go around.

I doubt it.

Comey should be indicted for this. He should be indicted for lying under oath and leaking, when he said that he only released his "notes" to his personal attorney (while agreeing with a Dem Congressman that he released his notes to get Mueller appointed, knowing he can't square those two statements).

He should be indicted for fraud on a FISA application. So we can put some teeth behind the idea that this is not your trial to run on some target, where you make a fleeting gesture at providing exculpatory evidence.

There should be controls on "ex-parte trials" or there should be NO "ex-parte trials" at all.

I entertain that it would be justified for Trump to suspend all FISA applications on the basis of the "Ensure" clause.

To be fair, Jefferson looked at it as a political battle as both he and James Madison tried to end the established state church of Virginia. Like its English predecessor, non Anglicans/Episcopalians were taxed to support church buildings and personnel that were not of their choosing.

Jefferson was not wearing his lawyer hat but his politician one when he wrote that letter. If you notice, he did nothing about it as president but wrote a private letter to old political supporters for use in Virginia politics to help end the established church.

In his actual law career primarily dealing with property law, he was actually pretty damn good and his argument on appointment law that it had to be delivered to be in effect in Marbury is probably more sound based on contract law than Marshall's opinion. Marshall used logical deduction but no precedent, Jefferson used common law of contracts which had lengthy precedents attached.

A US Constitutional amendment that starts "We 50% of Americans agree that this amendment will not need the 2/3rds majority of Congress or the 3/4ths majority of states to enact this amendment" is not just simply "an amendment".

I dislike him personally after reading Dumas Malone's biography (all six volumes) and various other direct writings of Jefferson himself and other biographies on specific instances (like his flight from the British as governor).

But yet, I find him an exceptional politician, his legal reasoning on cases is better than the more celebrated John Marshall's, and he was able to put aside his own prejudices as president to do things like the Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark Expeditions. His founding of UVa was also notable along with his service in the Continental Congress and the revolt against King George III.

Personally, I dislike the guy, as a politician and statesman, he did pretty damn good. And he did sign the ban on importing new slaves in 1808 without which, our problems would be much greater today.

151 Jefferson was not wearing his lawyer hat but his politician one when he wrote that letter. If you notice, he did nothing about it as president but wrote a private letter to old political supporters for use in Virginia politics to help end the established church.

Whig. I've always agreed with that assessment.

But you can't help get around that in that open, political posturing letter, he flipped what people at the time would think of as "their legislature".

As a late-in-life-separatist, myself, I don't disparage Jefferson for his stance as much as I used to. Nonetheless, he equivocates on what people chose for their federal legislature. By and large, it was no power to interfere with the religious powers claimed by the state.

What Madison and Jefferson accomplished in Virginia, notwithstanding.

It is a political posture that we have been paying for in the form of the the left's siege walls of separation.

1. Kamala has a full 50% of support in the Democrat party primary. A full 65% from black voters. Newsom has about 20%.

2. The generic congressional ballot is...50/50.

If the GCB is really going to be 50/50, there's a better chance of Republicans winning the MI senate race AND the GA senate race than of Democrats winning the NC senate race.

For the Democrats to gerrymaner a state, they need to draw insane boundaries.

For the GOP to "gerrymander" a state, all they need to do is just restore the obvious and natural boundaries that should have been there in the first place.

In other words, what the GOP does is actually anti-gerrymandering, because the natural and obvious district boundaries will favor them 90% of the time.

Yep because the Democrat voting coalition is two groups of people that famously and really noticeably don't live near each other, and very few outside of them, namely:

- Rich white AWFULs
- Black people

So in order to get a district that will almost certainly elect a Dem, they have to draw district lines that include some whitebread ass suburban HOA hellhole, then connect it via interstate highway to the black ghetto.

226 Non-election lawyer me wonders how close to primaries courts will permit congressional district remapping shenanigans. Maybe it's a dumb question. Especially in Blue States. In those states the remapping and primary election separation period will from now on be whatever the Democrat Machine can get away with.
---
Not dumb Q at all.
There's a specific SCOTUS case on that, no election law changes before a pending election.
Recently the TX redistricting case set (for now) that "pending" as roughly 90 days before the election.

They stayed the judges injunction on the new maps in December as the primary election was set for March; allowing the new maps to go into effect.

That's why VA is pushing so hard to get these maps in place now--and why the delay could be fatal.
VA starts early voting for the general in September.
Meaning late June.
And they still have to hold their primaries for the "new" districts. Which, I think, have to be completed a required number of days before the General.

But this is how progs bundle arguments. They need to get to a list, whether it's on target or not.

Sending that addled dotard over here to kiss some ass can't make up for Albion's perfidy. Nothing can. Congress should behead him, pike the head on the WH lawn, and throw his body in the Chesapeake for the gulls as an answer to Britain.

Useless, treacherous wankers.

Trump should have listed the payments to Stormy as "Payment to undercover Informant Dees" as I understand paying informants is legal.

"undercover Informant Dees?"
"Yeah, undercover informin' on deez nuts!"

Yeah, I don't have much respect for "Trucons", who've shown themselves as practically undifferentiable from Democrats.

And as I believe that Congress right now contains DC drones in the seats of "Republicans", well, it's no big leap to see "Trucons" as similar shills.

301 @272 284 I think it would take about a nanosecond for a court to slap down the EO returning Arlington to DC. Even if the Constitution provided for it, there have been almost 170 years since Virginia took the land back when no one challenged it. I don't know of any legislation that PDT could point to that would justify it, and a lot of legislation where Congress has assumed that the land and people belong to Virginia.

Now, if Congress were to pass a law, that would be a very different story.

Personally, I'd rather see DC reduced down to the area from the Washington Monument to the Capital, including the White House, and give the rest of it to Maryland.

Most elected Republicans are the mayor from Red Dawn.

Who rats out the patriots, even as the commies mock him for being such a wonderful shepherd of his people.

And stands there while the same people he named are executed by .50 cal; throws up and ... goes back to town to stay as mayor--still completely refusing to see who the real enemy is.

305 86

There are ansi standards for control systems, switches, relays. Been around for ever. They are numerical designations.

For whatever reason, the 86 switch is kill switch.
Used to stop really bad things from happening and requires manual reset. Note that this is not a normal thingy to turn stuff off.

Any way. It got its designation somehow.
'Off the menu" is not it.

307 If VA’s map is voted down by the court, someone needs to file a suit in Massachusetts. At least VA left 1 measly GOP seat. In mass it’s 9-0. And it was 10-0 before Mass lost a seat in 2020. That’s so fucking egregious it’s beyond comprehension how it’s been allowed to stand all these years.

*************************************

Every single county in Massachusetts voted for Kamala over Trump in 2024, with only a single county (Bristol) even being close. If there aren't sufficiently large geographic areas where Republican voters dominate, then there won't be any Congressional districts won by Republicans even without gerrymandering. A cursory glance at a map of Massachusetts Congressional districts shows some gerrymandering but relatively mild.
