LMAO....how far down the toilet is Hollywood that it's difficult to determine if the official trailers are just that, or parodies of worn out tropes?
Seriously, when Hathaway was doing her overly dramatic line there, I was waiting for the kid to do some SNL punchline in their "surprise! it's a comedy" fashion. Posted by: Orson at April 03, 2026 05:04 PM (dIske) 9
A full-length trailer from Backrooms. It's a lot like House of Blue Leaves, if you read that. I read a hundred pages and decided "I get the gist."

U.S. Central Command (centcom dot mil) hasn't put out a public release since March 31st. >Al Jazeera has the following, 1st posted 3 hours ago: WATCH: What we know about the US fighter jet shot down in Iran. It's roughly a minute and a half in length. The message of the news anchor chilled my blood. Also, 1 hour ago - 'US media says 2 US helicopters involved in rescue mission were hit' The US media is now reporting a US official as saying that two US helicopters involved in search-and-rescue operations for the downed pilots were hit by Iranian fire. It has many more "developments" posted, one of which is one of the two helicopters, above, has also been downed. As always, hard to say what's real. --- Lastly, it has also reported today: News Drone strike on Sudan hospital kills 10, medical charity MSF says Two strikes on Al Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State hit an operating theatre and a maternity ward, MSF says. The Lonely Island guys are somehow involved in this husband-and-wife-try-to-murder-each-other comedy This is a remake of another Netflix foreign movie. (Quality Guarranteed!). They also shot small arms fire at search and rescue helicopters. Notable Mentions from Popular Discussions
Here are the American actresses most frequently cited for having notably large/wide mouths (often praised for their broad, toothy smiles or full lips that make the mouth appear prominent): Julia Roberts — Iconic for her huge, wide smile and naturally full lips (often called a "trout mouth" due to the even plumpness with minimal Cupid's bow). She's repeatedly topped or heavily featured in fan lists and articles about "actresses with large mouths." Her grin is one of the most recognizable in Hollywood for its breadth. Angelina Jolie — Known for her full, sensual lips and wide mouth. She's a staple in "best/sexiest lips" rankings and is often compared directly to Julia Roberts for mouth prominence. Other American actresses commonly mentioned in "large mouths" or "broad smiles" contexts include: Cameron Diaz (wide, bright smile) Anne Hathaway (broad, full-lipped smile) Eva Mendes (frequently listed for large mouth features) Scarlett Johansson (voluptuous lips contributing to a prominent mouth) Posted by: Stateless - He ain't heavy, he's my dog. Instead of being grateful to her adopted country for all the advantages she's had, she complains about American soldiers creating a Korean adoption "industry."
The dirty secret about those adoptions is that a lot of the adoptees were fathered on the Koreans by US soldiers. there's a great part in Inherent Vice. One of the few ones. It's not bad, exactly, just not good.
But the good part is this: You know in every detective story, where the detective is working on one case and then another and it turns out the two cases are related? Kiss Kiss Bang Bang calls this trope out explicitly. Anyway in Inherent Vice, the detective, Joachim Phoenix, is high out of his mind. So he's paranoid. And he receives a new potential client, and starts taking notes about the case. And as the potential client tells his story, it dawns on Phoenix that this case is directly linked to the one he's already on. And this is the funny part: Because he's high, he starts freaking out with paranoia (justified, I'd say) but also trying to hide it because he's high AF. This is in many ways the story of JackStraw, the AOSHQ's own White Rabbit. Posted by: James Bond 007 at April 03, 2026 05:38 PM (1wjle) 144

At least you got food. And it was Lent-compliant food! Posted by: gKWVE at April 03, 2026 *** On top of that, I was extremely surprised at the drive over and back. This is a commute I took for years and years, trying to find a series of roads that were smooth and pleasant to drive on. The city -- who recently repaired a major water line break on the main avenue in that area -- has not only repaired it so you'd never know, they've actually paved it properly. The car was looking over its shoulder at me, saying, "Boss, this is how roads are supposed to be!" Plus we timed it just right to use the HOV lanes in each direction. Winning! I kinda liked Under the Silver Lake. Have other readers seen it? I can't completely recommend it because it is too indulgent. But if you like offbeat noirs, like Pychon's Crying of Lot 49 or the one with Joachim Phoenix about the pothead detective in California, you may like it. It's basically just a pastiche of Pynchon. But... good? Kinda? Posted by: ace who still doesn't know who the Hound of the Baskervilles was at April 03, 2026 05:29 PM (1wjle) I'm a fan of "Under the Silver Lake", but yeah it's tough to recommend because the viewer just has to go along with it or bail. So yeah, very Pynchonesque. The ending is what really makes it work. Brilliant writing. Most writers couldn't do that. It also gives the story weight that you wouldn't expect. The surprising thing was that the lovely and circumspect Mrs naturalfake liked it as well. Didn't love it, but liked it. The same writer director of "It Follows" wrote and directed "Under the Silver Lake" also is doing the End of Oak Street, so I have high hopes. I think it's safe to say that Iran does NOT have either of them, because if they did they would be broadcasting it across the world right now. Even if it was just their bodies.
Posted by: Tom Servo at April 03, 2026 05:57 PM (/QdgR) We will get the information after this punitive expedition is over, but I wonder if the F-15 and A-10 were shot-down in the same general area? Obviously, the Iranians got a pop-up SAM system, or two, operational. But, after over 10,000 sorties with over-whelming air superiority, I wouldn't doubt that the flight crews began to get complacent. I suspect that we're busy bombing anything that even looks like a SAM system right now. Posted by: Retired Buckeye Cop is now an engineer at April 03, 2026 06:08 PM (ksbjf) 257
brak, those strange spaces have been a thing since House of Leaves (noted here) and even CS Lewis' Wood Between The Worlds.
There's a name for them: "liminal spaces". Posted by: gKWVE at April 03, 2026 06:08 PM (gKWVE) 258

Anne Hathaway is beautiful, I think.
But she carries around a certain graceful elegance and class that certain actresses have. Like an Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly type. I always liked that about all three of them. Posted by: SpeakingOf at April 03, 2026 06:15 PM (6ydKt) Posted by: runner at April 03, 2026 06:15 PM (GD0B3) 262
We do have Neutron Based Weapons that kill all life within a certain proximity and leave the infrastructure intact.........
Just Sayin to President Merkin Muffley and Group Captain Lionel Mandrake............. A neutron bomb, officially defined as a type of enhanced radiation weapon (ERW), is a low-yield thermonuclear weapon designed to maximize lethal neutron radiation in the immediate vicinity of the blast while minimizing the physical power of the blast itself. The neutron release generated by a nuclear fusion reaction is intentionally allowed to escape the weapon, rather than being absorbed by its other components. The neutron burst, which is used as the primary destructive action of the warhead, is able to penetrate enemy armor and structures more effectively than a conventional warhead, thus making it more lethal as a tactical weapon. 248 My wife was a Korean orphanage adoptee. She is very happy to have come to the US even with the problems she had, both there and here. I know a number of her "sisters" as well, and some are delightful and others sort of OK, but they all know what they have here as opposed to what they had there. She goes and visits one of the orphanages in S Korea still. Posted by: Kindltot at April 03, 2026 I remember talking about how bad it was for me taking care of of my Quadriplegic Father until my friend talked about stealing food to feed her brother in a South Korean orphanage, reminding me that things could be worse Posted by: Patrick From Ohio at April 03, 2026 06:16 PM (KhAxi) 264

161 Since I'm watching Burn Notice ( great by the way) , the character Fiona is very hot. I don't think I've seen her since or haven't recognized her if I have.
I loved that show. Fi was not beautiful by conventional standards but she was striking and had a banging body. She frequently did that thing that small busted women often 0do which is wear tight tops with no brassiere. She was also a fun character who liked to shoot people and blow things up; she didn't have Michael's patience to play the long game.
