![]() Houston, we have a problem! Eagle-eyed NASA fans were left stunned after spotting an Artemis II commander entering his tablet PIN in plain sight on the launch livestream. Viewers wasted no time trying to guess astronaut Reid Wiseman's code after he unlocked his device 19 minutes before Wednesday night's launch. Wiseman, 50, grabbed his stylus and entered the four-digit code in plain sight, making it impossible for viewers to miss. "I appreciate you wanting to get people interested in rocket science, but maybe don't broadcast that the PIN to unlock the tablet on the rocket is either 9393 or 3939," one viewer wrote on X.I smell an overpowering whiff of Aksually. Here's a little rule that idiots don't know: The more determined you are to broadcast that you are Superior on a free social media platform generally acknowledged to be a sewer for the unemployable, the most certain the rest of us are that the only things you're superior to are jack and squat and Jack left town and Squat died five years ago "with" covid. Imagine working hard your whole life, studying taking care of your body, learning the science, and getting selected for the astronaut program. Then, imagine doing your best and finally getting into a rocket, walking the gantry and stepping into the capsule, you're going to the moon, one of a tiny number of humanity that has ever done so.
Then imagine that instead of praising you and talking about your skills, considering you an Astronaut, the news focuses on your skin color and genitals. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at April 02, 2026 03:45 PM (El6/E) 32

The BBC posted that the space launch was an example of "colonialism" -- before deleting it without admitting it.
___________________________ Hell yes!!!! In fact, when they do their first orbit of the Moon, that colonialist Canadian Astronaut is going to have to make a Land Acknowledgement to the original moon landers (the United States of America) or he gets tossed out the hatch. In fact, any future moon landings by countries other than the US will require a stipend tribute (there will be a collection dish) as well as a heart felt Land Acknowledgement to the original occupants. Those from India will receive a memo reminding them to pick up their trash. Chinese missions will receive a memo warning them not to steal anything. Oh and a similar case to this - during the WoT some Jihadi hacked a French news station's social media.

Posted by: Biff Pocoroba Unfathomable. 'Cause every year between mid-June and including July 4th is already bizarre around Philly. --- Called the "Block Party Bonanza," the new initiative will bring, what officials called "Life, Liberty, and Happiness celebration kits" to help neighbors present block parties in their communities for America's birthday celebrations. The kits will be filled with "decorations, games, activities, and supplies to spark celebration and civic pride," officials said. (Plus a $250 gift card!) "I love this. I don't think there's anything more symbolic of the sense of strength, unity, resilience, pride, and quite frankly, what I often reference as 'Philly swag,'" Parker said during the morning event. "When you come to a Philadelphia block party, no matter where you go, whatever the neighborhood is, their food is cooking, the music that is indigenous to that community is playing and the mayor, because I know how to cut a rug, is dancing wherever I am! And that is the best that Philadelphia has to offer." When have you ever seen, "... the music that is indigenous to that community." Posted by: L - No nic... at April 02, 2026 04:05 PM (NFX2v) 179

The simplest proof against flat earth that normies can understand is flight times. Take a flat earth map and measure how far it is from Australia to England or Hawaii to Boston and check how long the airlines advertise the flight is.
With a round earth, the plane flies a reasonable 450mph or so. With a flat earth, suddenly they have to fly a LOT faster to make the distance in time. Flat earthers have no reasonable answer for it. Posted by: bonhomme at April 02, 2026 04:18 PM (mkw2N) 243

Trump's pardon was symbolic. She was convicted in State court on State charges. Don't be shocked if they stick her back in back in prison. The dems on Colorado make any mafia family look like wimps.
Posted by: Diogenes Trump's pardon is another one challenging recent practice like the reading of the 14th allowing anchor babies. Apparently the early belief was that the President's pardons DID actually cover all criminal prosecutions whether state or federal. And it makes a sort of sense. Kings had absolute pardon power as it was simply a circuit breaker to prevent injustice. One cannot become a tyrant by pardoning people in a world of negative liberties. Only by putting them in prison unjustly. The risk is that a Dem in office would simply pardon all of their criminal supporters simply to get votes. There are multiple passages that refer to the earth as a sphere, and describe it as round. How much the people understood about this is uncertain, but the Bible does not definitively describe the earth as flat. IT contains poetic passages that talk about the "four corners" of the earth etc, but that's like saying "sunrise" even though we know the earth spins and the sun is static relative to earth. Well, and the president is a federal office, and letting the president rule on state issues violates the concept of the states being distinct from the federal government etc. Not that there's much left of that but the principle is valid.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor Not necessarily so. States themselves are limited by their own state constitutions and not following those in mostly blue states is debatable whether those states are actually fulfilling the Bill of Rights. Notice that even the Colorado appellate court threw back sentencing based on Colorado's violation of federal free speech rights. The normal resort is to the federal courts via a habeas act but that is very difficult until appeals go all the way up to final resolution in the state court system. There is an old maxim in law--every right must have a remedy and a right with no remedy (redressibility) is not a right at all. A presidential pardon is simply another remedy for a rights violation. FWIW, you might want to read Madison's Federalist 46 regarding state versus federal relations. Inevitably, he holds that the PEOPLE of the US, not the states, determine who is to be superior in disputes. Posted by: whig at April 02, 2026 04:33 PM (E4rtv) 311

Flat earth concept is medieval. Because they burned all the books and only drunken monks were allowed to read. Ancient societies, especially mariners, had an idea that our earth is a sphere. The Greeks and Romans , of course. Probably Chinese, Indians as well.

Flat Earthers I put in the same category of environmentalists or Marxists. None are scientific in methodology and they rely on pseudo scientific twaddle to make their points. Loved by Mid Wits.
Posted by: whig Another way to say is this is they be makin' stuff up as they go. Plus, you pretty much described the New Mexico state government. Posted by: Alteria Pilgram - My President has convicitions at April 02, 2026 04:41 PM (glnUu) 368
I thought the Greeks figured out the erf was round thousands of years ago.
Posted by: Heroq at April 02, 2026 04:39 PM (nLVHX) They did...Ancient Greek astronomer Eratosthenes proved the world was round and calculated its circumference (c. 240 BCE) using shadows cast by the sun. By measuring the angle of a shadow in Alexandria while knowing the sun was directly overhead at noon in Syene (where no shadow was cast), he calculated the Earth's curvature Posted by: Diogenes at April 02, 2026 04:41 PM (2WIwB) 369

Isiah 40:22 -
Here חוּג is translated "circle" not "sphere". Poor argument! Sorry runner. Better argument for you: שָׁמַיִם. Even I know that is plural "heavens" and my Hebrew is for shit. Multiple heavens == celestial spheres. Score one! Now, Isaiah 40 is Second Isaiah, who preached Cyrus' gospel to the returning Jews, which means this Isaiah got that lore from the Babylonians. They might have sussed out the round earth before the Greeks... Posted by: gKWVE at April 02, 2026 04:44 PM (gKWVE) 372
The real issue for the world inside the hollow earth would be that gravity inside the shell would be virtually 0, it all cancels out

Posted by: mikeski at April 02, 2026 04:41 PM (VHUov) Read an SF story about a world where peeps lived at the base of a huge wall. One guy built a way to climb it, found out that the space there had the properties of a Moebius strip and he walked in one direction and got back to his starting point.
