The Morning Report — 4/ 21/26

BrennanDown.jpg

Good morning kids, As combat operations continue above and around Iran and quite possibly on the ground with both American and Israeli soldiers or special forces/intel operatives if not mass formations of troops (thank goodness that that has not happened). For sure the Iranian regime has got the living shit kicked out of it, but rest assured, cardboard cutouts notwithstanding, the head of the snake has yet to be cut off and can still inflict a serious bite.

Israel on Monday exposed the global terror network operated by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) through its covert “Unit 4000,” detailing how the apparatus directed plots against Israeli officials, embassies, and strategic infrastructure worldwide while key commanders were killed during the U.S.-Israel campaign against Iran.

According to the joint statement, members of the cell were arrested with explosive drones and fragmentation charges they had smuggled into the country, after gathering intelligence on targets through surveillance and photography under direct orders from handlers in Iran. . . The arrests led Israeli intelligence agencies to uncover the broader structure and chain of command of Unit 4000, a covert division within the IRGC’s intelligence apparatus responsible for directing terrorist activity abroad against Israeli and Western targets, including attempts to smuggle advanced weaponry into Israel.

Remember that "Global" doesn't just mean Israel since given the nature of our pre-Trump era nearly non-existent southern border or even the smallest iota of an illusion of border security going back decades, and with Iranian agents operating with impunity all over Latin America (especially Cavez/Maduro ruled Venezuela), it's safe to assume that quite a few Iranian and other Islamic terror cells have made it over the border along with the wetback lettuce and grape-pickers.

That said, it's I was expecting some sort of Iranian backed or executed terror attack on our soil, despite the decapitation strikes on Iran's military and intelligence leadership. It's a good thing that our law enforcement and intelligence agencies are fully on board with protecting the American homeland and citizenry.

Okay you can stop laughing, and start weeping:

Maryland’s new immigration enforcement restrictions are drawing sharp pushback from law enforcement, who warn the “sanctuary” shift undermines public safety and cooperation with ICE. . . . Maryland is flexing its “sanctuary state” muscles, working against its own citizens in an effort to protect illegal immigrant criminals who are acting in the state.

Ridiculous. And the reasoning behind this is even worse. Senator Mary Beth Carozza noted the following: “Maryland Sheriffs have warned that legislation like this could actually increase the presence of ICE agents in Maryland. Without open lines of communication, we are only raising the chances that Maryland could become the next Minnesota.

But it’s funny. When you actually ask law enforcement about how something like this can take effect, you get a much different answer.

Yes, multi-billion dollar grifting as well as rapes, robberies and murder are bad enough but as noted above potential mass casualty terrorist events are quite something else. Yes, it's encouraging that the author notes "Pushback" from Maryland's law enforcement rank and file, but unless the latter en masse informs the MD governor and legislature that they will disregard and disobey this illegal and insane law by fully cooperating with ICE, it's just just hot air.

Take a stand or dry up and go away.

Have a great day!

And lastly, a quick shout-out and a huge thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

5 Senior intelligence and law enforcement officials working with the Department of Justice’s probe into former CIA Director John Brennan were issued subpoenas to testify before a grand jury.

The subpoenas of the FBI and other intelligence officials were issued after the DOJ had directed an attorney aligned with President Donald Trump to take over the investigation, according to CBS News. The probe into Brennan centers around false statements he provided to Congress regarding his involvement in investigations between the Russian government and Trump’s 2016 campaign.

15 In Johnny Somali news

File this under, what were they thinking category.

Johnny Somali has appealed his light sentence. The prosecution then filed their appeal over the light six-month sentence.

This means Johnny stays in a detention center until the new trial starts which maybe in September at the earliest. Johnny's appeal and the prosecution's appeal will go before a three judge panel at that time, Bong Bong and others will probably have to testify again.

If Johnny Somali had stayed quiet and the prosecution had not appealed, Jonny would have been released in November. Before winter really starts to set in in South Korea.

18 VA election day. Men have not been contacted by either party, so if you know a male VA voter, get him to the poll (spouse has received no info about the election whereas my daughters and I got about 30 pieces of mail, just in the last week, from both parties).

Prediction is a +5 win for Yes (aka gerrymandering). So, if that's gonna flip, men have to show out in force today.

28 While it is likely a fact that Iranian terrorists made it over the border here, it is incredibly unlikely they did so with their sort of drones and major weaponry.

It doesn't mean they can't also smuggle in weapons, but it is a lot bigger effort to do so than walking across an open border with a million other people. (Note the Israelis caught them.)

Just keep things realistic in terms of threat analysis.

Here Trump's team messaging has been solid. They just keep calling them illegals.

Victim not dead but not good. Given the murders in the rest of the country I think we are looking at a very nasty summer

83 The one thing going is the D South VA may not be a fan of D NoVa in the election, b/c the 2 minority majority districts were eliminated in this plan, with power going to northern Ds.

If there's a shock win, it's b/c the power struggle of minority vs white Ds and north vs south Ds surprises the Yes vote.

I mean, Fairfax is gonna overwhelmingly go Yes b/c why wouldn't it? 5 seats to protect one county - if you could have extra power, why wouldn't a self-interested party take it?

Thus, we'll see if the other Dem counties want to give Fairfax that much power...they might...they might not.

Other than Fairfax, I don't know how cleanly Ds split on Yes and No for this vote.

84 But there's no way the Haitians would do that here!!

Among the sworn statements from OH locales about the Haitians eating wildlife and pets was picture of a Haitian carrying two dead Canadian geese.

But since some government peon said they weren't doing that, that's not true or something

85 He quoted Jackson’s comments to ABC News where she said, “I just feel that I have a wonderful opportunity to tell people in my opinions how I feel about the issues, and that’s what I try to do.”

Issues are not the law.
Issue change daily and some can not even written down today as they will change tomorrow.
We are a very stupid people to allow this person into our law system.

86 The issue in VA as in many purple to red states that keep showing up blue is that once you get a large enough blue stronghold they can produce as many votes as they need to win.

As the saying goes about Islamic terrorism, you have to be perfect defending against it, while they only need to win once. Similarly, the Democrats win once and immediately install the voting fraud apparatus. California after the 1986 amnesty was the model: they won once there and never let go.

107 >>Who isn't?

The left isn't.

What has become more obvious than ever is that Trump is leading a movement to overturn years of globalist policy to weaken the western powers through mass migration, increase China's power as a counter to the US and make Iran the center of power in the Middle East. The policies and actions his administration are taking are all connected in overturning that plan and the globalist left is fighting back hard with government and non-government aligned powers.

Leftists are now openly cheering for Iran to defeat Trump and fighting to keep all illegals in the US including violent criminals. They are stealing our taxes and sending them to criminal cartels overseas. They are demonizing Israel while covering for mass murdering Islamic terrorists.

This is a fight for western values and the left is on the other side.

A couple of district/appeals courts ruling the income tax is actually unconstitutional because of reasons for example would actually motivate the SC to actually address this stuff.

163 One of the interesting political things right now with retirement is that the age of retirement hasn't really declined in large part because the government takes more and more of your income over your life in taxes and inflation.

The left pitches to 20 year old that they should eat the rich but the rich they are eating are the 50 year old versions of themselves.

It would be nice if there was an opposition party pointing this out on a regular basis.

165 As Learned Hand famously wrote, ‘Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court … can do much to help it.’ For all Americans, standing up for our Constitution and our freedom is work that lies ahead.
~~ Mollie Hemingway quoting Justice Alito
=========================
Disturbingly, many casual lefties have abandoned freedom in favor of government, even bohemian sorts who would miss freedom most acutely. Some of my oldest friends have moved into this category, convinced somehow that they themselves must sacrifice freedom to save the climate, or to protect abortion, or to stop imperial America from controlling other countries. Or whatever.

Very sad.

186 DataRepublican has confirmed what many suspected: the Deep State has been trying to spin up a military coup to remove The Donald. They trained 5 of the "Seditious Six" in what to say that would maximally incite active-duty military to defy the command structure, and their own documentation identifies Pete Hegseth as enemy #1 towards accomplishing that.

And this harks back to what I was talking about yesterday - why aren't those six assholes in prison right now for insurrection? I can only think of a few reasons:
- Trump doesn't have the balls;
- Trump's people would not obey his orders;
- Trump doesn't have the political capital;
- The GOP would impeach his ass in a NY minute;
- The Seditious Six have some sort of congressional immunity;
- Congress would circle the wagons to protect their 'collegiality'

None of these reasons give me any hope for true, lasting change post-Trump. I still say the GOP deserves to lose the midterms.

I think there's a tendency to believe just because you win and election DC institutions must fall in line. This is from a conservative 20+ year DOJ vet who was forced out. Worth a read.

And there is serious money behind the continuing attempts at amnesty and the various work visas that far too many employers, including small businesses and farms, want cheap labor so they can make more money. Labor in many fields is about 60-70 percent of all expenditures in a business so owners pay less for labor=more profit.

236 Gabbard’s releases—including material pulled from “burn bags” and previously hidden files—make it increasingly difficult for legacy media to dismiss these connections as conspiracy theory. The documents show how second-hand claims were elevated to impeachment-level accusations while exculpatory evidence was buried or ignored. At some point, the game of whack-a-mole becomes too large even for the legacy media—which has grown lazy and complicit—to keep spinning disinformation to cover up their criminal acts.

This is the very definition of an ongoing criminal enterprise, the core of a RICO case. On March 26, I described the Southern District of Florida grand jury subpoenas to Comey and Brennan as the potential RICO hammer finally dropping on a decade-long conspiracy, even as the DOJ is continuing to purge holdovers who have been dragging their feet. Because the enterprise is treated as ongoing, statutes of limitations do not shield the participants. Moving the case to Florida avoids the deeply conflicted D.C. venue and gives accountability a real chance to stick.

241 I say retire whenever you want. Why wait an extra 5 or 10 years to get a bigger check when everyone knows that the longer you live, the sooner you'll die. (I kid, I kid--that's a line from an old Irish song.)

But seriously, the government uses actuarial tables to determine the amounts, and while a few of us will outlive their estimates, most of us will not.

If you love your job and love working, keep at it. But if are counting the days and you long to retire, just do it!

243 Is that the SS math that if you take it at 67 you get twice the $$$ that you get at 62?

62 == 70% of 67 (but it's recalculated monthly, I believe, so you could retire at 66.5 and get most of the 67 money).
70 == 124% of 67 (I think this one is calculated annually, naturally).

I don't believe that there is any benefit to waiting past 70.

246 Democrats are running on 2 platforms this fall:

1) Hatred of Trump, MAGA, etc. As I note, Trump is just a proxy for anything and anyone "not-leftist." And this is not a policy-driven hatred--it's personal: They hate Trump, they hate you, they hate your family, they hate everyone and everything that isn't leftist.

2) "Billionaires stole my Lambo!" They've convinced their young voters their education certificates entitled them to a 6k sqft house, 6-figure income and a Lambo.
And the only reason they don't have that is because billionaires stole it from them.

Greed and Hatred are all Democrats have to offer.
And it's selling.

- Trump doesn't have the balls;
- Trump's people would not obey his orders;
- Trump doesn't have the political capital;
- The GOP would impeach his ass in a NY minute;
- The Seditious Six have some sort of congressional immunity;
- Congress would circle the wagons to protect their 'collegiality'

None of these reasons give me any hope for true, lasting change post-Trump. I still say the GOP deserves to lose the midterms.

I decided to take retirement, and social security as soon as I was eligible to retire. 6 years ago when I was in my late 50's. I don't get "the maximum" from either, but I figure, if lucky, I'll live long enough to enjoy what I've got.

317 I would expect the attacks on Vance to really ramp up after November. Everything he does, every move he makes will be scrutinized and twisted inorder to make him obnoxious to the base. The Left cannot tolerate even the chance that Trumpism goes on, so they will move Heaven and Earth to sell us on their acceptable Republican candidate. I am sure we can think of a few of them who they would find “ acceptable”.

Not sure how to put this, but they each saw their job duties through a prism that's 20 years old; part-reward, part-stepping stone, don't rock the boat too much.
And that would have been fine 20+ years ago.

But we are in a fight for the life of the Republic.

Trump needs fundamental change to the people, structure, and practices of every agency.
That means pissing off very powerful people, hurting feelings and making enemies.
That means friends and family.

Too much about marijuana legalization was based on 1970's era potency where the risk from smoking it was more its effect on cancer than permanent damage. Today's stuff is much higher in THC along with newer delivery routes for that THC like edibles and vaping. Like most pharmacology--the dose determines the poison.

You can see the effects in driving accidents and deaths and this tidbit, "Marijuana/hashish is the most commonly used drug among incarcerated populations in the United States, with approximately 77% to 78% of state prisoners and jail inmates reporting lifetime use. " Plus, "Current Use: Between 40% and 56% of state prisoners reported using marijuana in the month before their offense"

More than 250 journalists, including Dan Rather and Sam Donaldson, have signed an open letter demanding that the White House Correspondents’ Association turn this Saturday’s dinner into a stage for a direct, “forceful” confrontation with President Donald Trump.
The letter, sent to the WHCA on Monday, calls on the organization to use the podium at the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner to deliver a “forceful defense of freedom of the press and condemnation of those who threaten that freedom, followed by a standing toast to the First Amendment.”

“Speak forcefully, in front of the man who seeks to undermine our country’s long tradition of an independent, strong, and free press,” the letter says.

354 Another consideration about when to start Social Security concerns the trust fund, which is expected to be exhausted in about 7 years. At that point, current law says benefits will be cut across the board so that benefit payments are aligned with payroll tax receipts. Benefits would be cut 20-25%. However, it is unlikely pensioners with low benefits or who are relying solely on Social Security will see any reductions in their benefits, which means higher income retirees will see larger reductions in Social Security. Perhaps higher income retirees should start benefits asap to get as much as they can now, before the scheme collapses into a welfare program.

Can't get away from basic pharmacology--the dose of the active ingredient determines whether it is a poison or not. "Prior to the 1990s it was less than 2%. In the 1990s it grew to 4%, and between 1995 and 2015 there has been a 212% increase in THC content in the marijuana flower. In 2017 the most popular strains found in dispensaries in Colorado had a range of THC content from 17–28% such as found in the popular strain named “Girl Scout Cookie.”2 Sadly these plants producing high levels of THC are incapable of producing much CBD, the protective component of the plant so these strains have minimal CBD. For example the Girl Scout Cookie strain has only 0.09–0.2% CBD.

The flower or leaves that are generally smoked or vaped are only one formulation. We now have concentrated THC products such as oil, shatter, dab, and edibles that have been able to get the THC concentration upwards of 95%. "

How is a lowly Santa Barbara County judge more powerful than the president

A county judge in Santa Barbara has decided that she has more power than the President of the United States to regulate American energy supplies in wartime.

Last month, Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to allow Sable Offshore Corp. to resume operations, pumping 60,000 barrels per day to expand domestic supply and reduce prices.

It is the same power that Joe Biden used in 2022 to order the production of baby formula.

So what gives a lowly Santa Barbara Superior Court judge the power to override federal, and presidential, authority?

Nothing.

The net effect of Judge Donna Geck’s ruling is that Sable has to stop producing oil. Perhaps for months.

Same difference between drinking a beer everyday versus drinking a fifth of Everclear daily.

No one seriously here would be making comments about how drinking the fifth of Everclear per day is beneficial. It has all kinds of pain relief too as you would be comatose.

And driving drunk or driving stoned results in markedly higher risk of fatal/injury collisions as well as plain old accidents.

They don't test routinely in plain accidents as they probably should so the figures on impaired driving are actually lower than they should be. Accidents involving fatalities or severe injuries usually end up with drivers viewed at fault being forced to take alcohol and drug testing.

AI is going to kill a lot of those white collar jobs where paper is passed around while the nasty sweaty jobs will still be around.

Coding is probably the leading edge of AI job losses before the jobs of HR, consulting, legal, middle managers, even finance, etc. take a tumble.

To quote the Face's Ronnie Lane in Oo Lah Lah,

When I was younger
I wish that I knew what I know now"

384 And this harks back to what I was talking about yesterday - why aren't those six assholes in prison right now for insurrection?

Because we have to follow the law and they don't. It's literal Calvinball. DOJ empaneled a grand jury to convict them for sedition. The grand jury saw the (D) by their names and said "not guilty" and went home to Fairfax to trans their kids and drink wine.

Yes and no. I use AI daily for both my day-job and hobby coding, and I wouldn't replace even a green junior coder with it yet.

It's been fantastic at producing videos and songs to mock Hasan Piker though, which is why the Left is spinning up violent opposition to data centers.

I'm so old that I remember seeing those cartoons in the movie theater before the main feature. They were produced for showing in movie theaters back then.
