The entire goal of true socialists should be to invent the replicator as it is the only way socialism could ever work. As long as they immediately terminated socialists that attempted to control replicator production and usage, which some of them would try right after invention.

Sounds like a typical setup for a legal challenge, which I guess they think they'll win and set some kind of precedence. I think the idea is, they do this, the current admin takes us to court, the commies win everything in '28, then the commie court settles and they set precedence. Medea Benjamin? Sure, if she did the crime she can do the time. But the one I wish they'd get after is her partner, Jodi Evans. She's married to the Chinese spy, Neville Roy Singham. Impressive skills. But……..
I remember the days of Evel Knievel. We would raid construction sites and build our own ramps. Dads would drink beer and offer fatherly advice like “make it bigger”. No helmets or pads and sometimes no shoes. Then someone always had to go first. That sometimes ended up with a nasty injury. We’d all haul ass and deny we knew anything. Our bikes were a bit different and not quite as forgiving. Fun times indeed. Posted by: Billythesquid at May 25, 2026 05:34 PM (auDTc) 41

Impact varies exponentially with speed. It varies directly with mass and inversely with your deflection. So mass hurts and velocity hurts **2.
But deflection helps! But also, deflecting is often very very painful when you body and bones and squishy parts do the deflectin'. So you would really want something else to handle the majority of the deflecting. And even then it only helps linearly. Kind of hard to offset the **2 for velocity. I saw a thread where someone argued that making someone pay for college because you did is the same as making someone else get molested because you were.
And...the fascinating thing about this line of thought is that it ignores college facilities/labor costs money. There isn't a bill for college because someone is doing something bad to you, there is a bill for college because you are using goods and services from others, and you shouldn't be able to force others to do labor on your behalf. If we were to come up with a better analogy, making a new college student pay for college after you paid for your own is liking making that new college student cook his dinner instead of being forced to cook both his and your own. Not that college prices shouldn't come down - prices could easily be halved across the board with no loss in the already questionable quality with a few common sense reforms Posted by: 18-1 at May 25, 2026 05:43 PM (sKqQm) 49

“Batteries die in July, they just don’t keel over till January”
There are some nifty devices called “conductance testers” that do a pretty good job at sniffing out bad batts. A lot of places use them for warranty return testing. A classic load test, something the drones no longer can do, is still the true test really. I’m always amazed at how much things change they stay the same. Auto shop manuals from the 1920s have all the exact same stuff in them. Modern cars just have a big layer of electronics and sensors and gew-gaws in the mix. Those RedBull cycling vids are insane... even if they're AI or from a game. *I don't think the first one is "real."
However there are some live ones. And... the gravity racers, gocarts with no engine, that take to some pretty hairy roads or trails are off the hook. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAyiMsA-GEE Posted by: Martini Farmer at May 25, 2026 06:04 PM (jehhT) 87
>>According to the report, many of the organizations involved are linked to wealthy Marxist businessman Neville Roy Singham and his activist network, which investigators say has spent years funding pro-China, pro-Cuba and anti-American activism in the United States.
>>A previous investigation cited in the report alleged Singham directed roughly $278 million into nonprofit organizations promoting pro-communist narratives and organizing street protests after marrying Jodie Evans, Benjamin’s fellow CodePink co-founder, in 2017. https://tinyurl.com/3udt3vzj Posted by: JackStraw at May 25, 2026 06:05 PM (viF8m) 88
Jane Fonda, Bernie Dohrn, the Manson girls, the Weathermen, we could go on all day.
Wealthy people, trust fund babies and heiresses, they have the $$$ to make revolution a hobby. If they get tired of it or get arrested they can go do something else. It’s one reason “role models” are so dangerous. Kids look up to celebrities and want to emulate them or imitate them but regular people don’t have Fuck You money. The Republicans have boring taglines: "official Republican endorsed Candidate" or "County Republican Organization "There is one guy "America First Always" which is slightly more creative.

According to wiki, she is still alive and gave an interview in 2017 that she still hated Bush and did not like Trump. Note we did not hear about it because she probably lumped the lightbringer in there too.

Right, gauges have been useless for 60 years probably.
There are digital voltage gauges that plug into the “cigar lighter” or charging port. These should work pretty well for monitoring system voltage in real time. Posted by: Common Tater at May 25, 2026 06:11 PM (w3KHJ) 95

Three hours west we would be camping in the mountains. Two hours east we were on the ocean. Up to Bal'mer for great food (crabs). How I hate those Dem's that destroyed that state. Hate them. 77 She made a statement after Obama won and code pink all of a sudden did not have any issue with drone striking civilians. Something to the effect of 'it's like Casey(her son) died all over again.'
I questioned her methods and who she chose to associate with, but not her grief. Posted by: Aetius451AD work phone at May 25, 2026 05:59 PM Thank you. Her grief was real, I agree. To come to the realization your child’s death was a tool to make money and get votes probably would be akin to reliving his death. Medea and Jodie are evil, imo. The street he lives on is in Shanghai. Interesting timing since Trump just got back from China. Posted by: JackStraw at May 25, 2026 06:19 PM (viF8m) Processing 0.01, elapsed 0.0126 seconds. |
