Shock, Surprise: Study from Finland Proves That "Transgender" Procedures Do Not Mitigate Mental Illness-- They Greatly Increase and Exacerbate It

Sorry I should have given you a "please be seated safely" warning but I'm just so stunned by this news I'm not quite thinking clearly.

This was published April 4.

"Psychiatric Morbidity" means "mental illness."

Psychiatric Morbidity Among Adolescents and Young Adults Who Contacted Specialised Gender Identity Services in Finland in 1996--2019: A Register Study
ABSTRACT
Aim
To examine the prevalence of severe psychiatric morbidity among gender-referred adolescents, focusing on gender differences and outcomes related to medical gender reassignment.
Methods
Finnish nationwide cohort of all under-23-year-old gender-referred individuals between 1996 and 2019 (n = 2 083) and 16 643 matched controls. Cross-tabulations with X2 statistics and Cox regression were used to analyse the data.
Results
Gender-referred adolescents showed significantly higher psychiatric morbidity than controls both before (45.7% vs. 15.0%) and ≥ 2 years after referral (61.7% vs. 14.6%).

That's big right there. Yes, we all expect that most "transgenders" have a constellation of mental illnesses. And this study shows that those who seek transgender therapy have a much higher incidence of "psychiatric morbidity," 45.7% vs. 15.0% as seen in the general population.

That's not news -- although the psychiatric community ignores all this mental illness and does not treat it, following instead the unproven, unevidenced theory that all of someone's mental illnesses are caused by their being "born in the wrong body" and will be cured by cutting their tits and dicks off.

They never concede the possibility that it is the constellation of mental problems -- autism, schizophrenia, depression, neuroticism -- that instead causes them to fall prey to the sales pitch that chopping off their genitals will be the Magic Bullet that cures all that ails them.

But again, that's not the big finding. The big finding is that while 45.7% of those seeking transgender "therapy" were mentally ill before contacting the transgender clinic, 61.7% were mentally ill two or more years AFTER receiving the transgender treatment that was supposed to cure all their other "psychiatric morbidities."

Those referred after 2010 had greater psychiatric needs than earlier cohorts, both before (47.9% vs. 15.3%) and ≥ 2 years after (61.3% vs. 14.2%) referral.

In other words: It's gotten worse since the Transgender Bomb was dropped on the world staring around 2010. "Earlier cohorts" means those seeking such treatments before the transgender terrorists mau-maued the medical community to completely stop treating "Transgender" Patients for their many other mental illnesses and just give them the "magic bullet" of "gender-affirming care." Before 2010 -- before "Jennifer" Pritzker used the Pritzker family fortune to set up a pressure group to pound psychiatrists into compliance -- psychiatrists would treat transgenders for their other illnesses.

But now? Just the magic bullet. Just give them sterilizing doses of cross-sex hormones and all of their other mental illness will evaporate like soft fog on a sunny spring morning.

Except, of course: The mental illnesses do not evaporate after the magic bullet. They get worse, for some reason.

If any of you can guess the reason why mentally ill people get more mentally ill after a huge dose of exogenous superphysiological cross-sex hormones, please let me know in the comments. It gets worse: This Magic Bullet Miracle Treatment of chopping off healthy organs and flooding the body with exotic experimental hormones absolutely destroys the brains of the children it's given to.

Among adolescents who underwent medical gender reassignment, psychiatric morbidity increased markedly during follow-up--rising from 9.8% to 60.7% in feminising gender reassignment and from 21.6% to 54.5% in masculinising gender reassignment.

Male to Fake Female treatments increased the incidence of mental illness from 9.8% to 60.7%.

Female to Fake Male treatments increased the incidence of mental illness from 21.6% (Bitches Be Crazy already) to 54.5%.

And yet they continue insisting that if you don't allow and even fund Franksenstein genital-swapping experiments, you're not providing "necessary health care."

Read those numbers again.

This is the kind of thing societies have violent purges over. I don't mean the transgenders, I mean the absolute Satanic monsters performing and advocating for these dangerous and rabidogenic -- I word I just made up for "crazy-making" -- procedures.

After adjusting for prior psychiatric treatment, all gender-referred adolescents had similarly elevated risks of psychiatric morbidity, with hazard ratios approximately three times higher than female controls and five times higher than male controls.
Conclusion
Severe psychiatric morbidity is common among gender-referred adolescents and appears to be more prevalent in those referred after the recent surge in referrals. Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment.

Summary
Gender-referred adolescents show high psychiatric morbidity, yet gender differences and mental health trajectories after medical gender reassignment remain poorly understood.
These adolescents had markedly higher psychiatric morbidity than controls before and after referral, with treatment needs often persisting and even intensifying after medical interventions--on some, they might even have a negative impact.
Findings emphasise the need for thorough psychiatric assessment and ongoing treatment throughout medical gender reassignment.

How about we just stop the "gender reassignment" treatment entirely until we've cured/mitigated the rest of the mental illness and can determine whether seeking "transition" is actually just a symptom of the underlying insanity?

Dr. Dionne Joseph, a clinical psychologist in the United Kingdom, called efforts to change a child's sex "arguably the biggest medical scandal of our time."
"Gender-affirming care is a disaster, but this proves it now," she told GB News. "The evidence is incontrovertible that the phalloplasties, all the medioplasties, the chest stuff they did, made these youngsters considerably worse."
Joseph called out the medical establishment for lying, hiding and obfuscating evidence that contradicted the prevailing narrative that such irreversible interventions worked to help children.

The study, published this week in Acta Paediatrica, was led by Professor Riittakerttu Kaltiala of Tampere University Hospital.
Kaltiala has run Finland's youth gender clinic since 2011. She also served on the UK's Cass Review advisory board.
Finland centralises all gender identity assessments to two university hospitals.
Because health register reporting is mandatory and patients cannot opt out, the dataset captured the complete fate of every gender-referred adolescent in the country from 1996 to 2019.
The cohort of 2,083 individuals was compared against 16,643 matched population controls.
Follow-up ran for up to 25 years.
This is not a small study with convenient dropouts. It is the full national picture.
Among those who underwent medical "gender reassignment", the increase was stark.
Feminising procedures: psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7%.
Masculinising procedures: from 21.6% to 54.5%.
The procedures did not resolve the distress.
After adjusting for prior psychiatric history, all gender-referred adolescents -- whether or not they had undergone procedures -- faced similarly elevated ongoing risk.
Approximately five times higher than male controls. Three times higher than female controls.
The authors noted plainly: in some individuals, the medical procedures "appear to be linked to deterioration in mental health."
This is a peer-reviewed journal. This is the lead clinician of Finland's national gender clinic. These are her words.
The study also found that those referred after 2010 -- when Finland saw a tenfold referral surge -- arrived with far greater pre-existing psychiatric needs.
47.9% had already required specialist psychiatric treatment before their first clinic contact.
Among matched controls in the same period, that figure was 15.3%.

This was when transgender genital chop-shops began to be recommended as a cure-all for the incurably mentally ill.

The authors suggest the pattern may indicate that for some adolescents, mental health difficulties are presenting as concerns about gender identity -- not the reverse.

As I said: It's the mental illness plus the sales pitch of a Miracle Cure for mental illness that is driving the interest in transgender "therapy," not, as the crazed body-swapping monsters claim, the transgenderism causing the other mental illnesses.

The study's conclusion could not be clearer:
"Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment."
This is the finding the gender medicine movement has staked its entire ethical claim on. The claim has not held.
In Australia, two clinicians who raised these exact concerns faced regulatory action.
Dr Andrew Amos was banned by AHPRA for questioning the treatments publicly. No finding of patient harm was made against him.
@Jilliantweeting was suspended, then issued a termination notice.

Spencer's termination came one month before an independent panel was due to deliver its findings. That decision is now subject to legal challenge.
The Finnish study adds to the evidence base both clinicians drew on when they spoke up.

The UK's Cass Review -- a four-year NHS-commissioned inquiry -- found the evidence base for puberty-suppressing drugs and cross-sex hormones in minors to be "remarkably weak."
It rated Australia's child gender medicine standards 19 out of 100 for rigour of development.

I think they call that score "The Gentleman's F-Minus."

My late mother taught for decades. First in Cleveland then Canada.

They started to integrate the mentally challenged into class and even with full time caregivers, it was hell. I imagine the same goes for inner city schools. Put the ones that actually want to learn in a classroom where they can do so and let the rest do whatever.
