Golden retrievers are lucky they're so cute.

The call of the mockingbird.

Determined puppy.

An argument about who chewed up the charger cables. I can't understand either one of them but I have my own theories about the guilty party.

Ball shower.

Good morning good boys.

Animal husbandry.

Evil wears a mask.

All's fair in love and goats.

Tanning leather.

20 The current retail price for halibut in the US ranges from $4.31 to $39.99 per pound, depending on whether it is bulk frozen, fresh fillet, or a premium "first-catch" coastal special. Wholesale frozen prices are significantly lower, typically falling between $4.31 and $7.76 per pound, while supermarket frozen fillets usually cost $9.99 to $12.50 per pound.

That's why NASA went to the Moon. And took too long to do it again. Because you forget how to do important shit if you don't do it now and again.

63 Halibut is the common name for three species of flatfish in the family of right-eye flounders. In some regions, and less commonly, other species of large flatfish are also referred to as halibut.

The word is derived from haly (holy) and butte (flat fish), for its popularity on Catholic holy days. Halibut are demersal fish and are highly regarded as a food fish as well as a sport fish.

A 2018 cladistic analysis based on genetics and morphology showed that the Greenland halibut diverged from a lineage that gave rise to the Atlantic and Pacific halibuts. The common ancestor of all three diverged from a lineage that gave rise to the genus Verasper, comprising the spotted halibut and barfin flounder.

There are 3 species:

Atlantic halibut, Hippoglossus hippoglossus – lives in the North Atlantic.

Pacific halibut, Hippoglossus stenolepis – lives in the North Pacific Ocean.

Greenland halibut, Reinhardtius hippoglossoides – lives in the cold northern Atlantic, northern Pacific, and Arctic Oceans.

I hate arguing, but each of those is a separate fish. Brim, or bream, is generally the red-eared sunfish (I think).

That's my understanding.

Perch = long yellow & green fish. Smaller cousin of the walleye.

Sunfish = round green fish. Several related species. Often called "Bluegill" in MN, even if they aren't bluegills. Bream and Pumpkinseeds are other varieties.

Crappie = round black & white fish. Two related species.

275 "BREAKING: The US has rejected Iran's request for another round of talks in Pakistan.

The US is holding firm on key conditions — including reopening the Strait of Hormuz — while mounting economic pressure inside Iran is reportedly pushing its leadership toward renewed talks."

US should demand face-to-face negotiations. If/when they show up point out that their terrorist state was born in the destruction of the diplomatic sanctity of the embassy.
Arrest them, then shoot them in the back of the neck. Or just hold them hostage for 444 days.

Yup. As I said, I only had it one toe, but it was awful. Foot elevated, bag of ice (no wrapping) helped a bit. But even as it improved I was limping for days.

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. See if you can get with an actual dietitian- not a nutritionist- and have him / her really work with you. A good dietitian is a miracle worker with designing food / menus with illnesses.

283 Yeah, it's weird. When it was happening, I was crippled. My wife was disturbed and asked me to explain how it was hurting, and I couldn't.

I just told her that I wished I could cut the foot off.

Had one bad gout flare up. Made it the bathroom on the other side of the house because master bath was "occupied". Barely made it a spare bed, collapsed on it. Laid there looking at the door thinking, "If a slow zombie came in right now I would just let it put me out of my misery, not even try to run because I cannot."

Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at April 13, 2026 09:28 PM (

No.

Torture him for information, and send the tapes to relatives. Force him to make derogatory remarks about the Islamic Republic while lauding our humane treatment of him, and play that on Iranian TV. Then lord his captivity over the regime on a daily basis to humiliate them and his family.

Then, when/if they cut a deal for him, send his head - with the eyes plucked out.

Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at April 13, 2026 09:33 PM (BI5O2)

287 One of the problems of negotiations is who Iran sends. It's clear that they aren't sending the varsity and they do not have the authority to make commitments for the leadership. And then we have to wonder if this team is the legitimate decision-makers.
Hell, the varsity may not exist.

Shot in the ass with Prednisone and a script for the pills.
The shot will have noticeable effects with an hour or so.

Save most of the prednisone pills for later.

The purinol works good too. First time you take it usually triggers gout, so they usually give steroids with it when you start it. Cheap stuff (at least my co-pay is like $5 for three months). Don't know why my Doc originally suggested the Prednisone as cheaper until gout becomes a monthly thing.

Posted by: Bulg at April 13, 2026 09:31 PM (77rzZ

Dietitians specialize in creating nutrition plans for those with illnesses. Nutritionists understand nutrition needs in general or to support things like weight loss in a healthy way. They may specialize in something like sport nutrition, but not in response to illnesses.

NASA had lost its way. There was some benefit to puttering around in LEO (learning how to do shit in weightlessness, long term effects of zero-g on the human body and how to mitigate it, etc, etc), but there was no vision, no pioneer spirit. (The robotic probes are another story, they were quite impressive, but that's not sexy public eye catching stuff).

Isaacman is going to get that back, I hope.
