Republican Clayton Fuller Wins Marjorie Taylor Greene's Old Stank-Ass Seat in Rome, Georgia

This is technically a pick-up. Because Marjorie Taylor Greene quit mid-term in January-- on the exact date that her five-year congressional pension kicked in -- Rome, Georgia has been without a Representative for three months, and the GOP has been down a seat in Congress.

So yes, this is a win of a seat we had already won, but that seat was abandoned and has been unfilled for an entire season.

But now we've taken it back. Our slim congressional majority holds (shakily).

If you're sports nerd, we gained a half game in the playoff race.

The highlight from the left and the Woke Reich -- which is now just straight-up a Democrat voting block, like the NeverTrunpers before them -- is that the seat was won by only 12 points instead of 30 points as in 2024, so it's all because we won't agree to the left's and Islam's demands to just let them have Israel, serious you guys that's all we want, just Israel, you gotta believe me bro, we just want Israel and that's it, we don't want to force traffic to a standstill as we ostentatiously and conquerishly pray in the streets during rush hour, we do not want to raid your treasuries like the Barbary Pirates, we just want Israel, why won't you believe us bro?

I wouldn't call the change in margin of victory pure spin. Yes, the Woke Reich and their fellow travelers of the Islamocommunist Left are spinning the fact, but it is a fact, and a worrisome one.

But then -- it's also the case that the former winner of the seat has been running against the party she formerly belonged here. That has to have an impact on party cohesion.

Clayton Fuller won a Georgia special election to replace retired Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday night, growing the House Republican majority by one.

However, Republicans won by a slimmer margin than in years past, an ominous sign with just over half a year to go until the midterm elections.

Fuller, a District Attorney, defeated Shawn Harris, a Democrat whose website describes him as a "retired Brigadier General" and "cattle producer," by a 55.9 to 44.1% margin, with 99% of votes counted by 9:30 AM Wednesday.

The election's results mark a double-digit shift in favor of Democrats, as Greene won in 2024 by an almost 30-point margin.

Greene, once a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, retired in January after a falling out with the president, who called her a "traitor" for standing against him on foreign policy and economic issues.

The president had indicated his intention to support a primary challenger against Greene before her surprise retirement.

Correct. We went from a trashy, flaky, embarrassing bimbo (but unattractive) with the IQ of a cooked potato to a normal guy who doesn't have blood coming out of his... whatever, a district attorney and lieutenant colonel in the Air Force reserve. And he doesn't believe that Jews control the weather with Space Lasers or pal around with terrorists like Code Pink.

We don't have to hold our breaths in suspense when he speaks. His sentences will not be like Marjorie Taylor Greene's, tragicomic misadventures and verbal bus accidents.

Fight the Gay Race Communist Hollywood demoralization. Sometimes normal-looking is normal-being, and in fact it's a lot more likely than weird-looking hiding a clean and vanilla life.

not a remake of either, but it is inspired a bit by both. I never saw Blow Up but I assume it's about a piece of media -- a photograph? -- that turns out to have sinister implications, right?

Blow Out is about this audio recording a movie sound designer makes when he's out collecting natural sounds for a film. He witnesses a car blow out and subsequent death of its driver, a presidential candidate, and reviews the tape and hears a gunshot preceding the blow out.

So it is like those other movies in that a piece of media keeps being revisited for clues.

But it's not very close to the Conversation at all. Maybe the nihilistic tone but that was common in that era.

95 Conspiracy Theory time:

I still think MTG was compromised by blackmail. Just before she announced her departure, she was giving a press conference down in Georgia, and she started it by saying something like, "If they say my death was suicide, it wasn't suicide." A total non-sequitur that she didn't elaborate on, and had nothing to do with the press conference. Epstein was not the topic of that particular press conference. It had something to do with Georgia. She announced her departure weeks later.

I think someone had something really compromising on her, and rather than stay in congress responding to her puppetmasters, she just waited out her benefit deadline and left. That's not to say she isn't a self-serving, self-important idiot. I just think there is a hell of a lot of this blackmail stuff going on in all facets of Washingtong, including the Supreme Court (especially there).

Whether the pol is on the right or the left, I'm not big on putting reservist JAGs in elected office. Being an active duty JAG is bad enough, but at least they sacrificed a few years out of their life to active duty.

Reservists in other MOSs where you actually have to get your hands dirty are okay, but when combined with being a JAG? Ugh. Fucking ticket-punchers

118 90 >>>60 Isn't 'Blow Out' a remake or homage of 'The Conversation'? Or am I confusing it with 'Blow Up'?

not a remake of either, but it is inspired a bit by both.

Posted by: ace at April 08, 2026 03:46 PM (1wjle)

137 This district was never in play for Dems, but if the results at 92% stand, this went from a +30R to only a +15R district in under 2 years. That's at least something.

A +15 point gain with Democrats doing absolutely no campaigning at the national level. What would the results have been if Democrats actually campaigned like Republicans do?

Who is still voting Republican? Our country is doomed. I know this district is a GOP stronghold, but still.

Rural areas are told democrats want everyone to be lgbtq+. They’re told they want all their kids to be trans. They’re told they’re going to take their guns. Conservative news still pretends democrats only care about billionaires and republicans love small business and working class. They’re told democrats want to raise their taxes. They’re told democrats want to outlaw Christianity.

The republicans propaganda machine is very effective.

In an epochal development, looks like at least one Gulf Arab state has finally started ordering from the adult menu. UAE bombing Iranian oil facilities (after the ceasefire went into effect).

Iran and Iz'rl hit each other after the ceasefire began.

We whacked some IRGC proxy militia dipshits in Baghdad. They in turn launched a Grad rocket at our airport facilities, and par for the course the thing fell short and killed some locals.

Iz'rl hit 100 targets in 10 minutes in Lebanon, looks like intended to be a serious decapitation strike on remaining Hezbollah leadership. Biggest such thing since Grip Beeper. Tehran writhes and rages about it, helplessly.

244 Special elections are different. MTG won three elections while backing DJT. Dems didn't bother funding their candidate in 2024.

The special election in GA House District 14 in 2026 was an open seat. The Dems had plenty of money to spend for advertising against a new-guy Republican. Plus 2024 was a presidential election year and GA was, according to the Dems, up for grabs, so MTG's numbers were inflated compared to the hard-core GOP turnout in the 2026 special election.

That's actually an interesting bit of Euro slight-of-hand they do. Some money goes directly to NATO HQ and administrative funding, while other money is spent on their actual, domestic militaries. Most European countries count the money that goes directly to NATO as part of their military spending to meet their national NATO defense spending goals.

OK, that makes sense. In Russian, the "d" is followed by the letter representing the "zh" sound (the second "g" in "garage") and those two sounds together make a "J" or "soft g" sound phonetically.

Update on the stabbing death of 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska:

A judge has ruled Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr. “incapable to proceed” on the state first-degree murder for killing Iryna Zarutska.

Judge has now ruled based on a capacity evaluation report from Central Regional Hospital.

His public defender, Daniel Roberts, filed a motion in Mecklenburg Superior Court requesting to delay further proceedings including the Rule 24 hearing on seeking the death penalty for up to 180 days.

Brown has a documented history of schizophrenia, refused medication, and at least 14 prior arrests including armed robbery for which he served prison time. He remains in federal custody. He faces a separate federal charge of committing an act of violence causing death on a mass transportation system, which carries a possible death penalty.

Judge’s name has not yet been released.

Leftists have huge contempt for Christians, but they need their votes, and have a lot of them convinced that Jesus wants them to hate Trump.

I think what started a lot of prep for that was the complete homogenization of "christian", with catholics and mormons and presbyterians and baptists and anglicans and so on all lumped together in a generic category.

And the social media christians are fine with that, because the cool kids smile when they agree.

296 Opening the strait, even just for a bit, is a big loss for Iran as they relieve the pressure (which takes time to build up) of shortages, and they show that it is them and not Trump closing it.

Closing it again is also a loss, as (I believe) Trump will use that to move the Overton window into international control of the strait, or better -- USA control. We just take the f-ing island and charge a toll (hey, Iran claims it is worth $2m per ship, but for Iran it is ransom. For the USA it is just a security fee.)

We don't do it for the money, but to prevent China from using the strait as a weapon in a future war. That is what this is all about.

Look at Russia -- they are doing badly in Ukraine, but would have been much worse if they didn't have half the region by the balls on energy. CHina wants the same leverage and was establishing it with Iran and others.

Because it's a "feelings" type poll that measures emotional sentiment vs actual results at the ballot box.

Just like most people here "hate" Republicans because we feel they are sell out quislings, that doesn't mean we don't still reliably vote Republican.

I'm guessing a lot of the "low polling" of Dems is from Dems being mad the Dem is too "establishment" and not fighting Trump hard enough.

352 It is funny, but the average low info voter is totally okay with Iran closing the Straits of Hormuz, as if they are completely justified, but Trump is the one that has the explaining to do for $5 gas.

And Trump is also simulatenously at fault for demanding the Straits reopen to ease energy prices.

356 I was in Hungary under the commies, but it was pretty slack commieism by the 80s

I was around there in the late 1980s, and Hungary was already giving major headaches to the East Germans. Sometime around 1988 Hungary just decided the Iron Curtain was for funzies. They let anyone from Germany or Czechoslovakia pop over for a "visit" and then, oopsie, didn't monitor the western border.

Honestly, that meme Ace showed earlier today explains everything. "That bitch over there eating crackers." Once you hate someone, you hate everything they do. It's a perfectly juvenile, mean girl rationale, and so it fits perfectly the Nevertrumpers and Liberals.

The Blue Sky terminal online used to describe the demons in Frieren as allegories for minorities.

Now they have flipped to a new page of programming, the demons are now white people.

369 We talk about these female pols concerning their looks, but honestly take away their entourage and put themin regular clothes and they would not get a second glance for the most part. It’s all just something to snark about.

I saw a woman at Johnny B's Front Porch in Lillian, AL last week that you would've sworn was her. And that place has a history of being kind of a rough place at times, so it would check.

374 The Conversation was one of several flicks late '60s-mid '70s that did 'government listening in illegally'. Almost completely forgotten: The Anderson Tapes; once cult classic, now getting strange new respect: The President's Analyst - Godfrey Cambridge made that one, another guy lost way too young.

377 I don't get too bent out of shape about these kinds of special elections where turnout is not the same as generals, or even primaries. Yes, R's won by double digits. They knew it was safe so a lot of right-leaning voters may not have shown up.

And maybe this was a stronger opponent than in the last general election.

Optics be damned. R's won by double digits.
