(included in the government release), and so forth. Many commenters did not believe he was dead. He was in a witness protection program. He had been taken to another astral plane. Or he had been murdered before a staged suicide. All of these takes were more plausible than the government's report. Even if they contradicted each other. Anyway, Wilcock had some reasons to be deeply depressed. According to one report I saw he was 500,000 dollars in debt due to the failure of an airplane company. There were other fall-outs with those he had counted on as friends. Never mind. He had spoken against suicide in the past. In any case, more of us need to engage in "global meditation", as urged by Wilcock.Once you’re forced to hypothesize whole new technologies to keep your conspiracy possible, you’ve stepped over into the realm of magic. What’s dangerous about that is that it blinds you to the real conspiracies that authorities are perpetrating on you right now.The "All Conspiracy" folks must ignore this kind of thinking. (By the way, why hasn’t Omar or someone ever launched the Northern Poverty Law Center? Is there something extra special about southern poverty?) Move over turtles: It’s frauds all the way down. There's a lot less "extreme poverty" in the world now than there was 100, or even 50, years ago. With all due respect to His Holiness, this didn't come from "more equitable distribution of wealth." Can you say RICO?
The SPLC indictment uses the magic words "scheme" and "wire fraud" but doesn't say RICO. That's coming, as the indictment shows RICO predicates. When the indictment turns into a criminal complaint it'll be the start of a sprawling RICO case brought out of Alabama, which is where SPLC is based. Another RICO case is being built out of Miami. SPLC is the first "node." It will expand to include other "nodes" as more grand juries issue indictments. Picture a diagram on a wall with lots of pins and colored string. Scenes from coming attractions. George Clooney will have to testify that he had no knowledge that his SPLC donations would be used to foment the Charlottesville riot, which is evidence that donations were diverted to an illegal end. WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced plans on Friday to expand federal execution methods, including the reintroduction of firing squads. Pope Leo XIV, meanwhile, spoke out about his opposition to the death penalty—though it is not certain they were directly related to the announcement, as they were addressed to the 15th anniversary of the abolition of the death penalty in his home state of Illinois.

Posted by: Not A Fan! ======= It gets boring. One of the issues is that organizational management including fundraising/membership always conflicts with the task of saving souls. Religious leaders in effect wear two hats--one is preaching the Gospel and the second is keeping the lights on, pews filled, and buildings habitable. For the second, that means money has to be raised and if those in the pews can't donate enough, the money has to come from somewhere else. And that is where the trouble starts. Common people don’t understand the Wire Fraud designation. The SPLC used generically named intermediates to disguise the actual source of the funds and the final recipient of the funds from scrutiny by any external observers. That clear intent to deceive constitutes wire fraud, and has nothing to do with what the original contributors did or did not intend.

Posted by: Tom Servo Leftists can wail all they like but simply put, SPLC used donor funds for actions that were ginned up by its informants in order to get more donor funds by fraud. And they had to use communications to the donors to do it and exchange funds over the 'wires'. You can't legally create a self licking ice cream cone without the fraud which is what the SPLC did like in the Charlottesville op. A few hundred thousands or a million ended up with a spike in contributions of close to 100 million bucks. Helluva a return. My guess is a number of these leftist organizations have done the same exact thing--Media Matters, Human Rights Coalition, etc. They all rely on outrage for fundraising which is easy enough to fund people under the table in their targets to do so. CAIR FOUNDER UNVEILS 20-YEAR POLITICAL TAKEOVER STRATEGY FROM U.S. MOSQUE “We Will Write Our Own Narrative… We Will Produce Lawmakers… We May Have a Supreme Court Judge.” A newly uncovered 2024 sermon by CAIR founder Nihad Awad reveals a structured, long-term political strategy aimed at transforming America’s legal, media, academic, and political systems, openly laid out from the pulpit of an American mosque in Maryland..We have almost 4,000 mosques in America… That’s the infrastructure of the Muslim community,” Awad declared. “Establish a scholarship fund… for five students: one to study journalism, one filmmaking, one law, one political science, and one history.” 🔺He then spelled out the scale and purpose of the project: “f we start in 2025 or 2026… four years from now we will have 4,000 new journalists, filmmakers, lawyers, political scientists, and history students.” And the end goal: “Twenty years from now, the Muslim community will have 50,000 attorneys, 50,000 journalists, 50,000 filmmakers, 50,000 professors ..We will write our own history. ======== Organizational demands again. It is all too easy to switch the focus in religious organizations to combating external ills that have little to do with membership instead on internal ills of the congregants. Focus too much on the sins of the individuals sitting in the pews or that of their loved ones, it ends up pissing them off to leave, stop donating, switching to another more congenial denomination. Same reason that Mainline Protestantism turned rancid and socialist. Easier to keep congregants if you blame the 'government' for executions, social conditions for crime, drugs, etc. If instead you tell congregants that we are all sinners and need to focus on internal salvation first and the Great Commission, then voila, not so popular, especially with the well heeled types educated into social liberalism at college. Cancelling this trip was the least surprising thing in the history of things. A minor mystery remains as to why it was even contemplated. While obviously PDJT operates with info none of us have, was difficult to believe the Iranian side was either 1) coherent enough 2) had somehow suddenly become willing to accept what (we still must hope) are unacceptable demands - just based on what is actually known publicly.
Festivities very likely to re-commence. We currently have augmented our "cards" in the theater, and as the saying goes the IDF is "tanned, rested, and ready". It turns out the owner is a personal injury lawyer who is suing Tesla for some unnamed issues with the self-driving feature, who says he thinks being distracted by talking to a chatbot is dangerous driving, and yet he spends most of his drive time doing exactly this same stuff. Why not just drive, and )if you must), talk to AI later, at home.

Meanwhile, under the present hormuz blockade Iran's energy infrastructure will collapse. They cannot move the oil out hormuz, barges are full etc. We wait two weeks, the blockade collapses the energy infrastructure, we bomb piece of the coastline where Iran is hiding remaining annoyances that threaten shipping, and remove remaining missile and nukkelar industrial base. Blonde, pretty much, though in this situation defining "has it worked" is particularly complicated. Priority targets are mostly familiar - ballistic missiles and drones and related infrastructure, leadership. But the "progress" already accomplished in Phase 1, plus our augmentation of assets in the theater, should allow a serious effort to destroy the regime's only remaining "card" - interdicting Strait traffic.
Imagine a regime without even a closed Strait, further reduction in their already mostly ineffective offensive capability, and selective additional hits on their economy (economic targets can be selected for specific effects and there is no defense against our attacks). Pretty grim prospect for the vile delusional regime. Posted by: rhomboid at April 25, 2026 12:58 PM (U/Byj) 138

So many aspects to what is happening in Iran.
Its a big place and it is fractured. Regional structures are now being contested as well as the reins of power in Tehran. The IRGC will do anything to stay in power, the regular army (and Reserves) are players, as is the Basij. There are religious factions, economic factions, plus the usual rural-urban splits. After hammering these guys like we have, these last couple of weeks have been welcome. We can refit and rearm, and we can watch iran to see who getting sorted out, and who thinks they are in charge. All that said, we have a ways to go yet. Posted by: Diogenes at April 25, 2026 01:05 PM (2WIwB) 150
runner, pretty much echoing what you said, though suppression of the anti-shipping threat is probably pretty serious lifting. But I'd like to see it. Think we have the capability. Both for blanketing land-based threats and countering fast-attack boats on the water. Lots of shooting involved but a totally lopsided affair.
And I'm sure it's being talked about, but the easiest blockade, and one that ratchets up the psychological pressure (and reinforces correct perception that the Iranian side is pretty helpless), would be selective mining of Iran's ports. Game over as far as maritime situation. Impossible for the Iranians to counter, easy for us to clear once the dust settles. Posted by: rhomboid at April 25, 2026 01:06 PM (U/Byj) 151

The Virginia Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments for Monday over a challenge to the validity of the redistricting referendum, the latest step in a fast-moving court battle over the commonwealth’s congressional map. Monday’s oral arguments, stemming from a challenge brought by Republican Virginia Senate Minority Leader Ryan McDougle and other Republican officials, could determine the fate of a voter-approved map that could lead to Democrats in as many as 10 of the 11 congressional seats. Posted by: Dr. Pork Chops & Bacons ==== Not sure that is true. An organization that cannot pay its enforcers cannot survive long in the world. Even the Basiji have to eat and Iran is a food importer, not exporter. ===== From fun facts on Brave AI, Key aspects of Iran's food import profile include: Strategic Dependence: Iran imports roughly 30% of its wheat and virtually all of its corn (primarily for animal feed), relying heavily on the Strait of Hormuz for maritime shipments from countries like Brazil and Russia. Primary Commodities: Major imports include wheat, barley, corn, oilseeds, edible oils, and soybean meal, which are critical for domestic food security and livestock production. > If Trump takes out Kharg Island depot and oil storage, that pretty much ends what the IRGC has been using to pay the bills.
------------ Blockade will take care of that. If the administration (DoW) believes it can operate in the Hormuz proper all tankers that fill up at Kharg are going to remain in the Persian Gulf until this is over. If, OTOH the IRGC is funneling oil elsewhere from Kharg then we might have to do something about that. Whether that's at the island is debatable. US hasn't publicly spelled out details of the blockade, but likely it will conform to customary norms if it gets to that - i.e. "humanitarian" cargoes are exempted (basically food, and medical stuff). Easy to inspect cargoes (and type of ship tells you 90% of what you need to know). I do not know the Iranian port situation WRT to which ones do bulk cargoes, which covers most food imports.
Don't mine that one, inspect inbound traffic outside the Strait (current set-up). No big deal. Posted by: rhomboid at April 25, 2026 01:13 PM (U/Byj) 164

Posted by: Martini Farmer ====== Kharg represents about 90 percent of exports for oil and petroleum products of Iran. They never built pipelines like the Saudis and their oil region is centered in the lowlands around the Persian gulf, not the mountainous inlands of Iran. Shipping by tanker trucks is not really an option and pissing off their Arab neighboring states makes it unlikely to help. Israel hit their lesser export facilities on the Caspian Sea. Not really an option right now to send it elsewhere by other means than shipping. Iran always assumed that they would have the whip hand in shutting off the world's energy supply until they obtained nukes. That appears to be an egotistical mistake by the Iranians because they don't really understand other people. Same as the stupid bombings of even their erstwhile Arab neighboring states--all it did was incentivize those Gulf states to turn over the financial records and finances of the Iranian government/IRGC. E.g. US just seized about $500 million of Iranian crypto accounts. Posted by: whig at April 25, 2026 01:17 PM (E4rtv) 171
My customary in-depth 2 minute look at the VA gerrymander case seemed to indicate upholding it would require a Modern Day Judicial Special (where a court solemnly rules that 1 + 1 = 17.8 or something, in order to achieve a political/legislative purpose, like Roberts in O-care case, or Kennedy in comical Hamdan v. Bush military tribunal case).
The Dems failed to follow VA's constitutional or statutory rules for adopting the measure, from the start, is what I thought I saw. Will be darkly comical to see the "courts" not strike it down, and thus failing to do their only real job, which is as glorified clerks. Posted by: rhomboid at April 25, 2026 01:18 PM (U/Byj) 172

No, easy. We currently turn away all traffic (AFAIK). If we apply normal blockade rules, we can inspect all bulk carriers, which is easy. All major food imports are aboard bulkers. If a container ship claims to have exempt cargo, we inspect.
