Rubio Blasts Our Frenemy "Allies:" You Know, We Don't Rely On Oil That Passes Through the Strait of America. You Do.

Europe, the world's most arrogant welfare moocher, wants us to -- get this -- do all the work for them while they can keep sitting on the couch fingering each other up the bungholes.

Overton
@overton_news

Secretary Marco Rubio just delivered a BRUTAL wake-up call to U.S. allies refusing to step up on the Strait of Hormuz.

"We depend very little on the straits -- this is a problem for the WORLD."

RUBIO: "Well, the Straits of Hormuz, those are international waters, so anything Iran does to impede commercial traffic is illegal."

"For all these countries that like to talk about international law, it is a violation of international maritime law to impede the free flow of travel in international waters, so that's number one."

"Number two, it's illegal to bomb and hit and attack commercial shipping, and sink them."

"That's what the Nazis did during World War II in the Atlantic, and that's what they are doing now to ships from countries they don't like, flagged by countries they don't like."

"These are TERRORISTIC acts that they are undertaking."

"So the United States gets very little energy through the Strait of Hormuz."

"Our allies ship out a lot of oil through there...and certainly countries in Asia and Europe on it."

"We depend very little on the straits, if, in fact, Iran decides to set up a toll, if, in fact, Iran decides that they are going to illegally control the Straits of Hormuz..."

"I imagine that will be the president's call whether he wants to help but this is a problem for the world."

"It's countries around the world that should be stepping up and dealing with that and saying that's intolerable and that's what we've encouraged them to do."

Rubio just exposed the truth -- Iran is committing terroristic acts in international waters and America's allies are sitting on their hands.

If the US went home tomorrow and left control of the Straits to Iran, there is NOTHING that any other country could or would do to stop them.

36 Europe is dead or very quickly dying. Nothing can save Europe, because it does not want to survive. The entire continent is basically one big MAID suicide club.

The European population of Europe is old, lazy, and dying out. They only want to hold onto their pensions and what little retirement assets they have. They have neither the will nor the ability to resist the feral class of foreign savages invading their countries. Some of them -- just like in the USA -- are cheering on their own colonization.

Trump understands that Europe is dying. That's why he's been bolstering and building relationships with other countries, like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

86 "Europe, the world's most arrogant welfare moocher, wants us to -- get this -- do all the work for them while they can keep sitting on the couch fingering each other up the bungholes."

Yes, but also I think a major reason why Europe doesn't want to help out in any war against an Islamic country is because they have been so infiltrated and invaded by radioactive Muslim CHUDs that European leaders are afraid of murderous reprisals by these lunatics. And on that score, they are probably right.

We in the USA have our own Muslim problem. It is much worse in Europe. If Keir Starmer comes out in support of USA against Iran, those gay Ukrainian rentboys will be the least of his worries. Muslims run the UK now.

93 Rubio was on Hannity yesterday.

Grok said Canada actually has 16 oil refineries and Australia has 2. I thought the Aussies grabbed that golden Net Zero ring and had none.

More info.

Canada sends the vast majority of its exported crude oil to the United States to be processed in U.S. refineries (particularly those configured for heavy oil sands crude in the Midwest/PADD 2 and Gulf Coast/PADD 3). In recent years (2023–2025 data), Canada exported approximately 3.8 to 4.3 million barrels per day (MMb/d) of crude oil to the U.S., representing about 95–97% of Canada's total crude exports.

This volume accounts for roughly 60% of all U.S. crude imports and about 23–24% of total U.S. refinery throughput. U.S. refineries process this Canadian crude (mostly heavy grades) into refined petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and petrochemicals.

The "returned" portion (refined products imported back to Canada)

Canada has limited domestic refining capacity (~1.9 MMb/d total, with much of it in Ontario, Quebec, and the West), so it imports a significant share of its refined petroleum products (RPPs) from the U.S.

96 The Russo-Ukrainian War has been illuminating in many ways. One of them has been the glaring disconnect between European rhetoric and action. Even with four years now to build up their militaries in the face of what they claim to be an existential threat, most of them have done no such thing. I don't think they're just pretending; the Poles have certainly acted on it. I think Western and Southern Europe is literally incapable, with levels of corruption that make New York, California, and Illinois look like pillars of rectitude.

I'm talking all of their national wealth already looted, and -- my new guesstimate based on Cali's bespoke butterfly bridge -- 85% of their of annual budgets going poof every year, vaporized by grift, fraud, and outright theft. It helps explain why they're bending over for a lightly-armed barbarian invasion, if they literally *can't* do anything to stop it.

When the US and Israel committed air force, naval, and infantry forces to impose their demands by means of an armed conflict with the government of Iran, Starmer was unable or unwilling to send a single ship or aircraft to the theater of operations, even to protect British interests, for three weeks.

The reason they don't is because of ports.
A way around that is, a boat, like a pilot boat, goes out and either collects the weapons or weapons and mercs before the ship enters port. Nothing stops them from having weapons on the open ocean. It's just countries laws while in port.

246 >>> What I have a hard time accepting is that I'm paying $5/gallon for diesel that doesn't come from the war zone.

I got to shoot the breeze with a friend that has a family farm. The price of fertilizer never went down, and is currently outrageous. If the price of diesel does not drop back to below $5 a gallon soon, there's a lot of small family farms that need to fertilize soon, and they won't be able to afford the gas to power their equipment to put down the fertilizer on their fields.

My friend was kicking themselves they didn't stock up on diesel, back when gas prices plummeted right before the Iran conflict happened. But they thought it would keep dropping.

They voted for Trump and don't regret it. But the point of Trump is that the little guy in America feels heard and looked after. They are not feeling that right now. Trump can't afford to lose rural America in the midterms. If there's any way to ease our pump prices soon, I have a feeling he'll have to do it so he doesn't lose support.

247 All the jaw boning over Kharg Island was to prod the EU into providing security for their own shipments of oil. Sitting on the sidelines, expecting the US to setup some sort of armed convoys for them was never going to happen with the current state of affairs.

Trump's already told the EU that if they want oil shipments, come and get them. Taking Kharg Island with the tanker terminals, refineries and whatnot would only provide security at that point, not in Hormuz.

If Europe isn't willing to do that little bit of security for their own goddamn oil shipments, I haven't a clue what they're usefulness is anymore.

Posted by: Red Turban Someguy
______

Yes.

If Iran is an existential threat, then I want a full-scale invasion to role the regime, coordinated with the opposition to ensure a transition to a stable, friendly government. From what I've seen that's doable.

But that's the kind of thing that we have to be sure about. It's the kind of thing that Congress needs to authorize, and the public had to get on board with. If we're going to do this, we need to commit to it and do it right.

I'm not convinced that Iran is that kind of threat though, not least because Trump never tried to convince me. He was just like "Trust me bro."
